We have been stopping here on our way to the H-town area for over 10 years. As you enter you can immediately smell and see their large assortment of kolaches and homemade pies and pastries. They also offer sandwiches and wraps. I love their chicken salad wrap! There are a few tables but most folks get their goodies to go. They do have coffee and some cold drinks. The attached convivence store has a full assortment of drinks. Service is always friendly and I believe some of the folks behind the counter have been there for many years. Pro tip: Parking in front by the gas pumps and convenience store is hectic. Park on the side by the bakery entrance. read more

I like to buy kolaches whenever passing through the Czech areas in the I-35-I-45-I-10 triangle. This is my first time stopping at Weikel's, and while the kolaches were good, the price is astronomical. Two dollars fifty cents for one of middling size when just a few short years ago they were under a dollar. The store was clean, the service was friendly, but man that price! read more

Didn't even know this place existed until my friend mentioned if we could stop by as we were passing through la grange! They have a hugeeee selection of kolaches, desserts, and deli items. I ended up going with a savory and sweet option for kolaches. I got the sausage with jalapeños and cheddar cheese, which was delectable, especially when paired with the salsa packet, which I grabbed from the side where the napkins were. The strawberry was good, but it would've been even better combined with the cream cheese! Love a fruity and creamy duo. Employees were extremely sweet and helpful. Weikel's is a great place to make a pit stop! Seems like it is a popular spot because there were a lot of people sitting at the tables. read more

You *must* stop here and stock up on kolaches and jams before traveling through this town! The fruit kolaches were pillow soft and filled with happiness to carry with you. We always try to stop here and get something. Next time will be pie and coffee. There is plenty of parking, clean bathrooms shared with the gas station store, and limited indoor seats. As a small business, you'd think they'd value their customers, but clearly that's not the case. The attitude, the lack of basic courtesy, and the way they handle issues is unbelievable. True Czech kolaches!!! It takes special talent to get the correct texture for the bread in true kolaches in my opinion. To be clear, I'm not talking about the typical pig-in-a-blanket. The kolaches are out of this world. They kept in the fridge for a long time afterwards as well and never lost their soft amazing texture. The cream cheese kolaches were our favorite. The Apple and Strawberry were excellent as well. They were out of strawberry cream cheese though I imagine the combo would be super good. Highly recommend a stop when coming through that area. They have their single serve options or packages of different flavors on the shelf nearby. I recommend going toward the earlier part of the day because they won't have as big of a selection in the afternoon/evening. read more

The apple pie was very dry and stale. It looked aesthetically pleasing but had zero flavor. no impressed with my purchase of the whole pie.

We stopped here and grabbed a few things for the car ride home and I would say it's hit or miss with this place. The chocolate chip cookie was really good, the lemon square was awful and one of the worst I've ever had! The pecan pie was pretty good and the banana bread was dry. 6.25.22 On one of our trips to Brenham we stopped in here for a dessert snack on 6.19.22. I was a little concerned with a few Yelp reviews but we decided to make our own decision. (For the review showing a gross mess on their ceiling...their ceiling did not have that at all.) We did not know it was attached to a gas station. It was late afternoon when we stopped in and they did not have a lot. They had kolaches in a few different flavors, cookies and a few pies. We ended up not buying anything this trip but will stop here again earlier in the day. read more

We stopped while traveling home to Louisiana from the central Texas area. We pass this bakery every year and have always wanted to stop. It's located within a busy gas station and at times the parking lot is very full. The bakery was very clean and the staff was very attentive and polite. The food was great! The cream cheese kolache was delicious. Soft tasty bread with a delicious cream cheese topping. We also ordered jalapeño and cheese kolaches which were also very good. Soft bread, real sausage. Weikel's is one of the family's favorite bakery. We always stop by to get our kolache and klobesnik fix in La Grange when we go to Austin on HWY 71. With this road to Round Rock, we went with HWY 290. We were surprised there was a Weikel's outpost in the city of Breham. My oldest daughter who was visiting from Baltimore had to stop by to get some klosbesniks, she really missed them. She was able to pick up 12 sausage & cheese and 6 sausage & jalapeños at 25% dicount, total cost was less than $30. She was planning to take some home to Baltimore. This out post is located at a gas station and much smaller than the original. There was plenty of parking and the employees were super nice. My oldest daughter was very happy. read more

Oh, Have Mercy! With this virus mess, we were in Brenham for a gathering of 6 people, quickly, and we came to find a breakfast type bite. I Could have eaten about 6 kolaches, but I Did eat only one cherry one. My friends, That is willpower, because I refuse to gain the "Corona 15". In the future, when in Brenham, this will be one of my first stops. The shop is not large, but has a nice selection of many kolaches and other treats, coffee, and drinks, as well. Very clean and bright, with nice staff. We also got a cream cheese pastry that was very rich and delicious. I love kolaches, and they Must be that perfect balance of a soft bread "roll", not too sweet", where it lets the filling lend the sweetness to the overall experience. Weikel's bakery is joint with the gas station so you can fill up gas and get your goodies! They also sell pickles okras and pickled items that is fabulous! We stopped in for gas and a pit stop on the way to Austin from Houston. What a lucky chance, we hit the Kalache jackpot! They make em fresh here daily, unlike a certain beaver station who freezes and heats them later. They should have a fresh hot light like K Kreme so you know when the cream is gooey inside. The fillings are fresh ingredients with several sensations to tempt you with. Crunchy poppy seeds, chewy coconut and pecan bits dazzle my gums and get stuck in my heart. I wash it down with cold and brew coffee on tap with a splash of local dairy cream. The warm cream cheese melts to the core of my memories of grandma baking bread and pecan pies on a Saturday just before church on Sunday for family dinners. I wish they sold buckets of butter so I could slather the fresh breads with all the jars of jelly. Nick is in charge of this Kalache kingdom and I was happy to meet and eat with him today. Kiss the kalache ring and you will be a devotee for life. read more

I always stop here when I come through Brenham. I like to take some kolaches home to freeze for later--if they aren't all devoured beforehand. Eight days ago I spotted a new flavor--pumpkin. Stopped in to get gas and decided to go in to check out the bakery. The woman was so lovely and friendly. She offered plenty of information about the different baked goods. She offered for me to try the poppy seed kolache after I asked about it which I was surprised (in a good way) about. We got the pecan cinnamon bun, lemon bar and the poppy seed kolache. We just ate the cinnamon bun and it was the best I've had to date! We had it warmed and it had the perfect balance of flavor and soft yummy dough. The shop was clean and well taken care of. Ok, this is a local (regional) bakery in this region, and I've been to them each... but have always preferred this location, always seems their stuff is much fresher than the other locations! Love the sweet kolaches, and the meat Klobasneks! They have a Hatch Green Sausage one that's is the bomb, note it doesn't set in your stomach like a bomb either, I mean it is awesome, must try! My son loves all the cookies, doesn't have a favorite, they're all equally amazing! You must try this place, and the staff is amazing, the only reassign for not giving them a 5 Star review today is the long wait, need more staff during peak hours, however it's worth the wait, other than that, the food is 5 star worthy! read more
