A woman saw us outside trying to come up with a backup plan and kindly invited us in to see if they could still help. Her husband Brad invited us in as Lance remembered us from the day before and they happily made us sandwiches. But honestly, these cheesesteaks are good enough with just steak and cheese. The fries here are shoestring, which is perfect if you don't want soggy fries when you let them sit. Penn Steaks uses beef tallow which gives it a bit more savory taste. I'm not really into beef tallow for frying, yet I still enjoyed then. I'd still prefer Five Guys fries over these. But don't let that stop you from trying them! And the service was fantastic. The person taking my order was polite and helpful. I even met one of the co-owners who was very friendly! A great guy to chit-chat if you like that sort of thing. I learned quite a bit from him during my visit. They sell their cheesesteaks in 6", 9", and 18". The 9" is generous and should satisfy most people. I might be able to finish an 18" if was really hungry and didn't add too much to it, but I'd be in pain afterwards! The 18" is better for sharing.
