About 25 people (the restaurant has around 10-12 tables) The jerk chicken tacos amazinggg! (Comes with 2 and it's packed with meat) The oxtail empanadas packed withhhh oxtail sooo good. The fritterssss OMG idk how they get it sooo crispy on the outside and then legit melt in your mouth when you bite in . Not doughyyy . You get all the fish. Delicious. Not to mention the green sauce it comes with . Great addition . I was not expecting it to taste this good (PS. It says It has scotch bonnet it but I don't taste it aka it's not spicy) The wingssss... sheesh the jerk! For my caribbeans it's real jerk don't worry! Island BBQ is sooo good. My daughter tore that up so kid friendly for the picky eating youngins The catch of the day ..snapper. Again balanced with a perfect crunch and yet a delicate flake Short Ribs had great flavor. And very tender. I was so full I didn't finish it . When I went to reheat it the next day. I poured that gravy over it and it was just as delish I'm back now for ALL DAY SUNDAY BRUNCH Shannon's my server and she was super attentive and helpful! Came back for the fritters! Don't know how it was even better but it was ! Grits (a lil salty) but for one who usually has to ask for salt/pepper/butter/cheese to make it taste how I want...I will say I needed nothing extra Chicken and waffles ...you guessed it crunchy on the outside and perfect on the inside . They master the art of texture! And these wings were hugeee . Overall. You won't leave disappointed . Great music, but still a calm chill atmosphere . I finally dined at The Barnyard for dinner. I first attempted a few months ago on a Sunday for brunch and it was a no go. It was super crowded and those who had reservations was still waiting to be seated. It wasn't crowded this visit, but this place is small, as in like 7-10 tables only small. So yes, it is recommended to make a reservation because they will turn you away unfortunately. But once you are in and seated, well worth the wait! We ended up siting at the bar as a walk in (got lucky). The vibe is cool - good music, attentive service, and most importantly the food and drink was good! For starters we got the jerk chicken tacos and oxtail empanadas. Both were very flavorful, made to order and served hot. For the entrees - Jerk chicken burrito and rasta pasta. Chef's kiss! There appeared to be so many good food options to try so rest assured I'll be back. Oh another plus - $5 drinks for ladies only all day everyday. This is a fun place for food and drinks. The service is friendly and kind. The cornbread was the star of the meal and I would come back for this alone. The only con of the meal was that I wasn't thrilled that there was a bone on my plate without meat on it, as well as a piece of cartilage. I was really disappointed with my experience. I ordered a rice bowl with chicken, but the rice was hard and over, making it nearly impossible to eat. The beans were also not good, and for the price, I expected much better quality. To make matters worse, When I spoke with the host, she admitted they already knew the rice was having problems. If they knew the rice wasn't right, I don't understand why they continued serving it to customers. Instead of making it right, only a small amount was taken off my bill, which was frustrating considering the meal was inedible. Black-owned establishment opened up last year on this strip. This place adds a little something different to the mix. I was in the area, saw this place on IG, and decided to try it out. The staff were cool, everyone was friendly and the food was good.. Had no complaints. Bartender made Old Fashion strong but didn't taste strong perfect mix. Shrimp in the shrimp and grits was seasoned well and the Guyanese Chow mein really hit the spot. Overall good solid spot. My family and I visited this establishment for Mother's Day, and there was a larger crowd than expected, so the wait to be seated was longer than we anticipated. I'm not sure if everyone had a reservation, but it was a bit of a frantic start to a day of celebration. Yes, our party was seated later than expected, but it was understandable. The owner was on top of things and allowed the older members of our party to be seated at the bar until our table was ready. She was pleasant, professional, and more than accommodating. Adjustments had to be made as they were short-staffed, but our waitress provided excellent service as things progressed. There was never a moment when we felt rushed. The space is welcoming, beautiful, and well put together. I loved the decor, as it instantly transported us to the islands. The food is delicious, worth the wait. The Shrimp & Grits and The Barnyard Rasta Pasta w/Chicken were as good as others among the comments have said, I agree- on point! The waffle was light, fluffy, yet crispy (I just wish it was a little warmer). I would also recommend the Tropical Punch, a nice addition to my meal! Everyone loved their food, and the DJ for the brunch hours was great. We had to get his card. We