How this place has so many 5 Star Reviews is beyond me. I came in with an old Army buddy of mine for breakfast a few days ago. We were attending a small Army Reunion in Hot Springs , Arkansas. The food wasn't bad , but kind of bland , nothing special. We had a couple with their child next to us and we had both ordered the Biscuits and Gravy and saw the lady had them and we asked how they were. She said they were okay , but not impressed. When we got ours we said the same thing. The gravy had a little sausage in it , so that saved it from being like paste. The biscuits were okay , not hard and complimented the gravy like it should. We had Scrambled Eggs instead of as listed Sunny Side Up Eggs on top. They didn't put the scrambled eggs on top , they put separately on the plate which we didn't ask for. Another couple took the table beside us that the family was at before and the husband also ordered the biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs and they put them on top of his biscuits and gravy , odd they did ours differently. He also was not impressed with them. I also asked for a Bowl of Grits and I got a Small Saucer the size of a side of Ranch , for $5.00 extra. Grits are cheap and that is all they give you like 6 spoonfuls. I got a Dr Pepper and they give you a Can and a glass of ice , so no refills and I also got a glass of water. My friend got a side of Bacon and he said it was alright. I'm sure a lot of people like the history and it's a cool throwback cafe with old pictures and such. Best Cafe is part of Best Court, a motor court that opened in 1933 and was revitalized in 2017. The corner suite, No. 11, once hosted Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio, according to hotel lore. The Cafe was busy and the tiny waiting area by the door only holds a few people trying to keep cool while waiting for a table. A few people had to wait outside in the Arkansas heat and humidity. That day we got to 97 degrees , so by breakfast it was about 85. I'm sure there are better things on the menu than what we had , but we weren't impressed. We ate at Waffle House the next morning and he said he liked it better and it was a better value. It was expensive for breakfast. Maybe if we got like some French Toast dish with fruit or such we would've had a better experience.

It was a wet Saturday morning and we were wanting a good hearty breakfast with some good coffee and we found it at Best Cafe and Bar. When we arrived there were a couple of groups ahead of us and we heard they were on a 10 minute wait. We went to add our name to the list and it just happened a two top had just been cleaned and reset, so we were sat immediately. Our server greeted us with a smile and was really helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. The coffee was good and hot and arrived quickly. We both ended up going with the waffle with homemade sausage, with the addition of a breaded chicken breast. It came with some fresh berries and syrup. Everything was freshly prepared and served at the right temperature. I guess the owners family were dining at the table next to us and he stopped by to visit. While he was there he checked in on us to make sure we were enjoying our meal, which we really were. The restaurant/bar area is pretty small and it was busy, but they were really on top of things. The service was great, the food was coming out quickly and it was good. If we lived locally, we would probably be eating breakfast here a few times a month at least.

We also had another brunch experience that was underwhelming the day prior. And thus, I was pleasantly surprised at this establishment. Clean, cozy, good service and yummy options. The creme brulee french toast is chef kiss, we ordered them as a side only cause we each have our own breakfast plate. I got the omelette with 3 fillings & husband got the chicken waffles. we love our meal and it was in a pretty location. The wait was minimal which was nice. Our server was very attentive. Overall a great spot, would highly recommend.

We all had delicious food. We happened to be staying at the motel attached to the cafe, but I would definitely make a point to eat here no matter where I was staying in town. The food was great and had some unique options.

Breakfast was really good, but the one thing that stood out to me was the prices felt out of line compared to other places in the area. While I enjoyed my bagel, the price point and the way it arrived wasn't quite what I was expecting based on some research of previous reviews and photos on yelp. Plus, at some point they must have switched because it used to come with crispy capers which is a weirdly specific favorite of mine and now it is served with just regular capers. My husband enjoyed his shrimp and grits.

What a pleasure finding this place for brunch. The crabcake bene and the crème brûlée French toast was phenomenal! The ambience is that of a cafe in the 40's but updated. Historical photos line the walls. Cole was a top notch server with great recommendations and was always checking in. We will be back!

This place was amazing to start our day in Hot Springs, we loved the staff and the patio was pretty cool!! As far as food, everything was delicious. My husband got their breakfast sandwich and he loved it!!! I got Eggs Benedict with a gluten free toast and loooooved the addition of paprika to the benedict sauce, it gave a really nice kick!

The Best Cafe has been on our must-try list for a while, and it did not disappoint! The space is super small, and there was a line at the door, so we knew it had to be good. We sat in the patio overflow area and were impressed by the friendly and attentive staff. I tried the pork belly hash (don't judge me--lol), and it was amazing! My husband had the traditional breakfast and loved it. I enjoyed a mimosa () while he stuck with a regular coffee . Overall, a really great experience and worth the wait

Oh my gosh. This is seriously the BEST breakfast I've ever had. It was absolutely amazing. Everything we had. The jelly oh yum. The pancakes, mouthwatering. I don't know what's in that butter but WOW!!!!! They even had gluten free bread that didn't have egg or milk in it so my daughter was able to eat avacado toast. The service was top notch as well. He went out of his way to make my husband vanilla creamer. And the ambiance?! Even better. Next time I'm in town, I'll be sure to stop here.

