We've ordered a couple of times to go and the food was great, but this time we went inside. There were large parties waiting, but they took us right in. Adam the server was excellent. Everything looked great on the plates and was served hot. Our omelettes were delicious and large so we had some to take home too! Don't forget the vanilla cappachino and marbled rye toast...yummy! Breakfast food is the best food there is. The Big Biscuit does not in the least bit disappoint. It seems that for Topeka, you have several really good breakfast places. But in my honest opinion, The Big Biscuit is the best place to get breakfast in Topeka. Again, breakfast food is one of my favorite foods, doesn't matter what it is. Waffles. Eggs Benedict. Pancakes. Biscuits and gravy. Bacon. This is the place. We will definitely be back. Plus for Covid, they did a great job with sanitation and social distancing. read more

Ordered eggs over easy and they brought me hard yolks. Wouldn't let me have food cooked and separated out like I wanted! Waitress only checked on us 1 time during visit! Might be a good chain, but wouldn't recommend Topeka,KS restaurant. read more

Have been to this restaurant a couple of times, but will never go back! The food was horrible. I ordered hash browns, a biscuit and sausage patties. The biscuit was so dry I could hardly choke it down. The hash browns were burnt on the outside and raw on the inside, and the sausage patties were so thin and burnt, I only took one bite and that was it. Everything tasted like it was leftover from the day before, and just reheated. The sausage and hash browns were so full of grease, I had a stomach ache the rest of the day. Plus they charged almost $3 for a cup of coffee! Seriously?! I know prices have gone up everywhere-but that's ridiculous! Definitely off my list of good places to eat! read more

We have never been to Big Biscuit before today. After today we probably will never eat there. It was a terrible experience. We waited for 40 minutes and finally left. We had 4 adults and 4 kids. There was absolutely no attempt to accommodate us. We kept asking for an update with no help. We finally asked to see the manager. She has to be the worst manager I've ever encountered. There was no attempt to assist us or accommodate us. Her response was "you can take your name off the list" which was basically; you can leave. I told her that is the worst manager response I've ever heard. Destroyed our desire to ever darken your stores. Utterly horrible and unprofessional. We went down the street to Perkins. Not the strongest location for this franchise, but still solid. You can count on high quality ingredients at TBB, and I got that here. But ... you can do Eggs Benedict wrong if you're a teenage summer-help cook. Stick to the more-basic items here and you'll get a breakfast worth paying a little extra for. The entry way is very hard to use, it took 3 people to get me and my handicapper scooter in the rest aunt. Upon entry it was very dark and gloomy. I order the large Titanic omelet, and planed on taking half home to eat later. The omelet very large, and toped with a basket and gravy. The biscuit was very bland and tactless and the gravy had no meat and was even worse that the biscuit. the ingrediency would have been good except for the large amount of cheese in it. We waited for 1 hour to be seated. Placed our order and waited another 45 mins before we walked out without eating. Watched tables that arrived after us get food. I asked wait staff if there was a problem with our food and she said they are really backed up on kitchen. Manager and staff did not seem to be concerned. Wait staff nor manager checked on us or apologized for the wait. We were ignored. Go to Lawrence for a better experience. We have not had a problem there. read more

Second visit ..... this place is expense and the quality of food is horrible. Hash browns were frozen in the middle. That is the definition of lightly cooked here. Pumpkin pancakes are heavy heavy heavy spiced. If you like heavy spiced you will like them. Eggs and sausage were great. Hot chocolate was very little chocolate and mostly whipped cream. The waitress was fantastic and she knows her job and does it very well !!!! The cooks not knowing their job wasn't her fault. The hash browns were to be removed from the bill they were not. The reason given was the manager couldn't do it. Not sure if he didn't know how or what. We gave them a second try and it was worse than the first time. Don't waste your money here. Denny's would be a better option than this place. Much cheaper and you expect low quality from them. This place is high dollar but don't expect high quality at all. read more

Too much food to eat! Crazy delicious and huge amounts. We bought strawberry pancakes, blueberry pancakes, died potatoes, hash browns, bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy, and probably everything else. Wait over an hour to be seated. I ordered the most expensive breakfast plate they had. I did ask for a special request. It was the three car pile up that has a pancake as the foundation of the meal. I asked for the pancake to be put on a separate plate then the rest of the food. The waitress said she cannot do that because the owner does not allow it. I spoke with the manager and he confirmed. The manager said he would speak with the owner to see if it was possible to do it one time, and the owner said he'd rather lose business. I'm amazed at a business owner would rather lose a customer for life, then separate one pancake and put it on another plate. I guess because the business owner feels his is doing too good to worry about just the average guy. On a positive note the waitress was sweet. read more

The best breakfast place in Topeka! if your too impatient to wait for good food - go get fast food. This is a restaurant not wendys. I was wondering why they are ranked so low and all of the low ratings are simply entitled and impatient visitors. My experience from this location in Topeka is great - I've been to several other big biscuits in Lawrence and KC and yes both have faster table turn around because they have been open longer. With time this restaurant will be the same. Food is awesome as always and service great!! Here's to hoping Topeka doesn't run another great chain out. read more

My husband and I were driving through Topeka, Kansas and looked for a breakfast and brunch restaurant. We stopped at The Big Biscuit and because it was Sunday it was pretty busy. I was told there was a 20 minute wait, which ended up being less than 10 min! We were sat and greeted promptly by our waitress. My husband ordered the Kansas omelette and I got the pancake platter. Our waitress forgot our extra side of pancakes and chorizo but it was okay because the pancakes were big enough to share and it worked out. And she ended up not charging us for the chorizo. It was no biggie, she apologized and was really nice about it. The breakfast potatoes were BOMB!!!! They usually come plain but we both added onions and green peppers to ours. They didn't need salt or pepper ayeeee! OMG they were amazing definitely order yours with onions and bell peppers as well. I did not give them 5 stars because my husband loves him some coffee and theirs was a little watered down, but they did have non dairy French vanilla creamer which was a plus. Also, the atmosphere was really cool they just needed to sweep under some of the tables. Back to the pancakes .. they were huge !!! And so good !!! We didn't even have to ask for warm syrup, she brought it anyway. Thanks girl because my husband was getting on my nerves with the "make sure you ask for warm syrup" Overall The Big Biscuit was a hit and we would definitely come back. read more

We finally got to go! It was super busy inside but we were able to request a table outside. All of the food was really good. Never in my life have I tasted better French toast sticks. The scramble I got was so big I couldn't even eat half of it. My main problem was the service. Our waitress was great but everyone else acted like we were in the way and it took a long time.
