I was staying in the area and I was starting to feel a little shaggy. Fortunately, The Barber Studio was right around the corner from me. I figured, I'd get my haircut here right now because I needed it and when I find a permanent home I could always switch. Fast forward, I still come here even after I've moved and it takes me 25 minutes on a good day to get to. My first visit, Jess made me feel at ease, I showed her what I was looking for and she gave me a great haircut at a great price. Seriously, part of the reason that I haven't found another place is a comparable price has so far, not been possible. Jess though makes up the other 90% or so. She's easy to talk to, definitely takes any feedback or thoughts and offers advice on hair. I like that she listened to wait I wanted, executed, built some trust and rapport and made a suggestion that I thought was great and I'm now growing my hair out a bit differently and it's turning out well. Nice place and people, its set back a little bit from the road. So it is easy to miss. Parking is pretty easy. They are cash only, so keep that in mind. There are a couple of ATM machines heading west at some convenience stores on York. I tried this place as my previous favorite raised their regular haircut to $30 from $20. Couldn't see tipping at that price so I came up with this place. They do a good job, friendly and it might be good to make an appointment. I think I waited for over 40 minutes, but I had time to kill and their music sounded like it was from a nice sound system. Give them a try! read more

I came here a while back when I was looking for a good barber nearby in the area. I remember this place left a bad taste in my mouth because I wanted a fade, the two barbers pawned me off to this old Hispanic guy who don't get me wrong was very nice but this guy had probably never done a fade in his life , my hair was nothing close to a fade. No big deal, barbers make mistakes all the time but these guys are charging $30 fucking dollars for a haircut then I better get what I asked for. I received the equivalent of what you would get from an $8 haircut . The only positive thing I can say about this place is that thanks to them I found a good barber that I have been going to ever since I was driving by this place today and remembered that I forgot to review it ! The only place I will regularly go to on a weekly basis for a clean fade/lineup/haircut. Alex has been my barber for about 6-7 years and he consistently has provided the same high quality cut every time. In fact, I've followed him from previous barbershop locations! He now owns/manages the Barber Studio and is completing improvements to his barbershop. Its also important to note that every time I walk into this shop, I always feel welcomed by Alex and the other barbers. I'm happy to know I'll be coming here religiously for years! Worst customer service I have ever experienced with a Barber shop. Called at 2pm to see if they had any appts available for after 3pm. The guy on the phone (The Owner) tells me to just come in between 3:30-4:00 because there will be 2 barbers there who will be taking walk-ins. I ask again to make an appt, yet the owner continues to say "Just come in". I arrive there at 3:45 and am told to take a seat on their unstable bench, but be careful you might knock yourself out on the low TV that's placed right above your head. The owner tells me there are 2 guys ahead of my son, but they will take care of him. While waiting another customer walks in & sits down. Time passes & the owner asks the guy who he wants to cut his hair, he says one of the barbers that's doing walk-ins. The owner then tells me that the other barber will take my son when he's done. I ask him approximately how long will that be, he consults with the barber who tells me he can take him at 5:30!! Thanks for wasting my time, and making me listen to you bad mouth other local barbers with a customer! You really should consider ONLY taking appointments and not telling people to just come in and we'll take you! Very unprofessional, especially when there's so much competition in the area! Unfortunately, its their loss, the hunt continues for decent, honest barber in our hood for the 3 young men in our house! read more

Drawn in by all the 5 star Yelp reviews, I took my son here for a haircut. Barbers were nice. Requested a scissor cut with a little #2 razor on the sides. I was specific about all the idiosyncrasies in my son's hair and let the barber know how we wanted it. I knew halfway in things were not going well and my requests were being ignored but it was too late. Even the barber looked stricken as he cut the hair shorter and shorter trying to fix mistakes. I been coming to get my cut and beard fix from Alex since before he became the owner n rename The Barber Studio. Alex work is alwayz on point, he proved it since the 1st time he cleaned me up, my previous barber couldn't take me at that time and he was available, at 1st I was iffy about it, but gave him a shot, not only did he clean me up, but made my beard look legit, at that moment I realize from there on Alex was gonna be main and soul barber lol. So couple nights i got my skulll practically shaved by a fucking lawnmower. i would not recommend this place anyone, i feel like edward scissor can cut my hair better and with arthritis and blinded folded.
