Amazing spot! It started with warm bread serve with spicy hummus. We ordered a little bit of everything on the menu. We ordered for appetizer creamy shrimps, yellow tuna tartare and Oysters. I absolutely loved the cream that the shrimp came in (used a spoon to get it). The oyster were very fresh and tasty. The tartare came with avocado. For mains we ordered red meat and fries, the pistachio crust salmon and the whole lobster pasta. We shared everything, lobster had melted cheese on top and was to die for. The steak was serve rare and was perfectly done. The salmon just melted in your mouth. Moving on to desert. We got chocolate mousse, gelato and of biensur cheesecake. Top picks and must try - lobster roll ( with salad and fried), Linguine all'Aragosta ( lobster pasta) and the heavenly Insalata Panzanella. We also had the calamari and lobster and corn chowder which were good but not as spectacular as the above mentioned items. We ended up going for lunch and dinner during our short stay. We were lucky as both times were walk-ins. Our waiter was really kind so was our waitress Kaylie. Would definitely return in a heartbeat on my next visit. Due to a kitchen issue, our reservation was rescheduled from the first day's lunch to the next day, but the extra wait was absolutely worth it. The Panzanella salad was one of the best salads I've had recently. For the main course, we ordered two pasta dishes, including the lobster pasta, which wasn't originally on the lunch menu. However, when I asked our server about it, she kindly checked with the kitchen and happily made it happen for us--without a doubt, the best decision! The pasta was rich in flavor, and every bite was a delight. My friend and I were both blown away by how delicious it was. The dessert was rather average, but the overall experience was still excellent. We opted for their Dine Around menu (appetizer + main course + dessert) for just $60, which was an incredible deal! On top of that, the restaurant offers beautiful views and a great ambiance. Our server was not only warm and attentive but also generously waived the Mimosa charge as a kind gesture since we couldn't dine there the previous day. The menu gives lots of options and is very traditional Italian, everything looked good. Food was 4/5 - the pasta in my seafood pasta was disappointing and slightly overcooked but we still ate the whole plate, seafood was fresh. Salmon entree, shrimp appetizer good but forgettable. Star was the cake desserts we ordered to go. This is one of three restaurants we dined during our one night stay after 16 day Arctic cruise that was ended on Oct 10, which was Canada's Thanksgiving. For this restaurant, we ended up visiting twice, bec it was convenient for us, as well for our ship mates who stayed at different hotels. The location is good, on the water, their main attraction. The decor is pretty sophisticated, the food is ok and the service, ok is not too good, which is the standard. The late lunch The three of us stopped for late lunch, chose to sit outside - it was a lovely sunny day. For the next 30 minutes, no one came to serve us. A waiter who served two tables from us, didn't bother to look our way. After seeing him twice, we finally called out to him. As more mates passing by and joined us, at bill time, one mate paid her drink and left bit early. When he brought us the bill, it was all in one. I just wondered, wasn't it obvious that we would pay separately? It took him another long time to sort out the bills. A night drink That evening, we met up with three mates to have a drink there, after dinner. With the early experience, we told her that we would have separate bill. When they came, one of mates pointed out that she put the wrong drinks on his bill. Unapologetically, she took the bills and left. Is saying "I'm sorry" so out of question or fashion? read more

Stopped here for lunch and indulged in a starter of Scallops then my wife had a Lobster Roll and I had the fish cakes (a combo of salmon, halibut and haddock) The Scallops were average but the Yuzu beurre blanc was outstanding, had to mop it up with the bread. Great spot on the waterfront boardwalk to come for dinner. Reservations are for inside and there is a waitlist for the outside so make sure to stop by early to get on the waitlist. On a nice day, it is quite enjoyable to dine outside. They start us off with bread with hummus. The bread was nice and soft but hummus could be more flavorful. We ordered the spatgettini frutta di mari and the spatgettini von gole (spicy clams). Both were so delicious and was just the right amount of seafood in the dishes. We ordered the toasted coconut cream pie which was good as well and perfect for sharing. The service was acceptable but we did not feel as welcomed dining with a young kid. For all my seafood lovers my biggest recommendations are the yellowfin tuna tartare, spaghettini ai frutti and the crème brûlée was a 10/10!!! All very delicious and the service was excellent. I get why this is a longtime local favourite. Sure, Bicycle Thief has a great waterfront location, super friendly and efficient service (thanks Alec!) and a cool interior that has touches of Halifax all over it. But strip this all away, and it's food is outstanding. We came here for lunch twice and got: - Mussels: Amazing! The mussels were fresh and well cooked (not rubbery at all). But the star was that sauce of tomatoes, onion, garlic, basil and white wine it was bathed in. Soooooo good! - Seared Scallops: Scallops were plump and juicy, sear added a good heat to them. - Lobster and Corn Chowder: I like my chowders thick, so I was predisposed not to like this soupy chowder. Gotta hand it to the Thief, they won we over with the generous chunks of lobster and smoky bacon bits. - BT Burger: Worthy of having the restaurant's name on it, the burger was oozing juicy qhen you bite into it. - Fish Cakes: No filler here. A mix of halibut, haddock and Atlantic salmon, this was a hearty cake. Seared well, it was really tasty. Also, the side salad had this sweet-ish vinaigrette that could make me a vegetarian since it was so good. - Lobster Roll: Hearty chunks of fresh lobster on a toasted pillowy bun. What's not to like? - Linguine Aragosta: Al dente noodles paired with a really creamy sauce, with generous chunks of lobster. Yes please! - Basque Cheesecake: I loved it since it tasted more like new nork style heavy. My wife didn't as much since she likes her basque cheesecake less over the top. - Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl Sundae: Speaking of over the top, this. Peanut butter bits, chocolate swirls, and fudge all around. A sundae that's elevated in flavour yet gluttonous in size. Book ahead since this place gets filled up. Heard it's great to watch the sunset from, so maybe next time will try dinner here. Whatever the time or day though, would recommend you give the Thief a try! read more
