One week later, after washing her hair at home, her hair began falling out in clumps. Her curl pattern is completely gone. She described it as her hair "melting." I have photos. As a licensed salon owner myself, I can tell you with certainty: this is consistent with a chemical relaxer being applied without the client's knowledge. This does not happen from a flat iron and blow dry. When my daughter reached out to the salon via WhatsApp to ask what products were used, she received no satisfactory response. We are now in contact with the Connecticut Department of Public Health Cosmetology Board and consulting with an attorney. A formal complaint has been filed. If you have naturally curly or textured hair, especially if you are mixed or Black, please be extremely cautious. What happened to my daughter should never happen to anyone. She went in for a blowout and left with permanent damage to her hair. This review will remain up until this matter is fully resolved.

I went to this salon after having a falling out with my old friend who was my hair stylist. I don't even know why I was torturing myself at her budget quality salon, when at a competitive price I got everything I wanted and then some. Michelle was friendly, attentive, and sensitive about my long hair. As any person with long hair knows, there are stylists who don't know the difference between a trim and a Locks of Love donation. She worked with me to get what I wanted even though I didn't know exactly how to verbalize what I wanted in cosmetology terms. Before she cut anything, she asked to make sure that it was ok. It's such a cool vibe in the salon. Many smiles and chatter with clients and hairdressers. There's a nail room here as well. I think there are many regulars. The salons is very clean and tidy. Very modern chic decor. It is in an office building with ample parking. The only complaint I do have is the stairs for entrance making it not ADA friendly. However, sitting in the waiting area I see a "back door" and maybe that's ADA entrance but I'm not sure. I highly recommend this establishment. We love Alex and all of the staff we've encountered have been very kind and friendly.
