An incredible coffee shop and a great last hurrah on our day trip to Bellville. Not sure what the country of origin was on the drip coffee, but it was delicious. I absolutely love stopping here when I come through Bellville. The staff is always so nice and cheerful. It was only 9:30 in the morning, but I was really wanting to try some of their soup specials. I put a picture in here so you can see what the current specials are. They also have their holiday drinks right now, the Cinnabon is amazingly addictive. I also grabbed two new things to try: pumpkin cake, pops, and s'mores macaron It has such a small town fuel, it's quaint, it's clean, a local vibe. It's roomy and cozy at the same time. read more

This little coffee shop has come a long way! We enjoy a nice latte here. They have several syrup flavor options as well as sugar free ( my daughter is Type 1). The service is great and the coffee shop is trendy and in a great location. They now serve lunch items and they are pretty tasty. read more

Where do I begin? I love this place. For starters, I love coffee and I love books. Bellville Perk has awesome coffee and there is a BOOK store attached to it. The Story Peddler. This is small town America at it's best. A multi-generational meeting spot in town. Mamas and their kiddos. People working. Old timers in their overalls and cowboy hats. Straight out of a Norman Rockwell. Is service slow once in a while? Yup. It happens. So what? Did they not nail your perfectly articulated chemistry experiment with 45 modifications? Nope, they gave it their best shot and for real anyway? You should probably brew your own Peter Persnickity pants. They have seating inside and out. Take your pick. Pull up a chair and sit for a spell. Meet someone new, or not. This place is great. It's a small town coffee shop in a small town owned by people that live there. Perfect? Never. Just right? Always. First time here. Thought it was just a coffee shop but they also have food and desserts. All made in house except the baked goods which are from local bakeries. I had a delicious chicken salad sandwich and iced chai latte (also delicious). Friendly staff, clean and very quaint. There's a shelf with board games, a couch & coffee table, a deck with a giant connect four game and there is a book store attached. Nice atmosphere. Will definitely back. read more

It's taken me 3 years to finally write a review of this shop mainly which could very much be related to the fact that I am getting old and maybe my memory is finally starting to fail. Nonetheless, let's try this now as I sit here. As always let's start service. Fairly simple here, well above average. Staff is always friendly and given the volume of business they receive they do a good job of getting orders out quickly. Occasionally they forget that they put a muffin in the microwave or give you that water you asked for however that may be more related to how very young the normal staff member is here getting at times slightly overwhelmed by the 20 different customers at the same time and losing tract though 'old folk' like me have that problem at times as well. The atmosphere is great. Diggin' the small-town feel. It is clear they actually know their regulars which many of who they may have known all their lives but given that Bellville is a fairly major pass-thru traveling from IH10 to parts north such as Brenham and College Station where it is not uncommon to see traffic jams at the railroad tracks, they seem to get some of that business from those just driving by. One to the product. Let's start with the food items. To be fully honest I truly would love to hedge my review of the food given the overall perspective I have of this place, but I feel I should be completely honest in saying the food choices are a little underwhelming. It appears that they do not produce their own product in-house or at least it feels that way. Limited selection when compared to other coffee shops in this market space. Simply put very prepackages-feeling with quality above the average convenient store but well below the only other option in Bellville that could be considered a competitor who makes their own similar products though that comparison may could be viewed as unfair as that other business is really not in the same space. The close nearby better matched comparison is in the next city over who does bake their own good and provide a much tastier product. In short, the food product here is fair. Get to the coffee you say. Well ok, the coffee is pretty good. Does not try to mimic Starbucks, the very low bar of options around here. Though I would prefer a bit more coffee flavor and less mocha but that is a palette preference which is more suited to a harsher mocha flavor in my coffee. The mocha should just be enough to cut the bitterness of the coffee similar to mocha's that can be found in Mexico which tends to use a much less sweetened cacao introducing a slight spice to the flavor. But you know us Americans, we like sugar. Overall, the coffee is mid-way between average and very good. I guess that would be good on that scale. The major CON would be given the volume of costumers who come in with laptops only to find out there are only to two available outlets in the place is unfortunate. This really limits adding to the potential customer-base from business users who may just be looking for a comfortable place to work other than home, or college students or professors who attend the nearby college. I must interject here that I fit into both those groups so my view may be a bit slanted. If they would make a change to this one issue, I would most likely use this as my base much more often than the once a month or two or three that I do. Keep in mind, most coffee shops I see where a lot of business folk or students frequent will produce more revenue as many are like myself and will make a trip to the sales counter more than once. Heck, when I was a professor, I would hold office hours in a neighborhood coffee shop which produced more revenue for the business. Just a thought. Overall, I like this place, and they clearly provide something that is not in Bellville in their space. The closest matching business that fits in this space closely is a 20-minute drive to Brenham and though that's not very far when compared to the big-city however in these small communities 5 minutes is much preferred. I will continue to visit keeping it on my coffee shop rounds hoping that they correct the lack of power issue which would elevate it to my top three locations for coffee in the area which requires a more frequent visit. read more

Great service. Chicken salad sandwiches were very tasty. Holiday iced coffee drink was very good.

I got a hot ham and cheese sandwich and a lemonade. The sandwich was amazing. The lemonade was ok. Next time I plan to try a smoothie or a coffee drink. I went through the drive thru and it took about 15 minutes because they make each sandwich to order. The person manning the window was very nice. read more

It's the only coffee shop in town so I keep giving them another try, but honestly, the drinks are mediocre at best. The first time I stopped I was the only person in the shop, but the drink took a while to make. The second time, the drink was pretty good. The third time, they were out of ice in the middle of the day and couldn't make most of the drinks on their menu (frappes and smoothies). Today was my fourth and final visit. The dome Frappuccino lids do not fit the cups so she had to pour most of my drink out to accommodate the whipped cream. I didn't even taste the drink until I got to work (less than 5 mins from the shop) when I noticed the whipped cream had separated from the drink. It's the only coffee shop in town. I've only been a few times. Those few times I have not been disappointed. I've tried their smoothies, Frappuccinos, and the ice coffee. They have tables inside and free WiFi. There is also an outside area on the deck. I really recommend stopping by and getting your coffee here. read more

Latte could use improving but good enough to stop. The real turn off is the dead silence when you walk in. No music and no ambiance. I've begged them for music. If there are multiple people it's discouraging to talk in fear everyone is open to hear the conversation. Furniture isn't comfortable but that isn't a huge issue given the reasons no not to stay. The staff are pleasant but not overwhelming greeting. It seems that when I arrive I interrupt the employee doing homework. All coffee shops don't have to be Starbucks but understand why people enjoy visiting the largest and most successful coffee shop. read more
