Phenomenal locally owned and operated small business that does it all: From custom suspension to wheels, interiors, sound systems, exterior wraps, paint correction, vinyl wraps and window tint, Intake and exhaust. Dan was super professional and did his best to get my Harley street glide in and out before our annual memorial ride which was huge. Mark went through my entire system and found wiring issues that I didn't even know existed behind the fairing. Initially I went in for a battery drain issue. The bikes battery would be completely dead within a few minutes of coming off the charger. I took it to the local Harley Davidson dealer, thinking there was an internal issue or a faulty battery however, they would not touch it due to aftermarket parts, such as the stereo, head unit, amp, and speakers even though they all came from Crutchfield with the proper wiring, harnesses, etc. Harley as well as another local and very reputable stereo shop both turned me on to Dan at Walnut Creek Customs and I honestly won't go anywhere else ever again. I'm already in talks to upgrade my next bike when I purchase a road glide. Their prices are very competitive with other local shops but their attention to detail, honesty, and straight shooting advice is worth every penny! These guys are not here to nickel and dime you- they are here to offer you options that work for your budget and get you in and out and back on the road enjoying your ride to the fullest. I could tell just from speaking to Dan and Mark that they had my best interest at heart so I basically told them a budget number and let them run with it It turned out I didn't have a bad ground in my stereo, but my entire head unit was bad after 10+ years of being exposed to the elements and vibrating itself to pieces internally. They hooked me up with the new top of the line Rockford Fosgate single din stereo meant specifically for my generation of Harley Davidson They also found two additional bad grounds near the battery, as well as a battery tender which was never hooked back up by the previous shop who replaced it Speaking of shops, you can tell a lot about a company by first impressions, and their shop is meticulously maintained, organized and clean. You could (almost) eat off of the floor, and that says a lot when it comes to getting your vehicle back without missing clips and pins or loose parts, etc.. After burning through two standard batteries, and now being on my second lithium-ion, I was grateful that they found the issues. Once they have the faring opened up, they found a rats nest of wiring that could create additional problems as well as interference from not being routed properly After getting all the wiring hooked up, repairing the battery issues and installing the new head unit they even took the extra time to add a USB plug into one of my blank spaces on the front fairing, so I no longer have to connect via Bluetooth. I can connect directly to my stereo, charge my phone, take calls and play music plus it looks very professional as if it was done from the factory. As a bonus, they also re-tuned my amplifier for optimum sound, and installed some acoustical cones behind my stereo speakers for deeper bass, and better range. I'm not sure what else they did but the bike definitely looked a lot cleaner when I got it back as well. I brought my 2018 Jeep SRT here to get a new radiator, lowering springs, brake pads and rotors installed. Dan and his team did an outstanding job installing everything and getting the car aligned for a very fair rate. After the install, the top radiator hose swelled and began to run on a water pump pulley which led to a leak, not the shops fault this is a common Chrysler problem with this specific motor. Dan happily brought the car in and got it fixed in less than a day and really took care of me as a new customer. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. If you are looking for a shop that's not just a "repair" shop, these guys are the real deal. HIGHLY DON'T RECOMMEND. THE OWNER DAN IS RACIST. First, I want to start off that I came here to add an after market radio to my 2006 MAZDA RX8. I read reviews saying this is a good spot around the Walnut Creek area for this type of service so I wanted to check out this place. He gave me a good price which was better than other places I went to so I went for it and put a down payment for WALNUT CREEK CUSTOMS. He told me he will order my parts and it will be there in a week so he scheduled me to come by the next week which was a Monday. Came back in a week where I expected them to work on my car to install the radio but instead found out that he didn't order one of my parts... then tells me to WAIT another WEEK to get it installed and that he will call me back (which he NEVER did! also with NO APOLOGY about what happened). I had to call back myself asking when will be a good time. Very unprofessional!!! So I tell my son to bring the car in for the appointment to get the radio installed after 2 weeks of waiting. Dan (the owner) then tells my son to call him back if there is any problem. That night I noticed a high pitch noise in the speakers when I turn on my car which is caused by the radio (most likely an amplifier problem) and also noticed how when accelerating and playing music at the same time the pitch gets higher and louder which got very annoying while driving so I called back. Called back mentioning what the problem was so Dan tells me to come back to get It checked. So i told my son to go there since I wasn't able to so he can show the problem. Right before my son was going to leave after getting checked out. He tells my son (HERES WHY DAN IS RACIST) "Hey is there anyway I can contact you because I don't really understand your dad because of his accent" which my son does give his phone number to him saying he will call back. GUESS WHAT NO CALL BACK. I wonder why... Well I just want to end this with that as a customer you don't say that about somebody's dad. What kind of OWNER who's named is DAN! tells somebody's son that their FILIPINO dad has a bad accent so he can't understand him. A good friend of mine works for a car dealership in Walnut Creek and will only send his customers or friends to the very best. I was asking him for recommendations for me to bring my car in for a new stereo and navigation system. He quickly told me to bring it to Walnut Creek Customs. I was disappointed with the lack of care used in installing a new infotainment system in my Porsche. After I picked up the vehicle, I found small cut wires all over the floor on both passenger and driver sides of the car, as well as more discarded items in the back. The installation seems to have been fine, but I had to take the car back because of a glitch in the program that they had to reinstall. For the cost to install the system in the car I had hoped for greater level of care with prepping the car to return to my possession. read more

