a plate of chicken wings with dipping sauces
    Samantha G.

To quote George C. "That was an f-ing great burger. But the worst service I've experienced." And that's a pretty good summary of this spot. We were hungry and didn't feel like walking anywhere, so we landed here as it happens to be very close to us. We were in the downstairs (I believe there's also an upstairs), which is a bar with stools and a handful of tables. It's a small space. Not exactly clean, not exactly dirty. Also not particularly comfortable either. We were seated and given menus. It seems like there were three people working. 1 bartender, 1 host/server, and 1 server/busser? The host/server, while polite, was not friendly - and was quite forgetful. Literally, could not remember our order when attempting to repeat it back to us prior to leaving to put it in. (What's so wrong with writing it down?) He then even came back to us and asked us if we would like to order drinks. Spoiler alert: We'd already ordered drinks from him. He'd just completely forgotten. We had buffalo wings, a burger, and fries. The buffalo wings were cooked great - a nice crisp to them. They were large and meaty. The buffalo sauce was really mild, though. And neither the ranch nor blue cheese dipping sauces were all that good. The burger was a total hit with George C. He kept talking about it for hours afterwards. The Old Bay fries were good. So in sum, good food, absolute crap service. (Oh, apparently, the politics of this place are also highly suspect and it's a fav of the worst of the worst Republicans.)

Thanks Adam, the bartender, for making this a great experience. His 5-star serve was a highlight. Nice spaces, good tvs, overall good atmosphere. Great sports bar spot to watch a game. Since moving, I hadn't visited. I had the corn on the cob app and the Big Apple Burger with sweet potato fries. It was an amazing meal. The corn on the cob definitely needs its own paragraph...wow. This wasn't just your dad's corn on the cob (happy Father's Day!). It was a crunchy kernel packed delicacy with chipotle powder, parmesan cheese, and parsley. Double wow. The burger and (sweet potato) fries were top notch. First, the bacon was solid, thick cuts. The burger was so juicy, veggies fresh, and bun had sesame! So good to the last bite. The fries had parmesan sprinkled on top. So good. Give them a try.

This is a local dive bar. Burgers were pretty good. Onion rings were disappointing - greasy and not very crispy. Beer good, Malbec disgusting. Seemed like there were lots of regulars at the bar. Normally a good sign but tonight the food was poor to average.

I've been here many times, and while this place isn't famous in any right their Chicago firehouse mango spicy burger is my favorite burger. I highly recommend it if it's the only thing you order. Service is good but it's a small bar so it maybe hard to find seats during prime times. I definitely will come back the next time I'm in the area.

You can count on this place to have good burgers every time you go. Our recent visit was no exception. We started with the fried catfish bites. They were very good. We then both had the basic 6-ounce burger, Tom with American cheese & me with Monterey jack. Both medium rare. They were excellent. We also shared an order of fries, which were very good. The only flaw was that we were stuffed by the end of our meal!

I've been meaning to write this review for so long. Glad I'm finally getting around to it because The Big Board is the perfect bar. I know everyone says that about their favorite bar but Big Board has all the crucial characteristic: outstanding service (easily the best/friendliest bar staff ever. They'll know what you want before you do), unbelievably good food (see below), ambiance (brown bar meets chill sports bar vibes) and great specials/pricing in general. If you haven't been yet, go today! Try the: - Quebec City burger (pure magic. I don't have pics because it's so hard not to eat immediately) - Chicago Fire Burger - Jalisco Frito (best chicken sandwich period) - Wings!!! I will go there and say best in DC - Sides: onion rings and fried pickles

It's a basement bar with a bit of a dive vibe, but it's hard to ignore the nautical, blue crab theme throughout. Turns out that one of the owners is a Marylander, which is cool to see reflected in the decor in a place in dc, even though it is next door. They have a happy hour and they have a great variety of drinks in general. It's bring-your-own-food (BYOF) and there are a bunch of delicious looking Asian spots nearby, including upstairs. It didn't start getting crowded until closer to 10, which, as I said, is surprising for this part of town to me. Everywhere in Chinatown is not going to be packed and busy, and this place is here to remind you of that. Stop by if you're looking for a more chill vibe. Staff are pretty cool.

For $45 per person, the all-you-can-eat experience feels like a really solid deal considering how many protein options and side dishes you get. They start you off with a variety of banchan (side dishes), including a salad with this super tasty dressing that had the perfect little spicy kick. For the BBQ, we kicked things off with the spicy bulgogi and butter garlic shrimp, while the others tried the pork belly (I don't eat pork). Later we ordered the steak, spicy brisket, and grilled squid, which were all delicious. The spicy brisket especially was a standout for me. The guys also ordered two rounds of fried dumplings that looked amazing, but since they contain pork, I had to sit those out. I'd love to see Chadol add a veggie dumpling option to the menu! As for the sides, the kimchi and cold glass noodles were both hits at our table, and of course we all added white rice. The "mashed potatoes" though? Definitely more like potato salad and unfortunately very bland. On the other hand, the cheese corn costs extra but is 1000% worth adding. For drinks, the guys enjoyed the Woody Old Fashioned while I had a mezcal margarita-style cocktail that was smoky and refreshing. We also ordered one of the chicken options but never received it and eventually just gave up on it. One of the coolest parts of the experience is the ordering system. Most meats are ordered directly from a machine at your table, and the food comes out quickly on this conveyor belt-style setup which was honestly so fun. Drinks and side dishes are ordered through the servers. The atmosphere was lively and energetic without feeling overwhelming. The restaurant is actually much larger inside than I expected, with a modern setup that works well for smaller groups. That said, I didn't really notice tables for larger parties, so I'm not sure how they accommodate groups bigger than 6 people. Service started off a little rough because our server wasn't very attentive, but after I called it out, he definitely stepped it up and things improved. Overall, Chadol was a really good experience and absolutely worth the price. The 1.5-hour seating limit makes sense too, both to keep things moving and give others a chance to enjoy the experience. I'd definitely go back!
