I wanted to have great Italian food for our anniversary, that is also Valentine's Day. We prefer to go the day before to avoid the crowds. We drove about an hour to get there. Porto Di Venezia did NOT disappoint! We opted to go for a late lunch/early dinner. We were immediately greeted when we walked in. They weren't busy at all, which is what I was hoping for. They had soft music in the background and since it wasn't busy, we could hear each other and carry on a conversation!We were seated quickly and our waiter came over to take our drink order and ask if we had any questions. We opted to order from the lunch menu. It's great option, especially if you eat smaller portions and/or on a budget. The portions are perfect and it includes a soup or salad. I ordered the Lasagna Bolognese with the Sicilian Chicken soup. My husband ordered the Penne Bolognese (with sausage) with the Italian salad. Everything was SO delicious. We ordered the Limoncello cake to go. I have been craving a piece of this cake for so long, it was so satisfying to eat Definitely recommend coming here. It was the best Italian food I've ever had for a long time. I had chicken fettuccine pasta, very tasty and not too much garlicky it was perfect balance of flavors. The lemon cello cake was to died for. Our server was very friendly and the owner even stopped by to check on us that what I called quality service. This will probably become one of my regular spots to eat. I enjoyed a lovely dinner with my family. We all walked away happy with our experience. Environment. Modern, attractive, bright, welcoming. Nicely appointed dining room. Service. Top notch on both visits. We had different servers on each visit and both were excellent, professional, friendly. They also are well informed on the menu and meal ingredients. Cleanliness. I can't think of one thing I found offensive or subpar. The restrooms were spotless too. Food. They bring out bread with oil and vinegar to start. When you order your entre you have the choice of soup or salad. I chose salad with caesar dressing. I enjoyed the Chicken piccata for dinner. And based on my husband's recommendation from that dinner, I next tried the Carbonara for lunch. Both were delicious, well prepared, and memorable. Drinks. I barely walked out on my own two feet. LOL. I had a lemon drop martini to start. We shared a bottle of wine with dinner. Which equates to one large glass each. And for my dessert I had a chocolate martini. The drinks were delicious but strong. Be forewarned. Although I had a wonderful experience both times, I found it a little strange how the family that owns/runs this restaurant hangs out. They are not dressed professionally. They walk around in jeans and t-shirts and conduct conversations (loudly) and business like they are at home. I get it. It's their place they can do what they want. But it's weird and off putting to be dressed up and paying a lot for a dinner out - only to see the owner sitting in shorts and a t-shirt walking around talking loudly. It's disruptive and distracting. Just my opinion which you can toss out the window if you don't like. At the end of the day I will be back. read more

We reserved early because we were going to a concert. Out waitress understood our desires and was very responsive to our desire to eat expeditiously. The meal was first rate - from the Arancini appetizer to the main course of chicken parm and a delicious salad. Not only tasted great but was served piping hot with the spaghetti al dente. Let me start out by saying we love this restaurant. New Year's Eve we decided to have a couple appetizers and drinks compared to a full meal. All of it was great! What didn't go so well was the reception when we entered. We had a reservation for 6. We arrived at 5:40. Looking in to the bar area immediately we asked the girl if we could sit at one of the 3 high top tables that were available? She said, give me 20 minutes and I'll see if I can fit you in. What? I waited like 10 minutes ? (Nobody was still seated at the 3 high tops) seeing how 2 ladies left the end of the bar seats, I asked can we just sit there. She said sure. ?(she wasn't unfriendly during all this. Just seemed out of her element?) We were there for an hour and none of the 3 high tops were ever seated with anybody. I don't get it. Our 1st time at this restaurant. My husband had chicken Marcela and I had the lasagna. My husband rated his chicken as a "7"; his Marcela sauce was very good but the chicken was on the tough side. He did say his Caesar salad was good. My lasagna was maybe a "4"; the sauce had a strange taste to it and I've never had lasagna without ricotta. Being from an Italian family and known for making authentic lasagna, lasagna is not lasagna without ricotta. I had soup and a wedge salad; it had hard bacon bits and a ton of blue cheese dressing...and a chicken soup that was pretty flavorless. I will say the best part of the meal was the flourless chocolate cake...absolutely delicious! Tasted more like a fudge but worth every bite! We drove almost an hour to get here, and it did not disappoint! It's a small, super cute spot with amazing food and drinks. Junior is a seriously talented mixologist--we probably ordered way too many of his drinks, but it was so fun watching him do his thing. I had the Carbonara with salmon, and my husband got the spicy seafood Amatriciana (I'm pretty sure it's just because I'm allergic and he didn't want to share!). Been to here twice now. Highly recommend their pasta dishes! Lobster Ravioli was really good. Rich and dense sauce, but not overpowering. Spicy Seafood Amatriciana is my favorite so far. The chunky tomato sauce with a slight bit of heat makes it incredibly warm and appetizing. There was a generous amount of seafood too, the portion was big enough to bring leftovers home. Had the Filet Mignon tonight. Steak was well seasoned, cooked beautifully, and super tender. I'm usually a big fan of risotto but this was a little too gritty for me. It's tasty though, I just have odd preferences. Customer service is a 20 out of 10. Not sure if the tall blonde lady is the owner but she's just the kindest human. The first time I went, my server was Maida (I think that's how she spelled her name, caught a quick glimpse of her name tag). Second time was Devon. Both were incredibly friendly. Really amazed by the hospitality of this Italian restaurant. Almost feels like you're home away from home. I don't drink so I couldn't tell ya about the wine but it looks like they've got a great selection. read more

