Being new to the area, I stopped in to check out the brisket, and while I must say it was delicious, as were the collards and baked beans, their young cashier really could use some manners. To explain, I never leave a tip at the beginning of the meal, as one doesn't know how good the food and service will be. During my meal, this young lady was talking to another employee, and every few seconds she would quickly glance over to me while chatting with her co-worker. And as I have excellent hearing, she was complaining about not receiving a tip, and someone really should tell her to not talk about the customers- and look directly at them while doing so. So after I had finished I just left, LEAVING NO TIP! I was at a party the other night, & I overheard a guy from Texas singing the praises of the brisket at Southern BBQ. It's tough in Florida to ever find brisket rubbed & smoked & cooked as well as they do in Oklahoma & Texas. But upon his recommendation we tried it. I gotta say it's the real deal. I ordered my brisket to be lean, to which they obliged. The rub & the bark on the meat were perfect, & the flavor was so good that it almost didn't need sauce. But...you gotta try their sauces. They have Carolina, Kansas City Sweet, Hot, & their own concoction titled "TAMPA". The Tampa grew on me. It had an infusion of espresso in it, & I enjoyed it immensely. For a side I got mac & cheese. We felt like BBQ on a Sunday evening and have wanted to try Q Southern BBQ for a while. They are open Fri-Sun. I got the 2 meat combo, pulled pork & brisket with collards and baked beans. My wife got 4 rib bones with slaw and mac & cheese. The meats were perfect with a very good smoke taste and very tender. All four sides were classic BBQ house offerings and complimented the meat perfectly. Each dinner came with a large slice of Texas toast. We tried three of their house sauces, Texas hot, Kansas City sweet, and the Carolina mustard based sauce. All were very good; but, we used them sparingly to let the flavor of the meat come through. The few inside tables were clean and comfortable and the guys working made sure we had everything we needed. When it warms up we will use the outside tables. We will definitely be back on a Friday to try the burnt ends and Saturday for the beef ribs. read more

Wow. Today was the first time I got the opportunity to get downtown Dunedin and try Southern BBQ! I've seen the menu and the reviews so I had to try the adult American grilled cheese. Well it had been a few years & friends said they were worth a try so we placed an order at noon for pickup at 6pm. It was a large order so we wanted to make sure they had enough time. At 6pm when we were supposed to pick up the order that was over $200 they called to say they were out of burnt ends, brisket & sausage. They could only offer pulled pork! What a joke! These people can't fill an order with 6 hours notice!? At that point we did pick up the pulled pork but should have just canceled. The pork was dried out & flavorless. The sauces were decent but we did not have anything to use them on. They were out of Mac n cheese. Out of beans... we did get Brunswick stew but it was like sweet tomato juice. When questioned about why our order wasn't made or set aside once it was ordered & paid for they said they have their order system set up so that the orders don't show up until it's time to pick them up. Seems like excuses for failure to know how to run a business but I really wouldn't waste my time or money here. Go down to Eli's where they actually know how to serve bbq. Well another fun weekend with wifey. This time we stopped at this BBQ place in Dunedin. As many times we've been to DT Dunedin not sure how we kept missing this place. It's located right in the corner of Main St and Skinner blvd. There are some parking spaces in the front but there are plenty more a few feet down. Their menu is not overwhelming like other BBQ places but they do have some good items on the menu. There is outside seating with fans and misters attached to them for the hot summer days. We ordered BBQ Chicharons and Beef and Cheese sandwich. The chicharons was hot (temperature) when we got them. It had some BBQ rub sprinkled over them. They have different flavors of sauces and a vinegar dipping sauce. If you get the chicharons the vinegar dipping sauce goes well with it ( I know, I'm Filipino ). My wife and I both like the Kansas City sweet and the Tampa Q. The brisket was perfectly smoke and not dry. It did not have that overwhelming Smokey taste to them. The Mac n cheese on top goes well with the brisket. We also got the Bourbon Baked beans for our side. It has some chunks of the smoked brisket (I think) mixed in, so you get a little surprise when you them. Overall, probably one of the best BBQ I've had in a long time. We have been searching for good brisket in the area and we have found it! We ordered the two meat combo with pork and beef brisket with their delicious coleslaw and baked beans. We also ordered a medium mac and cheese! Everything was so delicious and this meal was perfect for my boyfriend and I to share! We sat outside because my pup was with us and they were happy to supply us and my pup with plenty of water (it was particularly hot this day). After reading reviews I was looking forward to take-out but I was disappointed. I ordered a 2 meat combo dinner that was supposed to have 1/4 lb of each meat- what I got was 2 ribs and a scoop of pulled pork. The pork was tender and juicy but needed BBQ sauce- The ribs had no flavor. There were 2 small containers of BBQ sauce- one was pure vinegar and the other, while tastier was also very thin and didn't stick to the ribs. The bourbon baked beans needed more bourbon. The potato salad was ok. The best part of my order was the smoky grilled chicken wings. They were very tasty and juicy. The server who brought my order to the car was very pleasant and helpful. Parking can be tough. They share their lot with the restaurant next door. There were customers waiting on the terrace for tables so it must have been busy. read more

