    Grouper sandwich
    Stephen M.

We got recommended this by the folks at Sea Screamer and they were not wrong. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We arrived and were seated outside in a covered area with a nice breeze.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The waiter was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He went over the menu and got us our drinks and the our order and son we had our food. And everything was incredible. The French fries are great something that a restaurant can many times not pay attention to but there were crispy and flavorful. The grouper sandwich was piping hot with just the right amount of tartar sauce. My wife got the chicken tacos and said they were excellent. They are well worth a visit.

Grouper sandwiches were good. We had the fish shaped pretzel as well - It was average. Not as soft as I'd hoped. Lobster Mac was decent- lobster was pretty fresh. Only problem was the Mac and cheese had overload of cheeses. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Bathroom had a funky smell.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Outdoor seating was wonderful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Waiter was average.

Wanted to catch a bite at a "local" restaurant across from Clearwater Beach, so we chose Frenchy's. Started with the smoked fish dip - good taste and texture. Portion was okay. Accompanied with packets of saltine crackers. Libations were blue coconut margarita and passion fruit frozen margarita. Both drinks hit-the-spot. Entrees were almond crusted grouper salad and grouper Oscar with 2 sides. Both portions were good size and the taste was actually really good. Arrived around 6pm on a Saturday evening and didn't wait for a two-top outside. Give this place a try; you'd be pleasantly surprise. Our server, Mayrah did a great job!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Wow. This place gets busy tonight.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was waited on by Jules and Chris and helped by the whole team. Absolutely fantastic experience. They're so nice and amiable in busy conditions. Thank you guys and ladies for a wonderful experience. I went with the she-crab soup and a calamari. Phenomenal. So full.

Yum!! Whenever we're at the beach we love to end the day at frenchys. The drinks are yummy and refreshing, seafood tastes fresh and delicious with lots of different sea food options and [[HIGHLIGHT]]can't beat the ocean view![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We love to come here after a long hot beach day to get a quick bite. The service is always quick and attentive and never too long of a wait

Stopped in to see the Beach since spring break is over and we can finally find a place to park. Pleasantly surprised. Never been to this location and found it a real gem. Service on point and friendly. I got the She crab soup yum yum. Hubby got the grouper sandwich. Nice portion and perfectly cooked! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat at the bar and still had a good view of the sunset.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend. We will be back.

We always stop by Frenchy's South Beach location as part of the Frenchy's Cocktail Challenge and grab some delicious Cuban Eggrolls while we're there. Chris was an excellent waiter and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the Beach ambiance can't be beat![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Coconut Shrimp Tacos-yum yum yummy!

Ate here twice while in town for a conference. I was hooked on day one. The first day I ordered shrimp tacos and street corn. I was so hungry after a red eye flight and this lunch was amazing! The second day; I had the she crab soup and the crab fries. The soup was sooo good, fries were okay. Staff were great each visit. Friends also loved their meal. Definitely a place to check out!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a nice beach shack with fried foods and drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the alligator bites and my wife ordered the grouper nuggets. My food was a bit salty but the grouper nuggets were spot on. The server checked on us constantly so we were set. It's a good place for a snack, check them out!

    Mahi Mahi Sandwich

We had a great meal here. I had the mahi Mahi sandwich and husband had the grouper kabob. We split the fries with crab, all were fantastic! Service was great!

Layback restaurant along Clearwater beach. Service was friendly and fast. Food on the other hand was ok. Must order - their house special soup. It's very rich and flavorful, not friendly to waist but definitely yummy. We ordered the fried pickle and calamari. The fried pickle was good, crunchy on the outside and soft inside. The calamari was overcooked and honestly, seemed like they were frozen as some of them were shriveled up. Similarly for the steam Alaska crab legs; they were not very fresh. The hubby ordered the grouper with crab and it was probably the best entree out of the 2. The kids menu was very reasonably priced. We ordered the kids fried shrimp basket and it was better than the calamari. Ambience - very casual and layback. We sat on the 2 floor so we did have a good view of the beach from air conditioned room.

Grouper nuggets and grilled grouper sandwich

So good, we visited twice! If possible ask to sit upstairs - it was so nice to be in a cold air conditioned room while it was warm outside. We tried the following: - jalapeno hush puppies (seasonal) - flavorful, loved the jalapeno - Maryland crab cake - meaty and a larger portion than expected - spicy conch fritters - a bit on the gummy side, but good flavor - grouper nuggets - large serving, crispy - their world famous grouper sandwich - grilled was good, but the Cajun version was better! - key lime pie - decadent and the perfect amount of tartness Our servers both on both visits were very friendly and attentive. We'd highly recommend Frenchy's!

