One of my favorite spots was the pool bar on the 8th floor. I loved the canopy over the bar. It was absolutely beautiful. I spend most of my time there. The pool was not to big but long. It had a nice view. I was happily surprised with the room they prepared for the soccer tournament with the multiple TVs playing the different games and the table games. That was a nice touch. I absolutely love The Ben West Palm Autograph Collection, Ben Trovato Estate. This boutique hotel is simply exquisite. 'Ben Trovato' means "well found" or "well invented". From the moment of arrival to departure, we were treated very well. The Ben is breathtakingly decorated with greenery and art design to mimic the appearance and beauty of what Palm Beach represents. At check in, Angelina provided us with complimentary spring water in beautifully designed water boxes and our wristband room keys. The complimentary Paloma Angelina presented was sinfully delicious. What a great way to start our stay. Our waterfront rooms faced the Palm Harbor Marina with views overlooking the harbor, Codes (stainless steel and glass sculptures), and a view of Palm Beach Island and the Intracoastal Waterway. In room amenities included thick plush towels, soft robes and slippers. Closets also included a safe, full size ironing board, iron, and a steamer. Two large umbrellas hung in the closet in case of rainy weather. The bar and refrigerator were stocked with alcohol, snacks, and more water. The beds are comfortable and featured sheets stitched with The Ben's name and logo. Hotel amenities included a rooftop pool, glass elevator, gym, and room service. Complimentary bikes and shuttle services are available. Bruno, a Circuit vehicle, provides rides exclusively for The Ben guests anywhere within a 2 mile radius of the hotel. There is also a Book Butler that can bring you a curated and rotated book delivered on a silver platter! Tatianna, at the Front Desk, answered questions and provided good breakfast recommendations. Kevin, Bell Services, was also helpful. He made sure I had all the information on how to schedule a ride with Bruno and that we had water boxes for our trip and activities we had planned for the day. Kevin also provided good recommendations for places to visit and things to do. I would not hesitate staying at the Ben next time I am in the West Palm Beach. I am so happy we "found" this hotel! The location is ideal to restaurants, the water and for exercising. Beds and rooms were very comfortable . I always love that Marriott's are so generous with water ... thank you for that ! This one is dog friendly so we got to get in some loving for other dogs while here !! We were here for a conference and facilities were great for that as well . Absolutely magical holiday experience! My kids were beyond excited -- this ice rink has quickly become one of our favorite Christmas spots in Palm Beach. The ice is real, and if there's a big crowd, they resurface it every 90 minutes, which keeps it smooth and perfect. Kids can skate from 4 years old, and the $10 ticket includes skates and the adorable beginner helpers -- the seal and the reindeer. You can even seat a child on the seal and push them around, which my girls LOVED! Adult ticket is $25. There's a cozy rest area with blankets, a small holiday market, and delicious hot chocolate. For kids, they have fun activities like decorating a giant cardboard gingerbread house, plus a beautiful exhibit of Christmas trees, each uniquely decorated. My daughters were obsessed with the Grinch tree, the one with pink beach umbrellas, and the one with yellow sunshine accents -- so creative and adorable! On Sundays, Santa comes out on the ice -- you can watch him skate and take pictures with him. It's such a sweet touch and made the day even more special. Parking is parallel, limited, and up to 2 hours. The price is $2.50 per hour. The location is great -- only 5 minutes from Rosemary Square / CityPlace, which makes it super convenient to plan a whole festive day. I live close by and I was going in every morning for breakfast but the food is not great. I had the avocado toast but I could honestly make a better version myself. My latte was also on the cool sideVery disappointed. It had no flavor. Would be nice if they added balsamic vinegar and something like sprouts and flaxseeds to give some texture. I prepaid $1,361.66 through Chase Travel for a four-night stay at The Ben, Autograph Collection. The assigned room was unsafe, unsanitary, and uninhabitable. After arriving extremely late due to flight delays, I, a solo female traveler, checked in hoping to get a few hours of rest before my doctoral residency at 8:00 a.m. the next morning. Already exhausted from travel and a long drive, I entered a room with the following conditions (all verifiable through attached photos): 1. Corridor door had a 2-2.5" gap, defeating security and climate control and letting in pests, odors, and noise. 2. The in-room HVAC controller showed 69-73% humidity for over an hour--far above safe standards (time-stamped photos from the hotel's own controller). 3. Vents and fixtures were coated with heavy dust and microbial growth (I have never seen vents this filthy in my life); bathroom showerhead was calcified; grout was missing; the bath rug was dirty; there was visible microbial growth in several corners and grout lines; grime on the floors; lifting tiles; and a large unsealed hole near the track lighting, with cobwebs and dust throughout. 