Checked on getting my factory door speakers replaced and went here since it was "local" and had positive reviews. Was quoted $350 for all four speakers, total quote including labor was over $1000.00. WTH? I can remove all the door panels of my car in less than an hour. Didn't sound right so I walked away. You may have fooled the others but I would never pay $500 - $600 for labor just to remove the door panels, replace the door speakers and reinstall the door panels. I should say the person that assisted me was attentive to customers. Though, I can't justify paying $500-$600 for the door speakers installation. read more

Just purchased a Kenwood car radio for my wife's 2006 Toyota. i asked for the inexpensive radio's first. Very informed on the features of each went with Kenwood DPX794BH HAS CD bluetooth for phone etc. Screen easy to read, and easy to operate for senior citizens . Friendly and very courteous service. Took 2 hours for the installation. Willing to answer any questions and even came to our car to explain details. They do the best tint work in the Bay Area IMO. I've been to multiple places that leave micro bubbles in the windows but this place isn't one of them. I haven't had any bubbles in the first go around on any of my cars and the film qualities have lasted the lifetime of my vehicles. No color fading either. After doing much research on car stereo installers, and seeing the generally good reviews from previous customers, I brought my car in to 'The Best Guys' to have them install a not-so-cheap car stereo. While the guys were pleasant to deal with on a personal level, the installation was a disaster. It was actually so bad, that after paying them over $2,000 to install the stereo, I had to bring my car to a different installer to fix the shoddy work they did, adding another $1,000 to my bill. When I got my car back from the initial installation I noticed several things right away: 1. The sound was terrible - no mid-bass at all; 2. There was a rattling in one of the front tweeters; 3. There was a constant buzzing sound whenever the stereo was on. They requested I bring the car back - which I would not do because they had already lost my trust. When I took my car to another installer, whose work I watched from beginning to end, this is what we found: 1. The front door speakers were defective. Since I purchased the speakers on my own, I sent them back for replacements. The new speakers sounded great. Now why, with so many years of car stereo installation experience, could these guys not notice that the stereo sounded terrible - and the owner actually sat in the car and listened with it to me?! 2. The rattling tweeter in the dashboard was due to an improper installation. Moreover, they epoxy glued the tweeter to the bracket because the bracket was not the proper fit. So if I wanted to take these tweeters out in the future and install them in a different vehicle I would not be able to do so. 3. The constant buzzing sound derived from an improper ground to a metal bolt in the bottom of a seat belt under the bench. I witnessed all of this by watching the second installer undo the damage they did: the new speakers sounded great, the tweeters were installed properly so there was no rattle and no permanent glue stuck to the bracket, and the buzzing stopped when the wire was properly grounded to the body of the car. Additionally, the new installer advised me that there was no need for the expensive signal processor they originally installed because my head unit had enough equalization settings within it to make all the required adjustments. And so I ended up selling it on eBay. Now... these guys might be great window tinters and alarm installers, but if you want a stereo installed I would highly recommend searching out another car stereo installer - perhaps one whose sole business is stereo installations. They are "Nice Guys" for sure, but "Best Guys"? Far from it. Live and learn. read more

I wanted to get my Alexa Echo Auto installed professionally so I don't have wires exposed and dangling off my dashboard. These guys are real pros. It looks better than I hoped for and took only about 1 1/2 hours. They did it for a very reasonable price, but more importantly they listened to what I wanted to do and had suggestIons to make the installation even better. If you need electronics installed in your car, I wouldn't trust anyone more than these guys. I would give 10 stars if I had the option. I called to schedule a tint job on Thursday. KJ called me back same day and scheduled me in for next day (on his day off). He was very personable and friendly. He also walked me through the process and made recommendations. He quoted it would take approx 3 hours but was done in 2.5. The tint looks unreal. I have a Tesla Model 3 and they are tricky to tint from what I have been told. KJ's work looks amazing. Highly recommend. And the price is fair and consistent w other tint places. Believe it or not East Bay Auto Spa in Walnut Creek recommended me to come here since they said it would be hard for them to tint my rear window on my 2018 Ford Mustang GT. I came in and was met by Doug who helped me which tint to choose . KC was also helpful as well when I setup my appointment by phone. I wouldn't trust my cars with anyone else. I've had The Best Guys tint windows on Teslas and BMWs, and they have always done a fantastic job, and they stand behind their work. About 22 months ago, I had them install a JL subwoofer in my BMW X5. The sub recently went out, with two months left on the warranty. I called them up to ask for advice, since I've moved out of the area. They advised me which JL dealers were in my area and made sure I had my original sales receipt to be eligible for warranty service, which required them to look me up in their system to find the receipt. I reached out to The Best Guys to check out the nav/radio system in my motor-home. They took a quick peak and realized the unit was bad. Instead of troubleshooting we decided to go for a new unit. I'm not going to say it was a painless process getting the bluetooth to work properly in my car but they worked hard to make sure it happened. Some issues were crazy issues related to my car, others were not, but they did not give up and in the end wound up switching out the bluetooth for a different brand and I have had zero issues since.