I was just motivated to write this review as I started the process of totally undoing/redoing everything I paid Walnut Creek Customs $1000 to do so that it would be done right and I would not have to worry about it. What a mistake. The job was to install two alternators (provided by me) into the factory a/c and factory alternator location. The specs of the alternators were disclosed to them when the estimate was given and they had the units in their possession for the entire job. When they finished I was left with a belt slipping and snapping nightmare. The car is factory equipped with 2 v-belts, which are inferior to the modern day serpentine belt in terms of durability, noise, and consistency of belt tension. When changing so many components it would make sense to do a full conversion to the modern belt system, but WCC never proposed it. Instead they installed everything so that each high output alternator was driven by only 1 of the 2 v belts. This means that there is not nearly enough belt traction for each alternator to generate its full power. What's worse is that one alternator (the higher output of the two) is mounted such that it is impossible to attach another belt, the path is blocked by a mounting point. The result: The 200a unit was generating a maximum of ~100a, and the 320a unit was around ~120a after I clamped them under load @ peak output RPM. The alternators themselves were each "mounted" with eye bolts on one side. This causes the alternators to vibrate shake independently of the belts and the rest of the system, fatiguing the belts and causing premature failure. The icing on the cake was the 8 AWG wire they used on the 200a alternator's positive post, which results in a ~5% voltage drop. Cool. Literally. They didn't even put some heatshrink on the cable. 4Awg cable is at most $2.50 including ring terminals. In the end I'm most upset that they didn't just tell me they couldn't do this. They either had no clue that the work they were doing was a joke, or they just wanted to make it look / run good enough to get me out of the door, which is a sad standard to practice. If you want something done right, don't rely on Walnut Creek Customs. read more

If you want rock bottom prices and the quickest turnaround then look elsewhere. If you want the best then go to Walnut Creek Customs. I spent hours researching top-rated shop in the Bay when I decided to replace the stock navigation and add parking sensors to my Porsche. Out of all the places I called Dan at WCC was hands down the most knowledgeable guy I spoke with. I don't say this lightly because when it comes to my toys I tend to research every minute detail and Dan was the only person who not only knew everything I was talking about, but even taught me a few things I didn't. Moreover, at no point did Dan try to upsell me. He was also very candid about his experiences with various installs. This frank and relaxed attitude is sadly rare in the car audio world. After dropping my car off on Saturday Dan told me it would be ready by Monday. It wasn't. I wound up picking it up on Tuesday, but we weren't done yet. Dan told me that he wasn't satisfied with how the new fiberglass dash piece came out and needed me to come back for a couple hours another day so he could refinish it. Oridinarily this would piss me off. I expect deadlines to be met, especially when I'm not cutting corners on cost. Nevertheless I didn't mind WCC taking longer becuase their promise is perfection, not speed. The dash piece he constructed is truly one of a kind. It wraps the new head unit like a glove and fully preserves the center console's stock appearance. Likewise, the parking sensors were matched to the exact color of my car and positioned to provide optimum coverage. I think it's a better system than what Porsche itself offered. Finally, WCC optimized my car's stock Bose speakers for the new amp and they sound stupendous. I was really impressed at the range and depth. What Dan and his team do is as much art as science. For those who want the best there are few better choices in Northern California. read more