This cafe was actually the best! Keisha was our server and she was so inviting, knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly to me and my boyfriend. I usually don't write reviews, but I was blown away with both service and the quality of our food. I ordered the Pork Belly Skillet Hash on recommendation and it was fantastic. The pork was packed with flavor and was perfectly matched with the potatoes and poached eggs. We also tried the Brioche bites as a starter and they were delicious and tasted just like Cinnabon delights as Keisha said. We are both from New Orleans and are tough critics to impress because of it. Overall the atmosphere, service, and delicious food makes Best Cafe a must see on your trip to Hot Springs. We enjoyed it so much we are going to go back tomorrow on our trip to try different dishes. 10/10! read more

Great personable service (Cole) and THE best and amazing crème brûlée French Toast. A top ten at least! They used Chives on the eggs which really pinched it up and the atmosphere was a nice throwback with modernity and Route 66 vibes. The wait was worth it at 10:30 Saturday. Now we got to go walk it off. read more

This was good. I can't decide on the flavor of this food. Sometimes there was flavor and sometimes there wasn't. Maybe it is me. The fried chicken Benedict was different and good but not the best Benedict I have ever had. All sauces had a lot of garlic. The chicken appeared to be fried very dark but it wasn't dry at all. The Gouda grits were more garlic than cheese. The consistency was excellent in the grits. The biscuits were fantastic. The oddest thing on the plate was the potato latkes. It was like eating bread. How they do that I do not know. The crust on the potato latke was fabulous. I do think the cheese on the breakfast sandwich should have been more than American cheese. It seems for a more fancy breakfast that the cheese would be real. Waitress was a rock star. read more

Pricing changes perspective. The food was okay but not for $37. My vegetables were burnt to the point they 40% black. They put moose the same way people hide a bad pie with a ton of whip cream. The service was slow like they were being forced to work. The Ambience looks really nice but it is not maintained. Dust everywhere and the tables are falling apart. read more

Best Cafe and Bar is a must-stop if you're in Hot Springs, AK. Everything we ordered was fantastic. I had the grits (seriously some of the best I've had), along with a biscuit and gravy that was perfectly comforting, plus a latte that hit the spot. The rest of the family loved their meals too--the kids waffle was a big hit, and the eggs Benedict were cooked just right. Great food, cozy vibe, and a menu that has something for everyone. This is a not so hidden gem attached to a renovated motor court hotel. It's tough to put enough superlatives in a review like this but our table of 8 all had nothing but fantastic things to say about the menu and the food. This was my first time back since the change in ownership, and I thought it was great before the change. Frankly, it's better, the menu is great. The door is executed flawlessly but I need to mention the service on the whole and our server Kirk were 11/10. Stop in if you want an awesome experience. read more

Best Cafe and Bar is at the heart of hot spring, AK. It's about 3 mins drive from the historical area. From the time we walk in till the moment we left, our experience is top-notch. Service: 5/5 We got our water and coffee refilled regularly. Great recommendations were given on our brunch options. Food: 5.5/5 All the food we ordered blew our expectations. We had a great experience here! The staff were amazing and the place is a little tight inside but very cute and the outdoor patio is a smidge larger. There are so many positive things I could say about this Cafe! Keisha was our waitress and she was so kind. She radiated joy and was truly one of the best waitresses I've ever had. The Owner/Main Chef (Elon) came out once our food was served to check in on us. The inside of the cafe was very clean and felt like it told the history of the Hot Spring area! Overall, the best café in bar is a great place to grab a late breakfast or early lunch. Staff is super friendly and helpful and go above and beyond to make sure everything is pleasant. No kidding, this place lives up to its name. Best Cafe & Bar is like the type-A overachiever kid in the classroom. This restaurant does everything just so, and pays attention to details, and everything is much more elevated and better than it needs to be. I like a restaurant that pays attention to the little things, because I pay attention to the little things. The French toast isn't just French toast, it's also brûléed, so the caramelized sugar on top adds a bit of texture. It comes with a lovely pool of cinnamon sugar butter melted on top. The avocado on the avocado toast is spread in an intricate pattern, with pink pickled onions and chives sprinkled on top. It comes with perfectly fried eggs placed elegantly on the side. The shrimp and grits includes confetti peppers and an heirloom tomato sauce squired around the bowl. The pancakes are served with vanilla-infused butter. They have an omelet on the menu, but it's made with duck eggs. See, it's things like this that I'm talking about. This is a family-friendly restaurant that's very homey and casual, but it's also exciting and fun for people who love food and trying new things. I visited with a group of people, and we all ordered different things and tried a little bit of several things. Everything that I ate here was amazing, but the French toast stole the show. The coffee was also amazing (I take it black). They serve breakfast, brunch and lunch here, and they also have a kids menu. The most interesting part about Best Cafe & Bar is that it's actually a part of a motel (motor court) called Best Court, which has been a part of Hot Springs since 1933. Happened to find this spot when I was just looking at random places on google maps and glad we made…read morethe time to come out. This is a distillery that focuses on moonshine but also does some vodka as well. Its a sort of rustic spot that seemed off the main strip so was a bit quieter. My partner and I came for the tasting which was a super deal at $10 a person for around 13 samples of their various drinks. Keally was our server and she was super nice and gave us great background about the various moonshines and drinks. She also provided good suggestions on how to mix them up or pair them with other things. We had a lot of fun and ended up buying some thins to take back with us (which was nice as they have pretty good deals the more you buy).

Everything tasted just like they described but the ones I didn't care for were just really sweet. The beers from the bar were also nice and cold.

Two Saturdays in a row, I enjoyed GREAT Eggs Benedict at the Historic Best Café on Ouachita Avenue. This is "gourmet" food. Last week, Faith provided impeccable service and attention. This week, I was the only patron in the Café for the first half hour, yet the service provided by Shamus was less than satisfactory - certainly substandard for a $20 breakfast (not including tip) at a place known for excellence. In fact, I had to ask someone else for coffee twice when he disappeared. I left a nice tip hoping that he would do better next time. jg read more
