PROS: the place was clean and the staff was friendly. The menu variety was plentiful while prices were average. The waitress Madison was extremely pleasant to be served by. They also had a good amount of parking CONS: very tiny inside which makes it easy for this place to be crowded OVERALL: next time I'm in the area I'll be eating here. If you do go, just ask for Madison

Standard diner. When I think diner, I think of this place. In the corner of 5 points Hawthorne. Got the 2 egg platter, coffee and an oj. Everything was good, no complaints. Pretty standard diner food. Wish I got more than a single pack of jam. I'm sure they'd give more if I asked but off the bat it would have been great Staff and service was good. You had your regulars there that felt like they came weekly and the staff knew them Ambience was good. Felt like a diner just being a diner. Which is always true to itself

First time here and did not disappoint. The eggs benedict was perfection as was the French toast. Corned beef hash was the beat I ever had. Yvonne was the sweetest waitress. Run to Hawthorne Diner!

I wanted to give this place a try for lunch. I called in my order and ordered the supreme vegetable burger with fries. When I arrived I had a little trouble finding their parking and be careful as its a busy street. The diner is a cute, small place located on a busy street. I walked in and was greeted and told the lady my name. She gave me my food, I paid and left. When I got in I dug in and the sandwich was just ok and the I wasted the fries because it wasn't good. I had an ok experience.

Great seafood bisque. Had a decent pasta bolognese. Good rice pudding. Friendly service. Affordable. Good portions. Down-home setting. Greek diner with the usual options plus a Mexican food side menu.

Stopped here for lunch one day on a whim. I ordered the steak quesadilla and a drink. Now, I'm not a picky person, by any means, but the steak in the steak quesadilla was simple a steak umm and cheese between two tortillas. I guess I am used to Qdoba where you at least get little chunks of steak. Did I eat my steak umm quesadilla? Of course, I did - I actually like steak umms -- but it's just not what I expected. My bill was $17 (before tipping) so that's a lot for a steak umm and a soda. I could by 21oz of Steak Umms for $10 at the grocery store. See what I'm saying? On a positive note, service was great and the atmosphere was nice and the location is close to home. Would I go back again? Yes. I would go back again and try something else, for sure. I just wouldn't order a steak quesadilla.

This was my first time dining here. Saw the decent reviews on Yelp so I wanted to give it a try. I came here on a Saturday afternoon with two others. There may have been two booths aside from ours that were occupied. The menu had something for everyone. Wide selection of items with detailed descriptions. When it came time to order, our waitress (Emily), took all three of our orders without writing anything down. I thought she would be a pro since she was so confident on remembering all the details. To no surprise, when our order came, all three of our orders had something wrong with them. Also, was turned off with the way some of our food came out before the others. Our issues were with the waitress. The food was great even though we didn't get exactly what we wanted. We didn't bother to take it up with a manager or anything because we had things to do and didn't want to wait for corrections. But it was brought to her attention.

Always get a friendly greeting, which makes a major difference. When there are so many places to choose from, we like those who seem to enjoy their job. They are making the best of COVID-19 and outdoor dining. Nicely decorated with super pleasant staff. The food is hot and fresh tasting presented with a smile.

While driving back from New York, we stopped at one more diner. The Hawthorne Diner wasn't the original plan, but we ran into a lot more traffic than anticipated, so we decided to stop earlier. Atmosphere: The Hawthorne Diner is located at an intersection. At one time it was called the "Triangle Diner" because (I assume) the end does look like a triangle. The inside is small but has plenty of booths as well as a bar. There were a few tables in the back but more booths than anything. Coffee: The coffee was brewed hot and fresh. It was good. Food: The Hawthorne Diner has everything you want or need in a diner. There are plenty of breakfast choices, as well as wraps, sandwiches, and dinner options. I was hungry, so I decided to order the pikilia house platter to start. It was massive and came with grape leaves, hummus, tomatoes, cucumbers, pita bread, tzatziki sauce, and hummus. Everything tasted good, and I liked the hummus a lot. It was nothing extraordinary but everything tasted good. I was in the Greek mood and decided to order a gyro which came with french fries. The gyro was massive, in fact maybe the biggest gyro I've had. In all, good. Service: Our waitress was friendly and funny. She was one of the best waitresses I've had in a while. Our food came out quickly, and I have no complaints. We were in and out in no more than 45 minutes. Overall Thoughts/Would I Come Back? I liked the Hawthorne Diner, and it's a nice diner to stop. I would definitely go back.