4. Within one hour, my documented contact dermatitis became severely inflamed and excruciatingly painful (time-stamped photos). I thought I could push through for a few hours of sleep, but the conditions and pain were unbearable. At 1:07 a.m. I entered a 73-minute three-way call with the front desk and Chase Travel. During this call, the property repeatedly put the Chase representative on hold, stated no manager was available, sent no one to inspect the room, and offered no remedy. After the call ended (~2:20 a.m.), I was told no refund could be made because of The Ben's refusal, and no assistance could be given to secure another hotel since it was past normal check-in hours. I was forced to vacate and, after many desperate calls, secured the only available room I could find--at another Marriott property--parking there at 3:12 a.m., only hours before my doctoral residency began. This ordeal left me physically harmed, severely sleep-deprived, and unprepared for an academic requirement I had traveled to attend--something I have worked toward for over seven years and invested hundreds of thousands of dollars to achieve. I submitted a detailed written demand with photos, logs, receipts, and a medical reaction timeline. Despite this, Marriott Corporate/OCA has since claimed the General Manager, Mr. Bernardo Neto, has "been trying to contact me." This is false. I have no emails, no calls, and no voicemail messages from Mr. Neto. All of my notices have been in writing, and I require the same from the property. Unrecorded assertions of outreach are not credible and reflect exactly how this property handles serious issues--with stall tactics and hollow claims. Bottom line: The Ben failed to provide safe lodging, abandoned me during a documented health emergency, and left me without resolution after a 73-minute call between myself, Chase Travel, and their front desk. Well over a month later, they still have not issued the refund or compensation I requested. I am filing formal complaints with: 1. Florida DBPR -- Division of Hotels & Restaurants (sanitation and lodging safety oversight) 2. Florida Department of Health -- Palm Beach County (Environmental Public Health) 3. Palm Beach County Consumer Affairs (local mediation and enforcement) 4. Florida Attorney General -- Consumer Protection Division (unfair/deceptive practices under FDUTPA) 5. U.S. Department of Justice -- Civil Rights Division (ADA Title III) (failure to provide reasonable modifications, abandonment during health incident) 6. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) (false advertising, unfair or deceptive practices) 7. Heading down to West Palm on the new Brightline. Looking for a Marriott property close to the train station. The Ben fit the bill and more. Incredible hotel just blocks from the station and right in the heart of the main part of town. Checking in was a breeze! Even got a checking in cocktail! headed up to a very nice room just not a real good view as it was facing west. But still not bad. Hotel has a rooftop pool and bar. We didn't go swimming, but we did visit the bar. Spruzos. Very laid back with great cocktails and food. The downstairs restaurant / bar the Proper Grit was equally as amazing. Sat at the bar at night then when back in the morning for breakfast. Take note if you breakfast is included it is a seperate menu and you should ask for it before you order. Also for the upstairs bar I highly recommend getting a high top outside by the pool. They wait on you there and the views so much nicer than inside. Overall, this is a top tier place. From the decor and great dane statues everywhere to the art that is everywhere. Incredible place. On 8/8, the housekeeping knocked on the door, not with her knuckles, but with what may have been a key or an item that was very loud. She didn't just knock and wait for an answer, as I only had about 12 feet to walk to the door to open it, she pounded on the door with the item. I did not stand up angry to answer the door, but ended up angry by her psychotic continuous knocking as if the building were on fire. She does not speak a drop of English so I opened the door and waved her in and told her to do whatever she came to do. I was working at the desk on my computer. Housekeeping came assuming I was checking out but of course I couldn't communicate with her that I wasn't. She did not come in, so I called the desk and told them about the situation. They sent the housekeeping supervisor. He seemed to tell her to make up the room so she came in and I sat a the desk. She stripped the bed completely and did some activity in the bathroom but I had not even showered or been there 24 hours yet. She asked me, kind of, through what I could gather, if the room was clean. That is not my judgement to make nor should I be involved in approving her work which I told her, even though she doesn't speak English. She was annoying as one could possibly be. She left, and I scanned the room and her work was not acceptable, as she didn't fully make the bed with the decorator pillow, nor did she clean chocolate bar trash from the nightstand. I'm not a