Was a bit disappointed with my visit. This was a surprise based on other reviews. Generally the food was good, but not very good or great by any means. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The visit was also dampened by the existence of small flies everywhere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm assuming this is a rare occurrence and we were just unlucky that day. Now the detailed review: [[HIGHLIGHT]]This Frenchy's location is small with primarily outdoor seating. We liked the outdoor seating (if not for the flies and some seagulls attacking other patrons).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The server was considerate and friendly. The drinks were very good and hit the spot. We ordered the Famous Grouper Sandwich and a Lobster Roll. The Grouper was ok with good flavor but soft and a bit mushy. The cheese and roll it was served on was good though. Kettle chips were also very good. The Lobster Roll was much better. Tender and flavorful lobster with seasoning that was not overpowering. Served on Texas toast. Wasn't a big fan of the coleslaw either which was a bit bland and watery. Maybe their other locations would be a better choice.

This week I visited Clearwater Florida for the first time, and Mio's Grill & Cafe was recommended…read moreby me to a friend who has visited Clearwater many times, and said to me that this restaurant was a "must visit" during my time here (and they were right). We sat outside during our meal and the ambiance and feel of the restaurant was very welcoming! As for entrees, I ordered the Chicken Gyro Platter which was very well made, seasoned perfectly, and presented very well. The chicken was very well seasoned along with it being perfectly cooked, and the Rice Pilaf was the same. Overall nothing I would change about this dish and I would recommend ordering it. Next, one of the people in my party ordered the Chicken Gyro Salad which they loved. Same as my dish, the chicken was cooked perfectly. It was also mentioned that the lettuce was extremely fresh which is always great to see. The last two members of our party ordered the Beef/Lamb Gyro Salad which they loved. Again the meet was cooked very well and the lettuce was extremely fresh and overall they both loved their meal. (We did also order the Baklava for dessert which was fantastic as well) To finish, our service was top tier and our server Tayfun was extremely attentive throughout our entire dining experience and was very friendly! Amazing 10/10 dining experience and would most definitely come here again and recommend to others!

We sat outside on the water and it was a little cool but a light jacket made it comfortable. It was a beautiful day! We started with Turkish Coffee, which was delicious! We have no idea how to "read the coffee grounds" HAHA but I can tell you mine looked like a duck and a crooked United States, if that helps anyones premonitions, LOL. We ordered the babaganouj appetizer, which was DELICIOUS!! It comes with pita, but for me, being gluten intolerant I asked for some vegetable. Waiter offered cucumber, but he only gave me 3 tiny pieces....so sad. Whatever, I wasnt going to let it go to waste so I just ate it with a fork. However I would suggest offering a proper portion of sliced cucumbers for your Gluten Free patrons, as a courtesy. I ordered the gluten free Falafel Salad and my son ordered the Yogurt Kebab. Both were very enjoyable! My falafels were moist on the inside with a crisp outer shell, my only suggestion would be to add a little Feta to the salad, wouldve been more interesting than pkind of plain and redundant--especially for just under $20. My son enjoyed his dish, even using the pita to scoop it up. We were so full and brought more than half home. The waiter was very kind and was generous to offer us a complimentary piece of Baklava (we had waited a bit for our food but it wasnt really a big deal--we were enjoying ourselves). Parking is a bit of a challenge because Columbia Rest and Backwaters has Valet that sort of capitalize the parking area-so plan ahead for that. We went at 2pm so it wasnt too difficult but I would guess dinner might be a challenge unless you use their Valet services--but Im only guessing. The restaurant is cute inside, and I saw they had a wine cooler. I think we'll go again and order a bunch of different appetizers and try some Turkish wine. I highly recommend trying Mio's!

While at the beach we started to get hungry so me and my princess decided to grab an early dinner after a day of long travel and the hotel receptionist said " go eat outside at the sandbar!" We ordered shrimp cocktail for appetizers and wings then I decided on the grouper sandwich with a side salad and fries and mini cheeseburger sliders and fries for my little one. We enjoyed our view of the ocean and stayed after we ate and got to see dolphins swimming near by. We will definitely be having lunch here a few more times before we leave. We had drinks to start; my 20 year old and 16 year old had soda. Wife had a Coroner and I have the spicy jalepeno margarita. All was great! We did not get apps, but there are lots of choices. For mains I had the Birria tacos with onion rings. One daughter had the same. Great taste, but if I had to do it over I would get a side of salad or coleslaw as it was a lot of fried on my plate. That said, finished it all! My other daughter had the chicken Cesar salad and loved it. Chicken was very tasty. My wife had the grouper basket. She thought it was tasty and hit the spot.
