My friend and I both had the corned beef on pretzel bread. I have to say being anex New Yorker, I'm always suspect on corned beef and pastrami. I popped in on a random Wednesday because they offer smoked wings which I prefer to fried. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was Wing Wednesday and they were .99. For starters the staff was excellent. Super friendly and helpful without hovering. I would come back for the service alone. The atmosphere was BBQ so for a BBQ place that works! The wing were good but I am not sure how fresh they were which I found interesting on a wing night. I have seen other reviews suggest they are unseasoned but mine were well seasoned. They had a chew to them that felt off to me for smoked wings but it wouldn't stop me from going back. I was trying to keep it light sonI also had the green beans and they were good. Strolling down Main street and had a hankering for BBQ. Our server Isabel was good but I was disappointed with the food . Ordered the $7 Kids pulled pork sandwich with fries the pulled pork wasn't even pulled (had to shred it myself ), it was just chunks of meat, and I had to remove a lot of fat. Oh my gosh this was an amazing meal!! I am a huge sweet potato connoisseur and these were the best I have ever had. I always wanted to try this place and after my Sister and I read the menue we had to try the food here. First off the Hostess Maggie and Isabel were extreamly friendly and gracious, added to the fact that they both were wearing high top Converse which reminded me all the cool people in the East Village of my hometown NYC. Monday visit so not crowded during happy hour. Sat at the bar and was wonderfully impressed by the bar tender. I would come back to this establishment just to have the "fun" drinks based on this experience. Very friendly... Happy hour pricing so wasn't expecting much. Was blown away by the healthy portion of rum in my rum and coke. Got to choose from Captain Morgan and one other I believe was Bacardi. I've had the BBQ years ago when they first opened. Remember it being good, but that was so long ago. That prior experience is what brought me back to this spot to start the night. After a 2 and half hour round of disc golf in Clearwater, I was looking for 2 things out of a BBQ joint in the region: fresh-brewed sweet tea and if they were open on a Tuesday. After some investigation, Dunedin Smokehouse was the winner and it was a terrific find in a neighborhood with many other restaurants. I sat myself at the bar and was greeted by the bartender. I asked if she had fresh-brewed sweet tea and it did not fail as I gulped down 4 glasses of this sweet liquid gold. I went with the Porker Combo which is the 3 meat combo. I chose pulled pork and ribs and brisket for a $1.50 upcharge. I went with potato salad and beans for my sides. The ribs were amazing as they were St. Louis style, sticky, and the best part...I had to eat them with a fork! The pulled pork was tender and almost as good as the ribs. The pulled pork came with some kind of relish. The brisket was tender and better than many briskets I have had. The beans and potato salad were both made in house. The beans had a tomatoey smoky flavor. I never had a potato salad like this one! It was chunky with some kind of creamy conglomeration. I thought it was celery in it but turned out it was bell pepper, which was acceptable. There were 2 sauces on the table - a sweet sauce and an ancho mild pepper sauce. They also have other sauces you will have to ask for - a thick South Carolina Mustard that is close to a honey Mustard, a spicy ancho, and a White Alabama which was my favorite of the bunch. Our server Adam, was there immediately, and we got in our drink orders. He came back quickly with those and we got in our food orders. The food came out quickly as well. Amazing staple for the town of Dunedin. Menu is almost an ideal sports bar prototype with additional specialties. Wings and sweet potato waffle fries stand out to me- but there are tons of menu items that I'm sure would do the same if I tried them. The Smokehouse never fails to provide great special such as crabcakes. The environment is very nice- as you can certainly have your way- either with the indoor (sometimes intense) sports bar environment, or by feeling the comforting Dunedin breeze in the relaxing outdoor seating. The service is good here as the servers are very knowledgeable menu. I look forward to continuing to expand my love for this menu and enjoy more time at the Smokehouse. read more

This is the worst BBQ I have ever had. It's actually really hard to make BBQ this bad. I cannot believe this was voted best BBQ and best ribs in all of Tampa Bay. We tried the three meat combo with "brisket", pork ribs, and sausage. The "brisket" was a thin row smaller than a post-it note. I put it in quotes because I am not sure it was brisket even though they said it was. The "brisket" they started with must have been the size of a deck of cards to get it that small and still have a grimy crust on it. Brisket just doesn't come in a shape that creates something like that unless it's tiny. Tiny brisket doesn't make good BBQ. Maybe they cut the "brisket" into smaller pieces before cooking? Again, it was more work to do it wrong than it would have been to do it right. The ribs were also tiny and definitely not smoked. Barely any meat on them and super short, too. The sausage wasn't as bad. Not much flavor, but at least the normal shape. This food all looked and tasted like it had been microwaved at some point. Maybe not microwaved at first, but maybe (ugh) a couple days later when they served it to us. I implore anyone who thinks this is good to try making ribs or brisket at home. Even if all you have is an oven I GUARANTEE YOU the very first attempt will be 100 times better than this. It will also be cheaper. The three meat platter with three sides and a few beers was almost $100 and very little food. Do yourself a favor and get some good meat and try it at home. It's so easy and you will love yourself for it. Then, if you thought it was fun, please open a BBQ restaurant in Tampa Bay. You will probably get rich and famous because there is no competition. read more

The 3 lil pig sandwich also cooked well but lacked flavor the pork belly was good but couldn't carry the sandwich. The sauces were a lil watery for me but had decent flavor. my family and i have eaten here twice in a week, so i think that speaks for itself... but if it doesn't, here's your sign to stop by and try it out! everything we had was delicious: ribs were to die for, smoked gouda mac n cheese was gone in about two minutes, brisket poutine was huge and yummy, pulled pork plate was tasty, montreal corned beef sandwich was insanely good, sweet potato fries were the best i've ever had... the list goes on, honestly. even the raspberry tea was delicious! my only mild gripe was that the pulled pork plate was a bit skimpy on the pork, the portion size was small in general and also compared to the other dishes we ordered. our service was quick and friendly both times. we would (and already did, lol) return... the restaurant is cozy and comfortable, and it's a downtown gem here in dunedin. read more

St Louis ribs (also uncharge) were small (less than normal baby backs) and mostly tenon. Maybe both the brisket and the ribs are just lower quality meat, as the dry rub wasn't that bad, but both had me extremely disappointed, especially for the price. Sides: the greens were fine. Mac n cheese; who in the world thought it was a good idea to put raw onion, raw tomato, cilantro, and corn on mac & cheese, this border is on blasphemy for any barbecue; even the cheese was grainy.