princess by any means but I do expect if one makes a bed, they make it 100%. It was morning, not evening. I expect the housekeeper to clean up trash. I expect whatever I am to get for the $350 room price. I called the desk to tell them this, and they sent up JAKE. Jake who had his name tag upside down and Jake who stood in the doorway with body language and attitude like I do not matter and he was inconvenienced by his job responsibilities. I explained the situation to Jake and he very condescendingly claimed the issue was over the "pillow placement". Not at all. The issue was in totality from start to finish, that the housekeeping pounded on the door, involved me in telling her what to do, then not even doing a good job. Jake mocked me further by placing the pillow on the bed and collecting the trash wrappers as well. When I emphasized that the woman dose not speak English, Jake replied by stating that YOU, the hotel, are "tolerant" of that. You can surely make that decision for yourself, but it's not a reasonable expectation FOR ME to manage communicating with her since she can't speak English, nor is it insulting to her. IT'S A FACT OF THE MATTER. None of dealing with her IS MY JOB OR RESPONSIBILITY. Jake kept pressing me to claim if I wanted a deep cleaning or regular cleaning, still mocking me for the entirely of the issue. I did not invite the woman. I did not ask for housekeeping. I was irritated by her pounding on the door. SOME PEOPLE MIGHT STILL BE SLEEPING. So you may think, why didn't I put do not disturb or clean the room on the door? Well nobody told me about the big tassels hanging on the wall and I really didn't need either anyway. But let's keep going about the entirety of this horrible stay. I only even knew of the tassels on my 2nd night because I saw them on other people's doors. The Do Not Disturb tassel is missing the sign plate on it. When I showered after Jake left, the gel soap container in the shower had not a single drop of gel in it. Not a drop. So how well is housekeeping doing exactly?? The next day Aline came to the room where I told her the story and she told it to Adam who said he would address this situation. At 6:30 pm on Saturday night, a bottle of champagne was brought to my room from Aline, which was thoughtful, but I don't drink, and even if I did, why would I want to drink a bottle of champagne alone in my room? I wouldn't. Through the text messaging app of the hotel, I told them that, and said. if you want to take care of me, send a steak medium rare. The communication was now being handled by Destiny. She offered me a $50 dining credit. That is not buying me a steak in The Ben Hotel which I told her. So then she asked if a Ribeye would be ok, medium. I replied, I said medium rare. She said about 40 minutes. The worst looking pathetic steak arrived, with nothing else on the plate. I mean if you want to take care of me, can you send a dinner? A potato? Some vegetables? The lack of hospitality is astounding. So I texted for steak sauce. Destiny replied, she didn't know I wanted any. Well it's protocol to include steak sauce in room service. Then I sliced into the steak and it was medium to well and I told Destiny I wanted another one. She said they have no more Ribeye steaks on the premises. They have a steak house on site but no Ribeyes? LOL This is already too long. After I sent an email complaint I heard from a high up guy and then I heard from Jake, with a pathetic apology. Meh, we stayed here because my husband had points. Note to self: use points, get a handicap room. We asked to upgrade on check in (which we would have paid for) but they said no, they were full. Our room was odd. Our view faced a wall with a peek a boo of neighboring property's pool. There was a huge gap at the bottom of the door so we heard every single conversation in the hallway including every single door slam and elevator ding. There were more grab bars in the shower than a prison cell. The pool area is small. Good luck getting a seat, this was nearly impossible and they shut down pool service at 4pm including removing the pool lounges for dinner service. If we had known that, definitely would not have stayed here. I will say the waitresses at the pool were terrific, best hospitality in the hotel. The hotel itself is pretty, just was a disappointment. Also, in the morning, you can go down to the bar for coffee but alas they had no cups out two mornings in a row. The rooftop restaurant was fun but again, it's small up there so seating is minimal. Stay at the Ben for 4 nights, $1,170 a night, and ask for an extension of one night at the front desk, which they agreed, but was charged an additional $500, plus parking is $60 day compared to a garage next store at $30 day. I complained when I checked out but the front desk acted liked they could care whether I would come back or not. The Hotel is average all around, food , rooms, service, a/c broke, and I never got a phone call from the management. I'll never go back there. read more

