We ordered the calamari/zucchini appetizer which came out after a bit of a wait but was decent enough. There is a lot of breading on the calamari and the zucchini is sliced very thin. The marinara sauce that was served it with didn't add much of a taste so overall it was just ok. I ordered the squid ink pasta which I was taking a chance on but was curious as I have always wanted to try it. It came with frutti de mare as well with squid ink pasta. The dish was pretty which came with 3 shrimps which were lightly breaded, 5 mussels and squid (which the dish had a lot of tentacles). The squid ink pasta wasn't cooked to el dente which is stated on the menu. I was undercooked and very chewy to the point of just not being able to enjoy it. The light sauce that was cooked with the seafood and pasta was good but it did not have any of the Calabrian peppers which stated was included on the menu which is a bummer since I do enjoy those peppers a lot. My husband got the short rib pasta which the people to the left of us (the right of us was the wall) ordered as well and we saw the dish come out and thought to ourselves, "looks a bit mushy" I dont know if we should get that. Anyways, my husband loves short rib so he decided to get the dish. Again the pasta was undercooked which is a bummer and the short rib tomato sauce was very very sweet. We both did not enjoy the dish but my husband ate what he could and passed on the rest. We did not get dessert since we were not really wowed with the food so we didn't feel like taking a chance on the dessert options. The decor has not changed very much, still very European feeling. Service was Top notch... Very attentive. There were several large groups celebrating. Different events are just getting together and it didn't seem to affect the pace of the kitchen or the service. The stuff founder was one of the best I've had. The fish was fresh and the saffron sauce was light in lovely. Not the best scallopini I've had but it was still delicious. I think the veal needed to be beaten more. They had a happy hour special of appetizers that went along with the drink specials, and on Thursday nights they have half price bottle wines. The appetizers were outstanding. Since we were in the south, we had to try the Green Fried Tomatoes, which were good especially with the goat cheese garnishment . The Lobster Deviled Eggs were outstanding also. For entrees, our party had the halibut, the Steak au poivre, (2x, one medium and the other medium well) and the flounder. All of them were excellent, but special remarks must be given to the halibut. It was truly delicious. The deserts were a perfect closure. One negative comment: the wine availability was "meh". We ordered one bottle from the list that was not available. The substitution was ok. The white wine bottle we ordered as the seafood complement was adequate but did not match the otherwise extraordinary quality of everything else.
