Here's some detail to understand the scope of the job. We have travertine on the floor in our entry way, dining room, kitchen, hallway and laundry room; we have limestone on the floor and the shower surround in the guest bathroom. It's a lot of stone. We had it installed over 20 years ago and never had it professionally cleaned - other than routine (not very frequent mopping by me) and the occasional house cleaner. We raised 2 active kids who trampled across those floors. It had a couple decades of heavy use and dirt buildup. Clearly - these stone floors were dirty and in need of some tender loving care. Paul and Derek came out last week and spent a full day deep cleaning all those surfaces. The difference is astonishing and immediately noticeable! These floors look almost new again. They cleaned, patched up the chips or where some of the resin/grout had come out, scrubbed, removed a sealer that I had put on the entry way and really paid attention to the details restoring these stones to their original beauty. Additionally, they were very respectful of us and our home. They protected the nearby surfaces and even my MDF baseboards from soaking up any water/cleaner. They cleaned up and left everything nice and tidy. I can without any reservation recommend Paul, Derek and The Beautiful Stone Company to anyone who wants to breathe new life into old stones. They exceeded our expectations and we will definitely use them again! We also have a new quartzite kitchen counter top that they applied a professional grade sealer to as well. I can't speak to how well the sealer will perform over time as it's only been a week, but I can see that it enhanced the natural beauty of the stone and liquids don't readily penetrate the surface. So in addition to making your stone surfaces look new again, they can seal those surfaces to help protect the them as well! Simply amazing work! Brand new condo in Newport with stone floor that looked ready to be ripped out. I thought it was from workers leaving the floor exposed and putting stuff on it. Paul thought it might be acid etching from the pictures but thought he could improve it. I was tired of dealing with the unresponsive builders and had zero confidence that they could fix anything. Paul wanted to look at the floor before getting any equipment off of the truck. He instantly recognized that these were sanding marks from trying to level the tiles - after he said it the marks did look like rotary sanding marks. About 2 hours later the floor looked brand new as it was. The white stained grout was from drywall dust that was sealed into the grout which was cleaned and sealed properly. Now the grout is dark gray as originally specified. By way he put on booties coming into the place and covered up everything with drop cloth and left the place looking exactly the same as he started. No dust, excess liquids, chemicals etc. Super neat and precise just like his work. Highly, highly recommend him for stone work. read more

Paul and Laura are professional, knowledgeable, honest and the real deal. I had them clean and seal my new porcelain pavers in my backyard which they did a beautiful job. But the real kicker was my new quartzite I installed in my kitchen. It is super porous and was actually staining in spots and I had barely used it. I even had another person come out and professionally seal it and try and get the stains out but was not very successful. I was so frustrated that I even considered getting rid of it. Paul and Laura to the rescue. He told me he was using a different sealant than the other person that tends to work better on very porous stone. He and Laura worked diligently on my stains and found the magic formula that got them out. He came back several times to make sure it was working. They truly care about their results! I've got one of those stories that will be in the family for a long time. My better half, God love her, spent several hours attempting to scrub the grout lines in our considerable square footage of travertine tile in our entryway. That's the good news. Unfortunately, it managed to heavily etch each and every piece of travertine to the point of needing replacement. But hold the phone - Better call Paul and Affordable Stone Care! After seeing considerable (100%) positive reviews here on Yelp I gave them a call and he diagnosed the problem immediately over the phone. Just to be sure, we set up an in home appt. a short time later and I quickly realized, as other reviewers have said, he knows his stuff. Not only did we not have to replace the travertine, he resurfaced the existing tile back to its brand new finish. While he was here, we added long overdue shower, bath, kitchen, floor slate, granite and marble cleaning and sealing all at reasonable costs, especially for the quality of work done.
