We stayed at this place for a couple of nights and were satisfied with what we got for our money. We actually reserved this thru the Mackinaw City Chamber of Commerce and that saved us a few bucks. We were given our choice of cabin when we arrived and we picked the one that best suited our needs.....a table at which to sit and play cards and a little couch. The little couch was really not all that comfortable, but it was better than sitting on a bed all of the time. This particular cabin had been recently renovated so it was pretty clean. There was a little "kitchen" area where we were able to set up the Keurig that we always travel with. There was also a little microwave and their coffee maker. The bed was comfortable and it was a short walk to the beach where there were chairs to sit on while looking at the beautiful water. We had friends visit us while we stayed there and one of them lost their debit card on the beach. We alerted the guy that was in the office and when someone found it he quickly contacted us to let us know that it was in his possession. Edited* Since writing this review I have learned that this place is owned by LIEGHIO ENTERPRISE INC, a pretty shady outfit. I made our reservations thru the Mackinaw City Chamber of Tourism (not to be confused with The Mackinaw City Chamber of Commerce). Evidently the Chamber of Tourism is also owned by this family. I could not understand why, when we checked in, the manager told us that we were lucky that the Chamber did not tell him to move us elsewhere as the city was filling up and with supply and demand they could make more money by forcing us to one of their other motels and re-renting our cabin to higher paying individuals. Evidently there was some small print on our reservation that I failed to see. Buyer beware! We will NOT be staying here again, nor will we ever stay in any of the other hotels/motels that LIEGHIO owns.

Awesome beach front view of fireworks from the front porch. I'll be back and reserve the same cabin on the next trip.

After a weekend in Chicago, we decided to head up to Michigan for a couple more days and visit Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island. We were in a pinch to find a place to stay last minute. The Beach House to the rescue! We get there way ahead of the time we were supposed to check in, but the man (who is professional and super friendly) told us we could park in one of the empty spots while we go explore. So cool, right? We go to Mackinc Island and back, and venture to The Beach House to grab our cabin and hit the beach. We get this little 1 bedroom shack of a cabin which was absolutely perfect for our stay, and reasonably priced given the last minute aspect and the views we got to enjoy. We ended up sitting on the beach for most of the evening, watching the sunset and the moon rise under blankets. It was quiet, calm, and so relaxing. When we go back to Mackinaw City, we will definitely be staying here again. It's very affordable and in such a desirable location. It's a mile walk to the ferry for Mackinac Island, so we didn't even need to move our car once we arrived. The Beach House was a great find and we made a lot of memories here.

My family has been vacationing in Mac and staying at the Beach House for almost as long as I can remember. Seriously. Went back again this summer and nothing has changed. (But that's OK.) This is not the sort of place you stay if you need lots of amenities. This is the sort of place you stay when you would be OK camping if it weren't for the lack of power and plumbing. They provide a secure roof over your head in a good location with facilities that are a bit dated, but everything in the units we had worked just fine. One had a brand-new apartment-style fridge, and the other a smaller mini-fridge. Both had two-burner electric hot plates and towels, but that's it. We brought our own pots, pans, dish soap, dishes, etc. The cabins were built in the early '60s, and look it, but they are well maintained; just a few more years and people will flock here for that "vintage hotel" feel! They have a very nice stretch of beach that's well maintained, featuring lots of adirondack chairs and a purpose-built fire pit with bench seating around it. There's a couple charcoal grills available, too. Have I mentioned the location/view? Gorgeous view, great location - just far enough out of the downtown area that there's not crazy traffic, but it's close enough that you can be to the ferries in about 5 minutes, or even ride or walk if you're so inclined. If you're of the biking persuasion, they're right across the street from a section of trail that's beautiful and connects to over 100 miles of trails that spider throughout the state. The cabins are pretty close together, so if you're looking for that secluded in the woods feeling, you won't find that here. But in my experience, the folks here tend to be friendly and accomodating, and the owner/proprietors live on-site, so they're around to deal with people that might be unruly.

There are little cabins rather than a single unit motel. Some are right on the beach. They are cozy and quaint. Excellent view of the Big Mac from the beach. Coffee and freshly baked muffins in the morning. Great value!