plan on coming back to try the lunch and dinner menu. Came here for a Sunday brunch and we were pleased. "T" and Shaday(forgive the spelling) were very nice taking care of all the tables. Our reservation was honored and we were promptly seated on arrival. There was a dj playing great music while we indulged in the bottomless rum punch (which did the job). We enjoyed Rasta pasta, wings, and plantain pancakes, as well as the Mac and cheese. All was well, the only drawback was that the Mac and cheese came out long after everything else, at that point we actually forgot we ordered it. Let me start with this... the warmest, friendliest waitstaff and hostess around. At least for Saturday Brunch they were. The music was low so it was very easy to talk. I returned to the barnyard for a birthday brunch with friends. We were a party of 20 and the establishment accommodated us well. There was a DJ there playing classic R&B and popular hits many can sing along to. The waitress did her best to organize our orders but you can tell she needed help. She had a can-do attitude and managed to check in frequently with us. The most popular choices were chicken and waffles, chicken wings, ackee and salt fish. My very picky son and I went here for lunch the other day. I love Caribbean food but the reason we chose this place is because they had macaroni and cheese on the menu! They serve it in a hot skillet and he said it was absolutely fantastic. They started us with plantain chips, which he also ate, which was crazy, we got cornbread, which he ate and the mac & cheese and fries for him. I got the chicken tacos, they come two at a time, and were unbelievably moist and delicious. Then I got wings, which were very tasty. We even split a mocktail and this one had mango& pineapple. We are definitely going to go back and try some of the other foods. By the way, I asked for hot sauce, it's a pepper sauce, and it's delicious and if you're looking for an amazing hot sauce, that'll burn your pallet, this is it. We were the only guests in the restaurant, yet the service was extremely slow. Our server Laura, seemed confused throughout the time spent and even struggled to recall her own name when asked, which made the service feel unprofessional and unprepared. The food itself was about a 3/10 -- lacking in flavor and quality. The drinks were also poorly made, watered down, and overly sweet with too much syrup. For the price and expectations of dining out, this was not worth it at all. Sadly, I cannot recommend this restaurant as both the food and service fell far below standard. read more

I can definitely say they need more staff. I'm assuming the hostess/server was Owner. She was managing all the tables by herself up until it was time to leave. The Dj was helping out a little as well. Unfortunate for the Sunday Bunch they don't offer appetizers. We both ordered the chicken and waffles. My friend thought the first chicken thigh she had was too fatty and they took replaced it without a problem. If I was to return, I would like to have the option of ordering an appetizer. Visited recently with a group. Staff were all extremely nice from entry to exit. The plantain chips on the table were a nice change from regular bread and butter options. Tried their short rib, black rice, and baked Mac n cheese. I was hoping for and expecting a more caribbean (Haitian specifically) style but it wasnt that. Wasn't bad, but blah. The short rib was yummy. Sub'd the polenta for their mushroom black rice, it needed salt. Was honestly underwhelmed for the $54 it cost ($39 short rib, + $3 rice change upcharge + $12 mac) but price firs the area. Food took rather long to come out. Thought they were trying to bring it all at once but plates started coming out in pieces. I was nearly done by the time the last plate came. Although the restaurant was full the entire visit, it's a particularly small place and I didn't see a group of more than 2 per table so not really sure why it took so long. Would be open to visit again with max 2-4ppl to see how things go. read more

My son took me here for Mother's Day brunch. We did not have reservations so did not expect to be seated promptly. The waitress/ hostess did ask if we wanted to sit at the bar and we accepted. She said another person was coming to clean it off and we would be able to sit. It took about 20 minutes for her to "clean" the bar area. She was moving very sluggish. We were sitting at the bar and after about 10 minutes she took our orders. My son ordered 2 rum punches and only got 1 so after about 5 minutes I asked her where the other one was and she said she thought he only ordered one. Anyway. The waitress/hostess seemed to be the only one working about 7 tables and the other lady, who I assume to be maybe the owner or manager jumped in every now and again . The Rasta pasta was flavorless and very spicy. My son said his chicken and waffles were mid. All in all it was not the best experience for visiting for the first time especially on Mother's Day.
