The order was ready pretty quick, I wasn't in there long but the space is quaint. It's got a couple nooks to go hang out in. This is a beautiful coffee shop - sad we couldn't stay there longer but we wanted to swing by the lake quick on our way through town. As this is my families favorite stop for iced chai lattes, when I came up to Pennsylvania I knew I had to stop here. The location is right off the square in the town, which is prime because we were able to grab a drink and walk around the stores, then before heading back out of town, grabbing another drink! My cousin got both times the iced chai tea latte and loved it so much, I tried a hot drip coffee and really enjoyed that, but then my second drink I got a iced coffee and it wasn't nearly as good, tasted very blan and wouldn't even give another iced coffee a try there.... But warm coffee was good . And The customer service was awesome, which is nice I will say, I got the Rafikis coffee beans to bring back home, and they are quite interesting, unsure how to make them taste a little better back home. read more

Coffee deserves the one star. The food was mid. I had ordered a bagel with no butter and on the side. Once our food was finally served, we noticed no butter on the side. We simply asked for some butter, but received rude remarks about how we should have ordered it with our food... The mother didn't even want to hear our side of the story, only her daughter who took our order. What happen to politeness and the customer is always right? This time I got a delicious dark roast coffee and this fabulous chicken salad sandwich. Both were incredible and I 100% recommend a stop if you're traveling through. We stopped in The Bean Coffee House after staying in the area for a few days on a staycation. Overall ambiance is great and the 2 girls working were moving non stop as they were hitting a Saturday rush and still provided us with great customer service. We got an iced latte, a cold brew, and a blonde roast hot drip. All were delicious. Special shout out for them having Gluten Free Bagels as my mom is intolerant and tbh can make most coffee shop breakfast options a bust for her. The barista also clarified what her allergy was to make sure the bagel wasn't placed in a toaster with other gluten products. Breakfast sammies came out hot and fresh. I stopped by here a couple of Sunday mornings ago with my wife for our morning coffee. My wife and I were in the area for one of the Lake Erie Wine Trails whenever we had some time to kill. I had noticed The Bean the day before and it had looked cute and so that is where we decided to go. Whenever we entered the place was mostly empty and we were immediately waited on and each ordered a 2 shot Americano. When given the option between 12 oz and 16 oz we both chose the 12 oz option to make it stronger. While our barista was making the coffee we had the chance to look around. The coffee shop consisted of two floors with seating on both of them and had a couple of display cases along the coffee bar. They had a ton of coffee bags from different regions framed up which I thought was super cool and I even spied a roaster in a corner. Their wifi network was named "DeathBeforeDecaf" or something like that which gave me a chuckle and they had other snarky coffee sayings around and merchandise for sale. Whenever our coffees were ready we took them to a table and allowed them to cool down before trying them. While they were cooling down a rush of people came in and before we knew it there was a long line. Whenever we tried our coffee we could see why as both my wife and I really enjoyed it. It was strong and rich with a nice finishing flavor that didn't include any bitterness. The bottom line from me is that I would head back here again in the future. My wife and I both enjoyed our coffee and I enjoyed this cute little coffee shop and all of the snarky coffee sayings. read more

The best coffee shop I have been to in many years. Very smooth and balanced drinks. The prices are comparable to Starbucks. I didn't try any food because prior reviews warned it was to pricey for the portion sizes. The atmosphere is very pleasant! There is ample seating for being a coffee shop. There is a loft sitting area and a large lobby area with an electric fireplace. My only complaint is there is no real designated area to wait for your drink. So, people awkwardly stand about and ask each other if they are in line. The front door and ordering area is way to congested. That area could have been set up much better. The ordering process would flow much better! read more

I ordered an iced coffee with lavender and put a little bit of cream in it, it was pretty tasty. However, the service and lack of any knowledge of the fundamentals of customer service led me to give this place a one star. When we arrived it was kind of busy but the basic coffee drinks were made quick. However my young teenage brother ordered a vanilla Frappuccino. As she was making the drink I saw her put coffee in it and asked if it was the vanilla Frappuccino. She said yes and I said my brother doesn't drink coffee, yet she basically said nothing in response and I went and sat down with the rest of the people i came in with. About 10 minutes past and she walks out with the Frappuccino with coffee in it and goes I made it anyways so here you can try it anyways and walked away. We sit there for about 5 more minutes expecting her to make one with no coffee in it but she doesn't until we walked up and asked if she was going to and she responses I can't, they have coffee in it. There's other things like smoothies on the menu instead. ( like seriously, you can't blend sugar, vanilla, and milk?! Lol, I've never heard of that). (Not that this long of a story matters to whomever is reading this, but it justifies the 1 star review). Anyways those are my internal thoughts and beside the point because we go on to order just a blended chocolate drink. But wait, it gets better, she has us pay for it?! Uh excuse me, what kind of customer service is that?! Before the coffee Frappuccino was blended I said my brother doesn't drink coffee, you don't fix something without coffee and then proceed to charge us for another drink. WOW, that's super low and amateur customer service. But, the iced coffee with lavender was good , however the individual making drinks needs to learn the basics of running a coffee shop with actual customer service. Plus, this could have all been avoided when you saw a teenage boy order this drink and ask if he wanted coffee in it and then you could have fixed it when the customer asked if there was coffee in it when you made it. Also, the Frappuccino's Aren't made correctly because they turn out tasting like watery ice and aren't smooth, I think a Frappuccino base is needed, as I was previously a barista years ago. I'm extremely disappointed to see such awful customer service at a local coffee shop that I wanted to support. Hopefully after this review there will be changes made because it is sad to experience poor customer service at local shops and restaurants. To end on a positive note though, the best bang for your buck is ordering an iced coffee and putting something like lavender flavoring in it which is delicious. read more

For starters, this building is beautiful: the perfect combination of exposed brick walls, a small garden outside, hanging local art for sale, and fun music playing in the background. They have tables downstairs and oversized, comfy chairs and a couch upstairs. The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful, patient with my questions, and provides quick service. I got a reeses peanut butter cookie and it is DELICIOUS. I also got a peach tea which has AMAZING flavor. This place serves incredibly high quality products for REALLY CHEAP. This is our favorite coffee shop, hands-down. My husband and I stop by here all the time - we vacation in North East a lot, and our place doesn't have internet, so we borrow theirs. They're always really friendly and let us sit for as long as we need while we finish up some work. It definitely seems to be a local place, as most of the patrons know the owner and vice versa. A very friendly locale! My husband always gets a cappuccino, and I love their selection of teas. The Paris one is my new favorite - black tea with great flavors - I could drink it all day. The pours are always consistent, which we appreciate. We've also eaten most everything on the menu. We like their breakfast sandwiches - classic, but well done. We've also had their lunch wraps (recommend the potato salad as a side!), bagels, muffins and some of their specials. We haven't encountered a bad one yet! Came here for breakfast while vacationing the area and loved this coffee shop. The set up is adorable, coffee is delicious, and so is their breakfast food. One time I had the breakfast sandwich on a bagel, the other time I had their breakfast burrito and they were both delicious. Staff is super nice and attentive, they wash their hands with hand sanitized after every interaction with a customer, and there's several bottles of hand sanitizer around the area.
