We had a very nice dinner last night with friends. The restaurant is very nice and cozy. Our waitress was extremely accommodating, making us feel welcome. We were there to catch up with people we don't see often, so it was so nice not to be rushed. Our food came out, as it should, in courses with time in between. Very nicely done. Our dinners were excellent, done to everyone's expectations. Unfortunately, we didn't have any room for dessert so I can't comment on that. The food was sub par. Got a Caesar salad with shrimp during business lunch. Didn't want to complain but this wasn't a quality salad, lettuce was less than green with dressing that tasted like store bought bottle. Shrimp yeah, small and only 3 for $12 more!! I ordered the house crab bisque ($14), which was comforting and exactly what you'd expect from the dish. For small plates, I tried the black-and-blue beef bao buns with Asian slaw, fried wonton, and scallion ($11 for 3). Unfortunately, the buns themselves were dry and crunchy, which threw off the balance. Service was attentive and the waiter did a good job. The ambiance leans upscale American, stylish but still approachable. Overall, Madeline's had some hits, and some misses. read more

Madeline's turned out to be a wonderful surprise! My girlfriend and I thought it was akin to something like a TGI Fridays, but this is one great restaurant with high-quality food, drink, and service, as well as a welcoming atmosphere. We began with a Brussel sprout and fig flatbread with bacon and pickled onions where saltiness and sweetness were perfectly balanced. Absolutely delicious. My girlfriend enjoyed the perfectly cooked airline chicken and my salmon with shrimp risotto and asparagus was fantastic. For dessert, we indulged in their rich peanut butter and chocolate pie. Marla was an excellent server and she really introduced to the restaurant. We cannot wait to revisit! read more

My wife and I planned going out somewhere nice for our 20th anniversary and we never been to Madeline's for a sit down dinner. Just banquets upstairs. Let me tell you that they delivered. Food: A Presentation: A+ Service: A+ My wife and I shared the tuna as an appetizer. She had the French onion soup, I had the fall bisque which is to die for. The elk is amazing! It tastes exactly like a fillet mignon. It wasn't as gamey as I thought it would be. It's a very clean and beefy flavor. The texture is a little bit more firmer than a fillet mignon though. This may be a good thing if you find fillet mignon too soft and mushy. There's a good bite and chew to the meat giving it more of a intense and flavorful experience. It is by no means chewy and rubbery at all, it is still very tender. The sauce on it was a little bland though, I couldn't make out what flavor the sauce was supposed to be. But that's intentional because the sauce isn't supposed to take away from the star of the dish which is the elk . The calamari was amazing, fresh, and tender. read more

Summertime Peach Salad was good, just couldn't taste charred peach slices. 4/24/22 Loved Madeline's Salad with chicken breast and parmesan cheese. We shared a pizza, half pepperoni, half margarita. 3/19/2021 Lobster Bisque didn't contain much lobster and not served hot enough Madeline's Salad with grilled chicken was fresh, nicely seasoned and a good portion. A group of us went to Madeleine for dinner. The atmosphere was nice, not too noisy, and service was very good. Unfortunately, I ordered the leg of lamb that came out like a boiled piece of meat with the skin looking raw. I was so turned off by the looks of it I couldn't eat it. I did take a taste at my wife's insistence which was like eating boiled meat. I still couldn't eat it. Since it was so expensive, I took 95% of it home as my wife took it and added some sauce and baked it in the oven, I still couldn't eat it but since she doctored it up she ate it for supper. I don't think I would go there again very soon. Be cautious if you go there as it's expensive but not that good! read more

Made a reservation to lunch with a friend. We hit construction traffic on the drive to lunch and arrived 5 minutes past the reservation time, only to fine that our reservation had been canceled by the restaurant. Although we were still seated without a problem, it was disappointing to find that they did not care to extend that reservation for a few minutes and welcome our business. The food was okay for a lunch. Nothing that was exceptional. Service was adequate, although not friendly. We had been seated in the bar area, so there was no opportunity to assess the ambiance. It was a bar. It appears that even though we took the time to make a reservation, we were still treated as unimportant. I didn't need a reservation to take my friend to a bar. I stopped by the bar after work, which I usually do once a week. The service is amazing. Today I would like to give a huge s/o to Genni tonight. She was busy as heck, and a very rude couple came in got a side salad and jumped down the bartenders throat because it wasn't tossed properly. Then he and his wife got wings and a pizza. They ate the entire thing. When the bartender went to give check they again, jumped down her throat saying how terrible food was....even though THEY ATE THE WHOLE THING. The kicker, which was my favorite comment of the night was he said (talking to manager because bartender had enough) "I know the owners" L O L of course you do. And I'm sure he has no idea who you are sir. No reason at all to complain and scream at the BARTENDER who doesn't make your food. If you're that upset with the food. Send it back. But no he ate it all, then continued to complain to management. As a server/bartender I commend the bartender Genni and manager who was on duty because they handled it perfectly (as I bit my tongue. 10/10 food is amazing and so are drinks! read more

