I have had great experiences with the entire staff at The Bikery in all phase,from sales to service or just general knowledge. For me it was easy to know who to deal with there as Mark seems to run a pretty well oiled machine.Mark has always given me options as far as buying new bikes or leftovers from previous years (if available) or options on repairs or service.Mark and his staff seem to prioritize what is most important when it comes to a repair and they don't push you on products you don't need.The more you know the more knowledge the staff seems to want to feed you and the less you know the more the staff wants to make sure you understand what you know and gives you more to learn.Bottom line they give you great sales and service , they make sure you know what you are paying for and why and they work with you. The Bikery: great for bikeheads, and newbies too! A few years ago, a friend and I decided to start biking to work. To do it, we were looking for bikes that were fast, but tough enough to put up with the bumps and grit of Syracuse roads. We went to every bike shop in town, and we ended up finding that The Bikery had the bikes we wanted (thanks to their wide selection), at the best price. The thing I like most about the shop is their staff. They're all big into cycling, but approachable and easy to talk to. They made my options easy to understand, and didn't try to oversell me on a bike that's more aggressive than what I was looking for. Since I bought my bike there, I've been back several times: tune-ups, accessories, and I took my girlfriend to buy her new bike. If you're just starting out, I highly recommend The Bikery! I haven't been on a bike since I was 30. That was 23 years ago. I looked around the 'net to see what was available now, brands, price range, quality etc. Trek kept popping up with others saying good things about the name. Wanting to do business with a local store, I called the people at The Bikery. I explained I didn't want to make a large investment as I didn't know how well I could even ride a bike again. I said I wanted something in the $500 range with good quality if possible. They hooked me right up with a Trek Verve hybrid bike, They didn't try to sell me something I didn't want or outside of my price range. The bike now has almost 700 problem free miles on it and I'm losing weight. 10.5 pounds so far. I've been back for a couple of accessories and the staff is always very helpful, informative and low-pressure. Thanks folks!!!! read more

I have been an off and on customer of the bakery for many tears. I have purchased a couple of bikes her and plenty of equipment and repairs. The service has gotten better over the years. I like the store but I wish they had a larger selection of bicycles and accessories. read more

The Bikery- overly expensive and poorly done tune-ups. I can't speak to buying anything there other than tubes. I did recently take my bike in for a tune up- and it came back with the front brake sticking and soft. Considering that was why I took the bike there in the first place, I was disappointed. Furthermore, the basic tune-up was about the same as I have paid elsewhere but for a tune-up with a chain replacement. I wrote an email to them via their website contact form to give them a chance to rectify the issue. They never responded. read more

My neighbor purchased a Bike online from a national chain, (Last 4 letters are "Mart") parts were missing & her daughters birthday was in the morning. The local store told her to go online & order missing parts. I called The Bikery 15 minutes before closing, he said he would wait for us. He not only stayed open late he Gave Us The Missing Parts & told us to wish the little girl a Happy Birthday. Definitely will be going there from now on, You won't get service like that from A Big Box Store. read more

I do not know about their service in regards to fixing/tuning up bikes, however when it comes to boxing up and shipping bikes to be transported via bikeflights.com they might be one of the worst. I had my bike shipped from here to a shop in Phoenix, AZ and lets just say the bike did not arrive in AZ the same way it was shipped. The packaging was poor and led to my bike being scratched up and one of the chain rings being bent (making the gears to go smoothly.) For those who do not know (like the owner of The Bikery) bikeflights.com insurance does not cover bike parts broken in transit when they are packaged poorly. When I called the owner to let him know about this he was rude, and denied that his shop could ever make this mistake. Claiming that they have shipped hundreds of bikes and never had this issue before. That might be the case, but the pictures don't lie, and my bike shop in AZ took pictures of how poorly it was packaged when they opened the box. There was very little packing materials (foam packaging wrap, any type of packaging etc.) The bike probably had a better chance of not being broken if it was just not thrown in the back of a Fed Ex truck unboxed. Even though I knew the owner would not pay for my bike fixes, I at least wanted him to see the pictures so that he could then train whoever packaged my bike how to do it properly yet he refused to see the pictures and continued to be rude claiming "how do I know you aren't lying or it was not the bike shop in Arizona's fault for this part bending?" read more
