What a disappointment ‼ Reading the positive reviews had me fooled. There were a few that said he flaked out. I should have heeded those warnings. Really needed a tub refinish. He was scheduled to come on a Monday @ 10:00. I took the day off from work without pay. Got a text a little before 10:00 that he couldn't come due to car trouble, and would have to reschedule . I asked how bad it was and if he could come the next day, Tuesday. No response until 10:00 ON Tuesday that he could come thenI I was already at work, so said no. So.... schedule at your own risk!! PS. Paul, things don't always go as planned. Your site touts a 3 hour response time. Had you communicated, texted/phoned a response within 24 hours to reschedule, I would have accepted. Paul did an amazing job with our soon to be baby bathroom! With a baby on the way, my husband and I decided it was finally time to renovate our second guest bathroom. We re-did our master bathroom when we moved in but due to the high price of contractors and renovations, we held off on the second bathroom. The bathroom tub wasn't in terrible shape but it wasn't great either. We re-did the tile on the floor, put in a new toilet and vanity as well as a fresh coat of paint but the tub left us scratching our heads in terms of whether or not it needed to be replaced or just refinished. The tub was a yellow color, had multiple cracks in the tiling and was overall in poor to moderate shape. We found Paul through Yelp and was immediately very impressed with his quick response time and professional advice. We were debating whether or not to leave the door in or take it out and after finding out we had a baby on the way, he suggested to take it off to make it easier for baby bath time and accessing the tub itself. Brilliant! The whole process was quick and painless. In about half a day, he was able to TRANSFORM our dingy bathtub into a sparkling white beauty! Paul was incredibly detail oriented and was very friendly and efficient. He explained everything he was doing and also shared with us his cool story of how he got into this field. After he finished, there was a bit of water that dripped and caused an uneven surface near the tub drain. We were supposed to keep it dry for a while. Paul immediately offered to come back at no extra charge and fix this for us. Having gone through many contractors for the renovation of our home, I know this is a rare find. Usually once the job is done and you have paid your dues, nobody will come back on their own time and fix something that went wrong. In this case, a small imperfection. I contacted Paul to assist us with repairing a shower stall that had cracks and chips. My feeble attempt at repair, using fiberglass, was not helpful. Paul informed me that the main problem is that when the shower was installed, the installers did not apply a bed of mortar under the stall. Because of this missing, over time the fiberglass flexed and developed cracks. Paul did an outstanding job of repairing our shower stall. He cut out the damaged areas, laid down a layer of mortar, and installed new material that replaced the removed damaged material. After sanding and final repairs, he then re-glazed the shower stall with a wonderful white colored material. In talking to him he informed me that he likes repairing these type problems. For me he took the extra mile to really do a proper repair that eliminated the initial problem. Thank you Paul for all your help with our situation. On June 4 2020, I phoned The Tub Guy listed on this page. His message says to text him a photo of your project to get a quote. I did exactly that and after no response at all, I followed up with another text a week later asking if he got my text and had any questions. To this day I have never received any response. I hired Paul to not only refinish an old fiberglass tub and sink/counter area, but to also replace some cracked fiberglass at the bottom of the tub. His prices were reasonable and he was really sincere, detailed and straightforward about how the process worked. No upsells or anything like that. He came out on his day off for an estimate. Due to work, I knew I was not going to be available on the day of the refinishing. I gave him my keys and crossed my fingers.
