We have been coming here for years. We moved to South Carolina and this is our go to when we visit NJ. I have to say food was OK. The service was subpar. We waited 15 minutes before anybody even came over to ask us for a drink order and that was after we summoned somebody. Our server never asked if we wanted refills on our drinks. After moving to area we were finally able to try this awesome restaurant and now will call this our "Happy Place"... It will be our go to. After meeting the welcoming owner (Eli) at the bar waiting a few minutes for a table on a busy Saturday night he chatted with us giving us some history of the Barn. Sat down in the back to a cozy room/table and had one of the sweetest if not best waiters ever Mark ! He was so on point with all his suggestions with the menu and specials , he was so accommodating for anything we needed, and very adorable. Great first visit. Have been back twice since and met several more amazing people that make this restaurant work like a charm. Big shout out to Rebecca .. she's a keeper for sure. Loved her. Leaving that night met the owner's daughter Jessica ! Had a nice chat with her. she is very professional and so friendly I gave her a suggestion of continuing to keep certain things on the menu that were specials that we all loved. Which brings me to the food...delicious, fresh, tasty comfort food. Perfect! I would say run .. don't walk to this place it's a hidden gem ! Best ribs in the area! Went here for a birthday. It's a very nice restaurant which is a little bit hard to fine. I would make sure you drive slow approaching the entrance. Make a reservation now. I can not say enough nice things about this treasure. The place is truly a barn, so be prepared for casual, but wow! The staff is fantastic. They are a team that works together, so you never want for anything. We always have a hard time picking a drink. The bar specials are always delicious and very well made. My husband love the ever changing craft beer draft menu. The food is fantastic. The French onion soup, the ribs, the fries, the shrimp Caesar salad... just to name a few... and don't forget about dessert... we have been there a bunch these last few months and continue to be wowed every time we go. Having not been here in 45 years, I wanted to see if it was still open. I was pleasantly surprised that it was. In fact, this place was opened as a Speak Easy in the 20's. My last time here was in the 70's. The place is almost the same. Post and beam barn with a railing for bar stools. That was cut down and they actually have bar stools. They also have central heat. My last visit there, the potbelly stove in the middle of the room WAS the heater. You froze sitting anywhere except next to it. They have a great choice of beer and wine. They also serve food. Unfortunately, I just went there to check it out and have a drink. Next visit, I plan to eat there. The place was crowded with a waiting list on a Sunday night. It's hard to find. Look for a lighted flagpole on Wyckoff Ave. There are no signs. Its a residential neighborhood. Worth the trip. read more

Going to this place is like going back in time. It's an old barn. It's cozy and intimate. The staff is friendly. The food is good. They have a diverse menu. It's a great place to grab a burger or a steak. My mom loves this place. I think she loves the nostalgia of going there. I've been there a few times because it's close and the food is good but I don't think it's as good as my mom describes. There is nothing special about the food but I have no complaints. read more

Simple night turns into big ordeal with bartender... When you get there, they provide a temperature check, but results are not accurate. My reading was 91.2 and my cousin was unable to get a reading yet we were both allowed to enter to dine. Complete Illusion of COVID safety procedures, most likely to stay open. The waiter was great, but experienced an extremely confrontational bar tender and staff when attempting to close out. Felt very exploited during the whole experience, even though my cousin and I were paying costumers. Will not be going back to this establishment. I don't recommend this place for anyone who's trying to enjoy a peaceful evening or a relaxing atmosphere. The food wasn't that great either, but I have to recommend the bbq ribs if you do decide to waste your time and hard earned money here. read more

Thoroughly unimpressed. It's very difficult for the owner cause the parking situation is very odd due to it being in a residential neighborhood. Didn't get to go inside the barn I'm sure it's pretty unique judging from the pictures. I don't want to go and on over the food but I will just round it out by saying that I didn't feel the food justifies the prices at all. Literally a pile of greasy greasy food with pretty much zero vegetables unless you order a salad. It's a pub and so of course you have to expect pub food. But I've had better pub food and would not eat anything here other than a beer and an appetizer. But it's unlikely I'll ever return. There's nothing here other than a cool old barn. What a hidden gem!!! You know me I am always looking for that next great place for after work and I found it! From the moment you walk InYou feel comfortable and welcome. The wait staff is off the hook. But let's talk about the food. You must try the ribs...fall off the bone and slathered on bbq sauce was a delight. The Bison burger was cooked to perfection and I had it on beautifully toasted pumpernickel bread..YUM. My husband had the Teriyaki chicken sandwich which was moist and tender with a delicious hint of teriyaki. But the finale of rice pudding was to die for!!! Please do yourself a favor and come on in! We were a couple of 4 having dinner Saturday, Feb 12. We have been to The Barn numerous times. We paid our bill which was $330. We were finishing our drinks when the owner came to our table told us to hurry up. Obviously they are more Interested in turning tables than having their customers enjoy themselves. The food here is ok. The beer list is ok. The kids menu does not include the drink so they charge extra. The prices are a bit high for what you get but what really got me yesterday was that we were charged 75 cents for bbq sauce. Wow, what ambiance. This is the real deal in terms of authenticity. The staff was impeccable. I'm visiting from AZ, so have only been here once, will try to get back prior to leaving to try other things on the menu. My friend and I split the ribs and the wings appetizers.