Rachael our waitress was excellent! The food was delish! I had the moussaka special which was awesome! Rachael was awesome and very polite! We had grilled cheese on rye, spanikopita, and a grilled chicken wrap. All were great! And our waitress Rachael was so professional and really pleasant. And did I say Rachael was a great waitress? Well she was! I recommend this place for everyone. Ps. Make sure you tell Rachel I sent you. She'll take care of you.

This vibrant culinary tapestry weaves together indigenous ingredients, European techniques, African traditions, and Asian influences to create some of the world's most exciting and diverse food experiences. For over the past two decades, these chefs have elevated traditional ingredients and techniques to new heights. We've passed this restaurant many times on a busy River Road in Fair Lawn and decided to stop in. Upon entering this warm and cozy interior without a reservation as first-timers, my partner and I managed to locate a table outside on this summer-like day. Juany's Cafe is a cozy, family-run establishment making a great impression as a place for brunch on locals and visitors. The owner is Peruvian, and the Mexican cook began in the kitchens of his homeland, known for its authentic Latin-inspired cuisine. We decided on the Latin bowl with marinated steak accompanied by black beans, sautéed veggies, avocado, and sweet plantains & Grilled Chicken Burritos with Sweet Potato Fries. Complimentary fruit salad started our meal. All ingredients were fresh, and the seasonings were unique with their bold flavors. There was a wait time for food as everything was homemade, made to order, and well presented. The prices were more than reasonable considering the quality of the food. Our server was friendly and accommodating. The service was a bit slow due to a large party group. Brunch is the norm here, but we can't wait to try it out for dinner.

The restaurant is clean and the Latin inspired design is very pretty. Three kids meals and w adult ones and it came to about $100. Pricey for breakfast but I very much enjoy my food

Surprisingly, the diner was not busy (maybe half full) on a Saturday at around lunchtime. I found this somewhat odd. The restaurant is basically the diner counter and then a line of booths along the wall, so there is not too much seating overall. I would imagine it could get filled up very quickly. The food was very good overall: - Chicken parmesan sandwich was huge and well-crafted. - The eggs blackstone was very tasty - the hollandaise melded surprisingly well with the avocado and egg. I would imagine that the California benedict (the version with bacon) would taste very good as well. - Kids loved the pancakes, especially the chocolate ones.

Solid brunch spot with happy vibes…read more Some friends and I came for brunch, and one of our gluten-free friends suggested this spot because it's such a vegan/vegetarian/GF-friendly spot. The menu is deep and it's easy to get lost in the pages of choices. At a friend's recommendation, I tried the short rib hash. It's a bed of crispy tater tots, blanketed with tender short ribs, two eggs (prepared however you'd like), and a drizzle of three different sauces: hollandaise, sriracha aioli, and a cheese sauce. This was rich and decadent and the first few bites were fantastic. As you can imagine, the underlying tater tots got a little soggy towards the end and all the sauces felt a tad rich to truly finish the whole thing. Service was all right, though it was interesting how order deliveries were divvied up. We had a main server who took care of most of our needs, but several others who dropped by to deliver drinks and still another to bus tables. In the mix, some of our drink orders got mixed up and only the people in our party who explicitly asked for waters got them. Inside, the space is brightly lit and attractive. There's a good amount of seating, but on a Sunday lunch hour there was a small wait so it might be worth calling ahead if you're expecting to arrive during a heavy mealtime or coming with a large party. Bite is located in a larger complex with plenty of parking, but since there are so many other eateries and cafes, things can get a little tight around weekend lunch or dinner hours.

I had that "Jersey Meat" (Taylor ham or pork roll, whatever you call it) egg and cheese but I'm happy I listened to the owner here and also got the Chopped Cheese. This breakfast sandwich was stellar but the Chopped Cheese was very possibly the best one I've ever had. The Jersey meat had a hard sear to it, which I love. Plenty of meat, cheese, and eggs on a fresh hard (Kaiser) roll. I got it with just pepper. Jersey meat is salty enough on its own and I typically don't rock ketchup with eggs. This would have been awesome with a splash of hot sauce though. Great sandwich. The chopped cheese was the hero here though. This was on a fresh jersey long roll and the seasoning in the meat was fantastic. Best seasoned ground beef I've probably ever had for a chopped cheese. Plenty of cheese, the roll, and the toppings were all very complimentary. The sauce is great on this as well. I got that extra drizzle overtop and I'm pumped I did. I had a side of it as well and trust me, I used it. Do not pass on this sandwich if you come here. The owner here is awesome, the food is great, plenty of parking on the streets around the business in a residential area, and the price is right. Salt Pepper Ketchup - Didn't Suck!