I've been back to Dan's shop now with three (Corvette, Cadillac, Mustang) of my cars with everything ranging from tint, to stereo work, to a custom interior job. He's also done tint for three of my family member's and a full entertainment system for my father-in-law's Porsche Cayanne. After all that experience, I wouldn't trust anyone else! No custom job ever comes together without a hitch, but I know if something is even a little bit off, I take it down and he solves the problem. Some of these reviews comment on his responsiveness to his customers, to which I'll say, he runs a busy shop with a light staff. I'd rather have them working on my car than running to answer every call or reply to every email. Every time I've walked into the shop, I've gotten outstanding customer service - plus, when he doesn't answer the phone and I come into the shop, I get a chance to see all the sick cars that they're workin on. On the other hand, I'd seriously consider quitting my six-figure job to come work for him if he wanted a receptionist - I seriously couldn't think of a better job! For you Audi complainers - Dan did the tint on my sister-in-law's A3 and my brother-in-law's old Q7 and the tint still looks great after a couple of years and there was never any issue with the stereo, so you idiots must have screwed it up yourself. read more

These guys don't have a big web presence right now (their home page is under construction in perpetuity). But they are good at what they do. I have an '05 Prius and wanted integrated iPod connectivity as I was fed up with the poor sound quality of the fm modulator (Prii have a direct iPod line into factory stereo starting in '06 but if you are before '06 you are out of luck). I checked with *so many* Bay Area places that said it's impossible (and the dopes at Circuit City wasted an entire day of my life till after many hours of tearing apart my car, they said it's impossible even with a new car stereo, and I should - get this - consider getting a different car if I want to listen to my iPod). But the guys at Walnut Creek Customs said, "no problem, bring her in." They finished everything in less than 2 hours (the time they estimated). They used technology from VAIS and it works beautifully and sounds fantastic. Labor prices were reasonable (not cheap but in line with the industry). Nice people working there, practical, laid back but clearly hard-working. Would definitely recommend them and I hope they beef up their web presence so they are easier to find. read more

I'm a person who asks a lot of questions when I don't understand something. Yes, I know that may be annoying to some business owners but I don't really care. I pride myself in staying well informed. I do lots of research before investing my money on a product. The last time I purchased a stereo Dan was more than considerate in answering any and all questions I had about it. He even brought me into the bay and let the installer Jason illustrate some fiber-glassing techniques to answer some questions that came up while I was researching random stuff online. ** 2 stars for caring about your customers and taking the time to answer all my questions, even if they're completely unrelated to selling me a product. Lastly, I think the WCC website is awesome. Interesting thing is that they had an installer coming in at 7pm who works the evenings and nights during the busy time. Dan is the Man! The local Porsche Dealer suggested I send my Porsche to Dan's shop to have the Navigation unit installed. It was ridiculously expensive to have the dealer add the Porsche PCM if it didn't come from the factory that way. Dan installed a Kenwood Navigation unit and even tied it in to the Bose Amp that came with the car. The install looked great with a custom fiberglass surround that looks like it came from the factory that way. And it sounds great, even better that the Porsche "premium" radio. What really sets Dan apart from the rest of Stereo installation clowns out there. Is that they stand behind their work. and also Dan's commitment to service. Dan even gave me a ride to work after I dropped off my car for the install when I couldn't arrange for ride. I had the unit installed 18 months and lately the Bluetooth stopped working. Dan performed an firmware upgrade on the whole unit and I was back in business. How many business would pay attention to you after the initial sale? Sent an appointment request online to get my VW GTI tinted. Dan got back to me within a couple hours and had an appointment for me the next morning. I pulled into the shop and Dan was waiting for me. We talked for a minute about what I was looking for and I could tell he knew what he was talking about. This is the 5th or 6th car I've had tinted since high school so I have seen some good work and some sub par. But I felt very confident leaving my car with this shop.
