Cool local spot and one of the best parts of our trip. They have live music upstairs along with a quiet area, outdoor area downstairs with games, and an inside club area with a DJ. Drinks are pretty good, better than you'd expect for this type of place. Ambiance was fun and upbeat. Not too crowded but still lively. Was a negative experience for me. We paid a cover, then walked upstairs to an empty room full of tables with reserved signs on them. Maybe I don't know about this business model, but we got here early (8:30p) looking to have a good time and wound up with no place to be to hear the band. So we walked downstairs.. never really got to hear the band. Downstairs... Athena is a bright spot as a server. Absolute rockstar and a great rep of this bar. She should open her own place. A very cool locals place, with live music and a solid bar with decent tavern food - you will not find many tourists in here other than Harley riders. Music most nights and always a good place to listen to live music on the weekends, this bar has been in town for years, not on the main drag, back down on Higdon Ferry Rd. off the beaten path a bit - and well worth checking out. Usually crowded on the weekends with music upstairs and pool tables down stairs. We come here pretty regularly when in town and its always a good time. A small parking area at the front of the building, there is a huge parking lot in the rear and a back entrance into the gaming area, up the stairs to the main bar and music area. I have seen lots of great local talent over the years here and it is always been a solid venue. Over 21, Biker friendly, locals hang out, good music, cold beer, decent food and good times. My husband and I went to the Big Chill for dinner and trivia last night after I saw the event advertised on Facebook. My experience was ruined the moment they let a person come in with a DOG. The person holding the leash let go and the dog came right up next to me as I was trying to eat my dinner...twice!!! I jumped up and moved away from the dog, the person took their precious time grabbing the leash on both occasions, and they never apologized! My husband and I told our waitress why we were upset; however, the dog was allowed to remain...so we left. Dogs in restaurants affect people with allergies and it is unsanitary! There was no sign on the door to alert us that dogs would be allowed in the establishment! I did not want to eat my food and get sick due to someone else's dog standing next to me! They lost us as customers. read more

Only had one experience at The Big Chill and it wasn't a good one. The inside is run down and gives of dirty fraternity vibes. Also the "bouncers" at the gate are extremely unprofessional. Double and triple scanned ID's and was looking for reasons to not let people in. Even to one member of an all 23 and up group made him pull up his Facebook because even after scanning his ID and it passing didn't believe it was real because he was from Texas. This place is like no other in around this area. Friday and Saturday nights get there around 9pmish and order anything on the menu! I've had most and it's all very good; I recommend the Loaded Nachos! Yumdiggidy! Coldest beer and hottest ladies will be there and above all classy, most have teeth! Decent bar food, burgers where on the small side got the price. Stake nachos where good, but lacking enough toppings. Drinks where decently strong, but not quick to come. Live music was good, but the sports bar in the basement has the music so loud, it runs you back up stairs. It's a good place if you want alot of people and not alot of drinks. read more

My boyfriend and I went to the Big Chill on a Wednesday. As we expected it was extremely relaxed and an fun local bar. What we did not expect was a super fun karaoke night and a basement with poker, giant Jenga, and plenty of other fun games. Cocktails are about 6 dollars making it pretty affordable compared to other bars. Overall it made for a super fun night. read more

Karaoke is fun and they seem to be doing it every time I come in. Some of the singers are actually good and know how to work the crowd. Some a desperate warblers who sing songs that they imagine they're good at. Seriously, if you try that Celine Dion shit one more time, I will get out of my seat and pry the mic from your silly claws. The crowd is mixed. Young and old, black and white, wealthy and poor. The bartenders are nice and our server last night, Kristy (I think) was incredibly patient with our bachelor party. Bottom line: Go. It's as good as it gets in Hot Springs. read more

My boyfriend and I are beyond pleased to have come to The Big Chill! The staff here is very friendly, Cloann and Jeff (Batman) were very welcoming and hospitable. Unreal live music every night of the week. This place never ceases to amaze me. I travel from Dallas 8-10 times a year and try to come here for the live music every time I travel here. The amount of talent that plays in this bar is amazing. I wish I had a bar like this in Dallas. It is an unspoken gem in Hot Springs. You could only expect something like this in New York or Chicago on a nightly basis. Truly an awesome place. read more