Was driving around the Clearwater area looking for BBQ for me and my boyfriend. After two failed attempts at BBQ trucks, we found this spot & we are glad we did! I ordered the pull pork meal with potatoe salad & collard greens. It was so yummy! My bf order the St Louis ribs which he liked as well. It's a self serve condiments and BBQ so we got to pick our own BBQ. We both fell in love with the Carolina Gold BBQ. It was so tasty! Just the right amount of tangy for your taste buds! My potato salad was one of the best I've had from a restaurant. You can dine inside or outside. They had the water mist going outside which is a god send for hot days. They serve can drinks and beers. Next door is also a brewery I believe it was. Parking is right in front or right across the street in the lot. The staff was very friendly and checked on us frequently to ensure our visit was satisfactory. The only reason I did not give the full 5 stars was because the portions could have been bigger. Really hate when a restaurant labeled themselves as "southern" but serves poorly seasoned food . I ordered mac&cheese , backed beans, and collard greens . Out of the three I was only satisfied with the baked beans . The spoonful of collard greens I was served were not thoroughly cooked nor did the amount served equate to being charged $5 for 1 spoonful . An authentic southern restaurant will not serve you crunchy ,blandly season collards . Hate when I try new places and it turns out to be a waste smh . I would've been better off cooking it myself . Lesson learned. Seems as though this places is geared towards those with disabled tastebuds. The Mac and cheese was oddly tasting and overwhelmed with too much cheese . This is in the place that used to be a nature food store or restaurant or maybe both? Well I'm glad it's a bbq place now, because I'll probably frequent it more. I had the ribs, and my husband had the impossible burger (he's on a veggie burger kick). We also got collared greens, corn on the cob, cole slaw, and baked beans for our sides. The ribs were delicious. Smokey and fall off the bone. My husband said his burger was really food too. And the bbq sauce was great! I also enjoyed the sweet, tangy baked beans. Unfortunately the rest of the sides fell kind of flat. That always seems to be the issue with bbq places, they either do meat really well or sides really well. This one does neat well. The cole slaw seemed to have more of a vinegar base, which I normally like.. but not this one. And the corn tasted like it was boiled, but they painted char marks in the side. The food is fantastic...we ordered a few different items for the 5 of us, so I was able to try a variety of the menu items. The Brisket was top-notch, with no sauce, or with the Texas Hot BBQ sauce, it was fantastic both ways. They also had on the menu (not sure if it was on special, or if it is on the main menu) the BIG BEEF RIB....the brontosaurus type!!! I had to order it, as they are hard to find lately, and am soooo glad that I did....it was perfect! My daughter loved the Mac and Cheese, my two sons truly enjoyed the grilled cheese. I had to have a bite or two of everything, and I agree! The search is over, after having tried many, many other places, Q's is the place we'll go to every time we are in the mood for BBQ! read more

We ordered catering & it did not disappoint! All my guests kept asking where the food was from & raved about it. We ordered the 25 person catering package with beans & Mac&Cheese. I felt it was a fair price for the amount of food we received and was able to serve 28 people with some leftovers. I heard the Mac & cheese was delicious and next time I'll order an extra pan. Well, I have to say, this is the best barbecue spot in Dunedin! After hearing and reading great reviews, I decided to try out Q Southern BBQ. I ordered the brisket dinner. The dinner comes with two sides (greens and Mac-n-cheese for me) and an array of BBQ sauces to try. The meat was amazingly moist and absolutely delicious. You can tell they know how to BBQ to perfection. I left there very full and very happy. It's a great casual spot for lunch or dinner. I suggest you walk next door to Soggy Bottom Brewery and order one of their beers. They go great with the BBQ. So glad Q Southern BBQ has come to Dunedin. I was craving a good brisket sandwich. Having lived in Texas for 20+ years, I know what BBQ is supposed to be. I was not disappointed at all!
