I find if you text them with an urgent grooming need, they will usually always try to get you an appointment ASAP. They even took our pup in their garage while they were looking for new space! The woman was aggressively rude for no reason at all. I was amazed. She said she had no time to speak with non regulars. Made me feel "stupid" for bothering her. Why be in business?!! read more

Owner was very rude when I asked to see if it was possible to make an appointment for my dogs. Refused to find a time for me saying "need to take care of my regular clients." Clearly they are not interested in your business if you are not a regular so don't even bother. read more

Perfect hair cut for my mini Schnauzer. After my previous dog groomer closed their doors, The Barking Lot was kind enough to take us on and gave my dog the most wonderful haircut, exactly like the photo I gave them. And the haircut was top-notch - no choppy or uneven cutting. At a reasonable price also! The staff were very friendly, and they finished grooming in just a few hours! I was able to pick up my dog on my lunch break, it was great. Highly recommend this place for a friendly staff, clean environment, and an excellent haircut. And they even walked my dog! I was told to go to the barking lot about 5 years ago. In the past 5 years, we have taken our Golden retriever to Allan and Mariam(I apologize if I misspell names) countless times! We have even moved from Mountain View to San Jose and continue to schedule him, even though it is a distance! What I love is that they always treat Brady the way I do- as though he is human. Because let's be real- he is! Just covered in fur and with 4 legs! I hear about the walks he goes on and how much fun he had for the day. I feel as though they are meant to be groomers- but guys... Let's open a doggy day care!!! Brady stays there all day for great reason! They really make sure he is dry, brushed, and looking his finest! They let you know if they notice anything going on that's funky (ears, bumps, cuts, itching) and they really do care! I am not the traditional golden hair cutter. Our Brady was blessed with the thick fur, and they make him look stunning with a short cut. Not only is the cut perfect, but he is just so soft! My husband knows- the nights following the barking lot- Brady is in bed due to snuggle factor!! I go to the Barking Lot because of the people and their work. I wish I worked with them all day because I would have a blast! I pay for what I get! And I always feel bad walking out because I wish I could give them more- but sorry guys- I'm a teacher! :) we love The Barking Lot!!! And yes- we have tried 2 other places closer to home- and one time went to barking lot just so they could fix it! I will not go elsewhere ever again!! read more

The Barking Lot's team is really amazing. The Truly care for your pets. They are the very few great groomers that we have left in the peninsula. To professionally groom a dog is a long process, which the barking ensures for every dog. I not only appreciate the amazing work they have done to my pet, but I also appreciate their genuine interest in the grooming industry. Di you guys know they also walk your dogs? Yes, for free. I would never understand how can groomers make a living when they only charge an average of 70-90 per dog and they have to bathe them, often 2 times, they have to dry them and then trim the paws, trim the rear, shave the belly, clip the nails, clean the ears, express the glands do a whole body hair-cut and the entire head. My barber does my haircut and charges me 30 and never washes my head. I pray that they continue grooming and that other groomers will follow their foot-steps because I plan to continue having dogs my entire life. read more

So happy we were able to get our dog in here! We've been trying to get an appointment for some time (after our last groomer moved out of the area) but were lucky to snag a cancellation. Our pup was very overdue for a grooming and he looks beautiful now! The owners were professional, very warm and had lots of nice things to say about my dog. The place was spotless and the other dogs there seemed content. Most importantly, my dog was happy! He didn't have to immediately run out the door to relieve himself which tells me that they took good care of him. I booked my next appointment on the spot! read more

I took our Golden Retriever to Alan and Mariam for several years before we lost him to lung cancer a few months ago. Charlie was always happy to go there, loved being on the grooming table, I understand, and was never stressed as he had been at the previous place. We are currently taking care of my cousin's Yellow Lab as they were evacuated from their vineyard in St Helena / Napa due to the horrible fires. Being a vineyard dog Charlotte arrived suddenly and filthy and in desperate need of a good pedicure. I called and Alan let me bring her in the next day. When I picked her up I could quickly tell she felt really good. Soft, clean and her feet looked fabulous. I had a blank check in hand, fully intending to write it for their service and care but they told me "nothing" when I asked the amount. They explained that this was their part in helping a pup who had been displaced from home because of the fires. It doesn't get any better or more caring than that. And our new Golden's will absolutely be going to The Barking Lot too!! read more