This was a to go order so I cannot comment on the atmosphere. I will say that the order was ready as promised and the pick up went smoothly. The quantity of food is quite fair for the price and the quality was mid line. The biggest issue was that the food did not taste good to most of us not bad, just no one said " wow this is really good" There were some inconsistencies ex: 2 of us ordered spaghetti one person had half the noodles of the other but it had a generous portion of sauce. The other had twice as many noodles but barely any sauce. The meatballs were ok, 2 large meatballs however they had no flavor and probably more filler than meat. The sausage were 2 barely browned Italian sausage just layed on top of noodles whole. The Chicken Marsala had a wonderful flavor, tasted great but where were the mushrooms? sauce was more of a glaze? The diner who ordered the Marsala said he always orders and although this tasted good he didn't feel like he had Chicken Marsala. The salads were good and the Italian chicken soup was flavorful. Nothing was provided( and we never asked, just assumed) as far as cutlery, napkins, butter for bread. If in the area I would give this place another try, maybe just a rough night for take out. I just would not be expecting great Italian but just good food. Three stars because not really good, but not really bad. read more

Service was fantastic. Giggles (yes, that's her nickname) is absolutely kind, wonderful, delightful and funny. We ordered the calamari and the bruschetta. The pepperoncini peppers with the lemony sauce was delicious. Bruschetta was good, just needed a missing basil. I ordered the black linguini with shrimp and scallop and my husband ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. Both pastas were overcooked and clumped together. Mine had a white sauce that I was perplexed about. I couldn't figure out what it was. Just too heavy, overpowering the delicate taste of the linguini. My husbands meatballs were too "wet" nothing binding them and not much of a flavor. His pasta was the same, overcooked and lumped together. read more

This place opened a couple of years ago and I honestly was not impressed with the food. It tasted like something that came off a Sysco truck. My neighbors and I decided to give it another try. We went on a Sunday and were surprised that it wasn't super busy, but we went early and the crowds did trickle in while we were there. We dined inside the restaurant, but it would have been a great night for al fresco and they have a nice decent-sized patio. I ordered the stuffed pork chop marsala with mashed potato and spinach, and a side of parmesan green beans. My neighbors went Sicilian basic with a Chicken Parmigiana and spaghetti and meatballs. All orders came with a house or caesar salad and some hard rolls. The bread was easily the lowest point of the meal. My pork chop was juicy and perfectly cooked, with great cheese pull on the stuffing inside. I wouldn't say the marsala sauce is typical, it's more of a reduction / glaze than I'm used to. But it was tasty and suited the entree really well. I paired it with a dry prosecco. My neighbors also liked their dishes, and we had plenty of leftovers to take home. The prices are a little high on some of the dishes - $16.00 for spaghetti is an eye-roll for me - but the food was tasty and Sergio, our waiter, was attentive and welcoming. I'd definitely do this place for a business lunch / date night spot. It's much more of a competitor to someplace like Carrabba's than to Italian Oven. read more

Delicious Italian food. The soups are all wonderful. They have three to choose from, and are all very tasty and homemade. But you can choose a salad as another option to start your meal. Their fish dishes are all excellent. They are the best items on their menu. Without a doubt the stars of the show, as they are all cooked perfectly and are very filling. The only thing I don't like is their side of fettuccine Alfredo, as it is a little plain in my opinion; but that wasn't my main entrée. I have also tried the lasagna, and it is hearty and flavorful. A fantastic option for a traditional Italian dish. Service is usually fantastic and wonderfully attentive. Just one of the many great aspects that make dining here a treat. The beautifully warm tones and decor gives an upscale ambiance to this restaurant. It is an excellent choice for a date night or group dinner. I would not recommend this place. Way over priced for the quality and service. It started as soon as we arrived for our reservation. We waited for some time at the front counter to be seated. Then we waited again for a long time for our dinner. Having to order an extra set of bread to hold us over. Our waiter was very alouf and had no sense of urgency. Then the dishes came and the quality was very underwhelming. The carbonara was very soupy. The seafood cannelloni was very mealy on the inside an hard on the outside. Then came the bill. It was over 200 for 3 of us!! And the best part, all three of us got sick. As a person who loves all things Italian, and visits once a year, this is non bene! read more

We were visiting friends in PTC and decided to go out for dinner at a new Italian restaurant they had tried once before. It was busy and the servers were having to hustle but Devon was attentive and anything deficient was corrected quickly (we didn't have set-ups so appetizers were delivered before we had cutlery to eat it.) Quickly and cheerfully rectified. Maria is an owner and you could see her striking silver hair gliding around the room checking on customers. At her suggestion I ordered the Mushroom ravioli and it didn't disappoint. A "brown" plate of food might not look exciting, but the flavor of the mushrooms packed into the ravioli surrounded by cream sauce that had a hint of marsala was perfect. My husband ordered carbonara, my friends the scampi and chicken fettuccine and were happy expect for noting they wishing the fettuccine was a little saucier and needed more chicken. My dirty vodka martini with blue cheese olives was tasty. The only disappointment of the night was the special apple caramel cheesecake. We tasted nothing of apple or caramel. It was plain, uninspired cheesecake. Wouldn't order again. They do have gelato in the back though, but you might not see it on the menu. I laughingly had to explain that we southerners eat ice cream desserts year round! We'll be back!
