In an effort to diversify the places I take dad on Friday, we tried The Berry Tavern tonight. The staff and owners were super welcoming and friendly and the service was great. Started with the meatballs which were excellent and a highlight of the meal. I had the carbonara. I am a bit of a carbonara expert a while this was not the best I have ever had, it certainly cracked the top 5. Dad had the Tavern Scallops and he said it was very good. Parking is a nightmare but that is not their fault. Overall very good and we will add it to our rotation.

Went for a birthday celebration Parking Parking spots available and street parking as well Service Reservations were made and we were seating straight away Food DELICIOUS. Food arrived in a timely manner and couldn't be happier with the gnocchi I ordered Ambiance Great place, casual and dressy. Great for couples and groups!

Serving the most pathetic slice of "bread".

It is OK, it is family friendly and accordingly raucous, loud, hectic. Too many big parties. Communication is difficult. Friendly owners and staff. The "bread" they put on the table is a joke. Please serve some baguette and olive oil to patrons waiting for the food.

We came for the first time tonight and we will be back! It was a packed Friday so, the bar was packed. Definitely a go to date spot or a friend's catch-up. We checked out the bar seen first but, there were no spots (classic!). The hostess, Abby, saw that there was an opening between reservations and got us a table stat. She was both accommodating and friendly. My sister got the chicken and vegetable soup, my mom got the shrimp grand mariner and I got the Tirimasu. They went for the savory and I went for the sweet. We came here for a little snack after the movies so, it was a weird mix of food lol the chicken and vegetable soup was a food for the soul. The shrimp grand mariner was the perfect combination of savory and sweet. And, then tiramisu was the biggest I've ever seen. It was moist (yea, I used it), decedent and light. Debbie was our server and was welcoming and so funny. I will definitely be back to try a proper full meal - next time I have room!

    Great time at Berry Tavern

I was on crutches after getting major reconstructive skin graft surgery on my foot and wanted gelato. This incident happened 5 or so days after the surgery. Despite the restaurant being open, the gelato entrance was locked. The ground was wet and icy, and after I hopped up the stairs to the gelato shop, I had to hop to the main entrance because there was nobody there. Thankfully my mother was with me to help hold open doors. Once I made it to the main entrance, I asked about the gelato, and the staff person said it was open, but I wouldn't be able to go through the restaurant to get there and informed me I had to go back around. I believe there was some sort of construction happening, but I struggle to understand why an accommodation couldn't have been made. In hindsight, I wish I had advocated for myself better. My mom helped me leave the restaurant area so I could hop back to the gelato shop in the icy rain, and once I made it to the back (again), the flooring in the shop was slick. Combined with the wet crutches and the slick ground, I fell and broke the fall with my foot that had received surgery. The staff person who directed me to go back outside and witnessed the fall did not even ask me if I was okay. I ended up calling 911 to get an ambulance to take me to the emergency room once we got home from the restaurant because I was terrified that the impact of the fall ripped the sewn bandage and graft out of my foot. Long story short, I'm disappointed at how this situation was handled by the restaurant. The gelato was fine.

When I called them to let them know, not that i really expected them to do anything, it seems the order-taker had erroneously said "well cooked," hence the clear error. They credited us for the entire order, which far exceeded expectation - very classy!! Well played, Rev Kitchen! :)

Appetizers were delicious and we could have probably been fine with that, but with Gf options and wanting to try more we over ordered. Orders pizza to take out for later. It was good, I wonder if it would have been better fresh out of the oven, which is why it didn't get the 5 star. We will be back great find.

We got potstickers and the corn dip for appetizers. The potstickers were average at best, but the dipping sauce...it was like dipping them in a bowl of saltwater (I get that it's supposed to be salty, but this was BEYOND what I expected). The corn dip was underwhelming...it was ice cold corn mixed with some seasoning and cheese. The chips were stale. For my main meal I got the Mac and Cheese with steak tips...both items came out cold. Mac and cheese was BLAND. I don't like my food piping hot, but this wasn't even lukewarm. Got a side of bland eggplant fries that seemed undercooked and lacked any kind of sauce for dipping. Had some of my wife's French fries and they seemed skimpy and not cooked enough. Dessert...I got the bread pudding...edges were BURNED and the rest was MUSH!!! My daughter enjoyed the ice cream and whipped cream that came with it. Service was fine and they did check thoroughly about some possible food allergens for my wife. We took most of our food home, but I have a feeling it won't get eaten.

Because I have a serious dairy allergy, I need to be careful when ordering, and the person helping me was patient and thoughtful about making sure my iced pumpkin spice latte was prepared with oat milk and remained completely dairy-free. I truly appreciated that care. Unfortunately, the breakfast selection was disappointing. There were no vegan food options available, which meant I could order a drink but had nothing to eat with it. For a coffee shop in a busy destination like Salem, I would love to see at least one satisfying vegan breakfast choice on the menu. My iced pumpkin spice oat milk latte had a pleasant flavor, but it arrived with barely any ice. An iced latte should be properly chilled and refreshing, especially during a warm morning of walking around Salem, and this one wasn't cold enough. Overall, the kind and accommodating staff were the highlight of my visit. With vegan breakfast offerings and a properly iced drink, this could have been a much stronger experience. April 17, 2026 I…read morewent with my parents tonight to the Adriatic Restaurant (Washington Street), Salem, MA. We've started having dinner out twice a month and this was the most recent experience. I had gone online to the NORTH SHORE DINNING PAGE on Facebook and asked people about their experiences with the restaurant in the last two days and here's what people said: "great, tender meatballs", "great eggplant parmigiana", "very good experience". .... And what we found out is that they were right. Those things were all true! Now.... As to what we ordered: I got the grilled octopus. It was the only partial miss on the menu. Arugula just doesn't make a very good sauce and it was a pretty bad base for what would otherwise might have been a great appetizer. My mother got the Caesar salad. It was good. It's a hard thing to screw up. My father ordered the meatballs. They were amazing and delicious - just like Facebook promised. The tzatziki sauce was good. Maybe not as good as mine, but good nonetheless. So dinner.... Mine was the Chicken Saltimboca. It was so good that I'd bathe in the sauce they make with it. I loved eating forkfuls of the chicken with bites of the mashed potatoes. That was really luxuriant. My mother had the Eggplant parmigiana and she wiped out the entire plate. She loved it. My father.... Beef tenderloin tips. Maybe cooked slightly too much, but delicious. He wiped out the plate. To drink.... I was out of the hospital and recovering from brain tumor surgery, so I had the hard cider (3.5% BV), my father had the Peroni (Italian) beer, and my mother had the Bud light. I tasted the Peroni and liked it very much. The hard cider had almost no sweetness to it. It was dry as a higher end brut champagne.... Which actually set off the meal really nicely. My tastes weren't clashing and that was good. Our waiter, Sean, was great. Ask for him! We left a $32 tip, so the bill came to $197.85
