    Sundae flight
    Charles T.

Dropping a review for multiple stops at DAT's in Nazareth wrapped up in one. First stop I had the "Over the Top" hot dog and the second stop I had an ice cream sundae flight. The spot is very cool, 50's feel to it, LP's hanging around, a jukebox, etc. Everyone I spoke with both visits were very friendly and helpful as well. The Over the Top dog is a big ol hot dog with a grilled cheese for a bun topped with bacon, tomatoes, and diced onion. The dog was good quality and how could it possibly be bad with a grilled cheese attached?! This one just made too much sense to try out! I'd definitely get it again. The sundae flight was really awesome. You choose 4 ice creams, and 4 toppings and they'll all come with whipped cream. They have quite a few different home made flavors to choose from and many toppings. I believe this was in the ballpark of $12 and I'd pay it again any day of the week. DAT's ... simply ... Didn't Suck!

Stop by on the chance that this place may be great. I always love 50s locations and had high hopes after looking for a lunch spot. After walking in......you could hear 50s music. So far so good.....although the music was louder than it needed to be. I ordered a California cheesesteak and a chocolate milkshake. The menu made everything look good. The milkshake arrive first and was fairly decent but the food........I guess In keeping with the 50s theme came out 50 minutes later. Ugh. Not sure why the delay as they were not that busy. Anyways after receiving the cheesesteak it wasn't that great. Bread was stale and the cheese had not even melted. The tater tot's which came with the cheesesteak was the best part of lunch. After looking at several of the reviews below who ranked this place pretty low...... most of them are spot on. The place appears to be run by a bunch of high school girls. Although I don't want to be too critical my advice would be go for the ice cream but skip the food!!!! After all you can't screw up ice cream

First off I'm not saying the food is bad, it's not. I have eaten there multiple times with no complaints. But that said I went there tonight for some ice cream. BIG mistake ! The soft serve portion was very small and it's not as creamy as Petey's Eatey's . Now I understand why there is always a line at Petey's. At Petey's you get about a pint for a small . At Dat's you get a half of a scoop. But I did save $0.25 , I guess you get what you pay for. With the high cost of EVERYTHING today , people want their monies worth.

Ice cream delicious, had that first. Fresh juicy burgers and a health spinach salad with roasted peppers and mozzarella salad. Great greeting immediately at the door friendly, engaged waitress. Will return with the grands.

I finally got a chance to stop in today for lunch and I have to say that I'm sorry I didn't get to stop in sooner. This is a cozy little blast from the past. The Food was awesome no complaints at all. Our server was super friendly and very attentive. Good tunes playing and the decor was great. The only downside was that we were so full after lunch we didn't get to try the ice cream. Just gonna have to make another trip

I first found Giacomo's when I moved from Jersey to the Lehigh Valley more than 20 years ago. Long…read morebefore the sons of the original owner opened the Market and Grill in College Hill. Raised in Brooklyn, NY for 20 years, my expectations were low. The old man closed his store and retired and I discovered the tradition moved forward in the new College Hill store. The original Giacomo's was not a grill, but the old man (whose name escapes me), knew how to make sausage. Imported cheeses and olives with bread brought in from NYC made this a no brainer for folks like me. The old man couldn't retire and he came in just to make the sausage - of which the thin (pictured) parsley and cheese sells out the same day quite often. My favorite - though the other varieties are top notch too. I heard he still makes the sausage today but I can't confirm or deny that. Having moved to Naples, FL and then Myrtle Beach, SC - I had long forgotton Giacomo"s. Now back in PA (Allentown), I recently wanted good ravioli. The company that make the best ravioli in the world is Pastosa's. I went to their website and saw they opend a bunch of stores in both NY and NJ. I had just about talked myself into an hour or more ride when I found they also sold at select retailers. Wouldn't you know Giacomo's is one of them. My car drove itsel to Giacomo's and I got a box of the large ravioli, a bag of home made meatballs, and a qusrt of homeade tomato sauce. OMG - Pastosa still make the best ravioli in the world. And Giacomo's seel the full line including a bunch of ravioli varities, stuffed shells, manicoti and more.Of course I picked up some Italian specialties along the way while there. HEAVEN! Don't go hungry and bring plenty of money - because it's easy to drop a hundred dollars there and you'll have ZERO buyers remorse. Check out their website ba cause this review just scratches the surface of all the authentic Italian delicacies they have. Don't forget Junior's Cheescake - Simply The Best! Both of these trips were a little while back and I'm honestly due to stop in again and try something else out. I stopped in for the cheesesteak December of 2021 and I went back for the breakfast sandwich December of 2022. The cheesesteak had the cheese mixed throughout and it was on a pretty solid roll. There was less meat than I had hoped (trails off towards the end of the roll on both sides) and it honestly could have used more cheese too, but it was definitely something that would scratch an itch. At the time the price was excellent (like $8.50 or something in that range) but I am not sure if it's still around that price or not. This isn't something I would go out of my way to get again, but it wasn't something I was upset about at all. The breakfast sandwich was a beast. Pork roll (or whatever you call it), bacon, eggs, cheese, hash brown on a Kaiser. The flavor was good all separate and once I was able to actually get my mouth around it and get everything in one bite, it was solid. It isn't something I would suggest eating often, and I'm sure your cardiologist would agree. Either way, pretty tasty stuff. Going to have to check back in soon for sure, but for an economy steak I was happy and for a once a year breakfast or so, it did the trick.

The breakfast sandwich is phenomenal! As their menu states, it consists of "two organic eggs, split and grilled Spanish chorizo, sharp cheddar cheese and baby arugula on a fresh baked roll w/ a touch of sriracha mayo." The eggs are cooked perfectly! The contrast of the cheddar against the chorizo and sriracha mayo is wonderful and the peppery arugula comes through at the end. I would eat one every morning if my wallet/waist could afford it! The cafe is both large and small (you'll really only understand if you go) but I never have an issue finding somewhere to sit. In the warmer months, it's really nice to sit outside in their patio area. The staff is always accommodating and the place is well kept. Sometimes you wait a bit for things but it's never super long and they are pretty good at keeping you in the loop if there's an issue. Definitely a great spot worth checking out!

The coffee to milk ratio was good and the chocolate flabor was not too overpowering- it still tasted like a latte and not hot chocolate. It wasn't watered down, and was still rich and creamy.
