    Hot Roast Beef Dinner
    Mia C.

This was my first time here while we were visiting family with my fiancée. I would recommend to call ahead and make a reservation on a saturday night because we initially tried to go but there was a 40 min wait. That's our own fault. We went back on Sunday night and we were able to be sat right away. It is the perfect mix of PA pub bar and homestyled cooking. Everything everyone had was "clean plated." And we had to make room for the dessert pierogies! Never had anything like it and they had multiple flavors! We all shared the blueberry and apple pierogies which was served with ice cream. Incredible!!! And can't wait to go back!

Been here a few times. Got the meatloaf melt with pierogies and onions side dish. Both were tasty.

Great Bar food, have been there multiple times. Friendly staff, good prices and portions. A little dark in lighting downstairs.

Great little local bar. Food is very good. Bartenders are great and friendly. Only down side bar is small.

Parking up front was plentiful, but they have a service garage and an equipment rental place on each side of them so sometimes the entrances can be tight. They have plenty of table seats and a small bar with diner stools. We sat at a quad by the window. The staff was friendly, great with kids and kept the coffee topped off. They only gave us breakfast menus, but they had all the standards you'd expect. I ordered eggs sunny side up, hash browns, bacon and rye toast. They made a Mickey Mouse pancake for my youngest, eggs and a bagel for the other and a large waffle for my wife. The eggs were on the small side, but delicious, hash browns were crispy, greasy and good. I can't complain it was a comforting meal. The kids were happy and my wife's waffle was enough for a second meal the next morning. The coffee was a tasty typical roasted diner coffee. We had a good family experience here and would return. Thanks guys!

They are almost always a plus to the atmosphere - you get a nice "family" or "community" feeling. The only negative is their parking lot. The auto business next store seems to park cars they are working on there. A few times we went to other restaurants thinking West End was crowded. And even now that we know, it can be annoying trying to get a spot. I wish they could do something about that. There double breakfast (anytime during the day) is to die for - we always take much of it home, since there is so much.

After someone initially took our drink order and brought the drinks, we didn't see any wait staff again for about 30 minutes. When a waitress finally came to take our food order, she seemed completely unfamiliar with the menu. She asked us to order by number instead of by item name, couldn't explain what came with meals, and didn't know the available sides because they weren't listed on the menu. She only rattled off a few options quickly. Even the "soup of the day" changed depending on who at the table asked about it. They also forgot my mom's soup altogether, and we had to flag down another staff member much later to get it brought out. Most of the food was average diner fare and perfectly acceptable, but my mom's steak was a major issue. She ordered one of the holiday specials, a filet mignon medium rare, but what came out clearly was not filet mignon. It looked more like a ribeye, had a gray color and odd smell, and was cooked extremely well done. When she politely brought it to the waitress's attention, the waitress acted annoyed that we said anything at all. In fact, she seemed irritated with our table throughout the entire meal. Eventually a manager came over and admitted they had brought the wrong steak. They offered to remake it, but by that point my mom no longer felt comfortable ordering another steak, especially since the table next to us was simultaneously sending one back as well. To their credit, they did remove the steak from the bill. Overall, the service was disorganized, communication was poor, and the atmosphere felt stressful instead of welcoming, especially for a holiday meal that was supposed to be special. We left disappointed and would not return.