Apologize for the long review... The review of this hotel was certainly not expected, and to be honest, I had never heard of this establishment until an emergency stared me in the face. While transitioning through West Palm Beach, Florida, en route to Miami, I experienced a medical emergency that landed me in the hospital for six days. Once the ER staff told me I would not be leaving, my wife scrambled to find lodging as our original lodging was about an hour and a half away in Miami. With my limited mobility due to tubes and electrodes hanging out of my body, I was really no help to her as night started to fall. She called me and told me she had found a place called "The Ben!" It could have been called "The Mark," "The Derrick," or the "Bo and Luke Duke," I didn't care as long as it was safe. Most importantly, it allowed her to get off the street as night was settling in, she would be responsible for all of our luggage, and she would be trying to get back to the hospital. I was having a fit because she was all alone, so I was ecstatic that she found somewhere to stay. When she checked in, the manager "Crystal" could see the anxiety on my wife's face and jumped in to take care of her and her needs. My wife explained that she needed a room due to the circumstances regarding my stay in the hospital, and this was one of the closest hotels to the hospital. She said she had no idea how long she would need the room, but she needed a room. Crystal did not hesitate to find a room for my wife and reiterated that she and her staff would be there for her especially considering the circumstances. Side Bar: You can always tell positive and negative influences on people. When my wife returned to the hospital, all I heard was how great Crystal and her staff treated her. There was a little mix-up with the rooms, as two different rooms were assigned to my wife. Once they reconciled which room she was supposed to be in, the hotel staff came to move our belongings to the correct room. When I tell you, they took any additional stress from my wife as she was utterly flustered due to the series of events. Fast forward six days, and I was finally released from the hospital, but we still needed to get back to Miami. Being that it was late, I wanted to at least experience one day in the hotel, so instead of getting on the road at night, we decided to stay the night, so I could experience the hotel and get some much-needed rest. This hotel is absolutely amazing. I understand why my wife talked about the staff every day she returned to the hospital. The doormen, the bellhops, the cleaning staff, servers, servers, you name it; they are the epitome of customer service and caring. No matter what we needed, the staff did not hesitate to ensure we got it. They have a couple of restaurants on the property, "Proper Grit" and "Spruzzo," but the one that draws the most attention is the roof-top pool bar "Spruzzo!" We dined for lunch, and it was no disappointment. I was starving... not sure when was the last time you all stayed in a hospital, but the food is not that great in the hospital, so I was looking forward to this meal. We ordered a dozen oysters on the half shell, lollipop lamb chops, and Paella Stew. GOOD LAWD! This food was absolutely amazing (or I was starving). The staff in the restaurant were excellent and knew the menu like the back of their hands. They were very vocal about what they preferred and what people ordered the most. I could go on and on, but this review will become overwhelming. The rooms were terrific, the staff was fantastic, and the food was outstanding. I recently visited this hotel because my cousin stayed here for a night. I was pretty excited when she told me where she was staying, because I had not been here yet. She found The Ben because she is a Marriott member of some sort ,and this is a Marriott property. I was just excited about hanging at Spruzzo, their rooftop bar for a drink, and surely Saturday night at midnight was the perfect time to go, right? I had no idea that downtown West Palm was so utterly dead at that moment. I street parked literally next to the hotel, for free cuz after midnight. Guess this isn't surprising since both the restaurant and the rooftop bar were closed by then. Yikes! Had fun waiting in the epic lobby and enjoying the beautiful furniture and decor. The eerily empty yet still lit restaurant and living room area (complete with art bookcase and fireplace) looks straight out of a film. When my cousin met me in the lobby, we did take the special rooftop elevator to the roof to find bartenders and a handful of bargoers in full swing, but since technically it was closed, we didn't venture far. Even the hallways are regal and stunning. I love the gold dog statues everywhere. The room itself was also stunning in its visual beauty. Love the tufted leather headboard, the funky bathroom window door, the water in boxes. We sat on the patio for a while, which looked over the water/marina. The BEN West Palm is absolutely divine!! The staff- amazing...the ambiance...awesome. I don't have anything negative to say about this hotel. I actually had an overnight stay (after cruising), I enjoyed this hotel so much I would take a trip to West Palm again just to stay again. The rooftop pool is small but big enough to be comfortable. A big group of us stayed here this weekend for a wedding. Very nice hotel and superb staff.... Rooftop pool and bar and nice lobby bar. My cosmo though was $26 but think that's going rate in W Palm Besch . Rooms are nice and they give you a key on a bracelet. read more