We visited for bunch, our first time there. The place is big and nice inside but the service and food were terrible. I couldn't believe how mediocre the food was (we ordered salads, pizza, burgers and chicken tenders). Nothing we ordered was good. The server never came back to check on us after bringing our food, I had to stand at the bar for 5 minutes to get someone's attention to cash us out. It wasn't busy, there were only a few tables in the place. No excuse for such poor service. The tap water also tastes weird. Overall, poor experience. We won't be back. Two thumbs down. read more

I've given this restaurant 2 visits and both were just mediocre. Stopped in for lunch and had a wrap that was soggy and pretty bland. Crab Benedict was ordered as well and looked very good - potatoes were cooked well too. We decided to try again and visited for Sunday brunch and were very underwhelmed. Bartender wasn't very friendly and seemed irritated we sat at the bar to eat. Steak and eggs were subpar, definitely wasn't the best quality cut of meat. The avocado toast was just bad - no other words for it. $12 for Untoasted fake sourdough bread with avocado spread (like what you buy in plastic containers from the grocery store) - and barely any of it. Whole meal was bland and underwhelming. Can't speak for dinner but would 100% not recommend for brunch/lunch. read more

This was our first time there and it was a great experience. The atmosphere was very relaxing. We sat at a high table and enjoyed the fresh air. Waitress was very friendly. Food was amazing. Fishy odor upon arrival, not a great first impression. Ambiance was good. French Onion crock was delicious. Food was good but took a bit too much time for entrees to come out. Genie, our server, was good. She was pulling double duty bartending and serving. Seemed a bit pricey for the small entrees. Elk was perfectly cooked. Halibut was decedent. Had to swat black house flies and fruit flies the entire time. That was a bit of a downer. Sorbet course was a nice surprise but perhaps that was what attracted the fruit flies. read more

I had a lovely lunch today with some friends and coworkers celebrating the end of a successful year and to share a little Christmas cheer together. French onion soup was delicious, had a light lunch with hopes of a birthday dessert. Yum peanut butter pie! Huge piece had to take some home. The server was so kind and overheard that today was my birthday and gave me a box of four cake pops. The most decadent delicious chocolate coated cake pops I have ever had in my life! Yum! Went for lunch with family from out of town due to proximity to I-78. I had previously been to the old Madelines prior to the fire and had wanted to try the new location. The building is ew and very nice looking with good parking. The lunch menu is rather small and somewhat pricey. I ordered the crab bisque soup as did others, and the grilled cheese special. Needless to say my soup was luke warm, the sandwich was just ok but definitely not worth the price. The others were in agreement. It was rather empty but this was a Tuesday afternoon. Overall it was "ok" but definitely diner food quality at a high price. I have only hosted an event here, rather than attend as a regular customer, so that's my perspective. Overall, I was somewhat disappointed. It was very challenging working with their staff to plan the event. People didn't answer my emails, called me in the middle of the work day, and had a hard time working with us to come up with an event that fit everyone's goals and needs. Much of what we agreed on never came to fruition. The food during event came out so late. The event started at 6 PM, and we were never served until 8:30 PM. Our waitress was not the friendliest despite my many "please" and "thank yous." She seemed annoyed at any questions. This was my first time being at Madeline's Restaurant. I went with a large group of friends and it was a great experience. The service was fast and the waitress was very attentive to our needs. We started off with a bunch of appetizers and the pierogis and spinach and artichoke dip were my favorites. I ordered the apple whiskey grilled pork chop for dinner and it was SO delicious! It was a large portion and everything was cooked to perfection. The portion sizes and quality of the food matched the prices. The lemon sorbet they give you before your dinner was a nice addition. First time here! Beautiful restaurant. I wanted the elk loin, but they were out, so I got red deer with carrots and potatoes. Not to be dramatic, but this was probably the best caesar side salad I've ever had. Paired it with the Grass is Greener cocktail -- parsley-infused vodka made in-house! First impression of the restaurant and it's very 60s wood panel Decour was warm and cozy. The staff is extremely young very nice and efficient. First course was a bit of a disappointment the Calamari was tough but the salad underneath with the dressing was good. The second course was the lobster bisque which was not bad the portion was a bit small and the alcohol in the brandy didn't completely burn off. The loin of elk with the cranberry dressing was really good even though the portion was very small and the roasted vegetables weren't completely done, overall it was OK. Dessert was cheesecake with strawberry topping it was OK hard to believe it was homemade. Overall I really enjoyed the meal the staff was attentive and the price was not that bad. The menu descriptions built up expectations that were difficult for the kitchen to fulfill. read more

We made brunch reservations and were very pleased with everything. The staff was polite and accommodating. Everyone's entrees were delicious and plentiful. Their homemade buttermilk biscuits were delicious. We enjoyed so much we are returning for dinner at the end of February. COVID issues weren't a problem. Tables very well spaced apart.
