I'm so glad I did. I was able to get advice on a new bike for my son, and recommendations in all different price ranges and colors. I settled on a cool green and black 'cruiser' style and it is super cool! Come to find out when I paid, I bought my wive's bike here 5 years ago and they still had all of my information on record. Folks were friendly and willing to have me come back later if they didn't have what I wanted in stock as well. Seeing that it was around the holidays I grabbed the bike and went on my way. I was hesitant to make the leap to an E-bike as an old-school MB guy. But, Collin spent a bunch of time walking me through the benefits of their bikes. It took me three trips there, but finally convinced it was the right move. Forward months later; could not have asked for better guidance through the buying process. Very nice place geared towards cyclists and everything they could ever want. I'd never even noticed this shop until my beau pointed it out to me. He'd recently taken me on a bike ride and the seat wasn't good for my "delicate parts" so the goal was to find a seat that better fit my form. We found that there, a nicely padded wide seat, instead of a narrow thing that hurt any time I used it. We also found: Trail bikes, road bikes and combo bikes, Beach cruisers with big fluffy tires and trikes for people who want more stability. This is my favorite bike store in town -- and has been since it opened. I like the people and I like the products. I have now bought two bikes here -- and will likely buy more. Accessory prices can be a little high compared to on-line sources, but I still try to buy as much here as I can to help support my local bike shop. Got a Townie 7d (7 speed) and after some riding figured out that I really needed a 21d. They immediately ordered a 21d and allowed me to keep riding the 7d till it came in (about 5 days). Not sure how a shop could provide better service than this. Awesome!!!! Btw, if you haven't tried a crank forward bike, only Townie's have this, you should try one. By moving the pedals forward of the seat tube, it completely changes the comfort level and increases the power you transfer to the pedals. Only gripe on the Townie is the seat. Ordered a Bikeroo to solve that. I can ride all day, am shedding pounds and feel great. There's the real trick, you have to want to go ride your bike. I look forward to each ride. Other than a recumbent, there's nothing as comfortable to ride as a Townie. read more

Came in to the Clearwater/Dunedin location on April 24, 2017 in my quest to research bicycles for me and my wife. I don't know much about bikes, but I do have an idea of what I want, and that's all they needed. I spoke with Megan, and she was very patient with me. I told her the type of riding I would be doing and my budget. I was a bit intimidated, being clueless about bikes but knowing that Trek bikes are on the more expensive side and my budget wasn't. However, armed with the important details, Megan zero'ed in on the perfect bike for me. She didn't pressure me to go with the next model up, she made me feel comfortable with one particular model and highlighted its features. She also helped me to understand the fit of the bike, and encouraged me to test-ride it right there at the store. I was convinced I needed a 15" frame, but instead of telling me how wrong I was, she showed me the difference. What a fun experience, riding a 17.5" frame and then comparing it to a 15" frame. I'm definitely leaning towards the 17" now, the 15" frame felt like I was leaning over the handlebars! All the while, customers were coming and going, but she patiently stayed with me and didn't try to rush me through, answered all my questions and even asked if there were any more questions or clarifications I would need. I really like the warranty/customer service they have. Free adjustments for life and lifetime warranty on the frame. This is why you buy bikes from certified dealers, and NOT at Walmart. You pay a little more, but you get the experience and service that Walmart simply can't provide for this type of product. The store was very clean, and had a large selection of a variety of bikes, as well as accessories and tools and some clothes. Both Megan and the other associate (I'm sorry, I forget your name!!) were very cool, very chill, and not "salesmen" in the car-dealership way. No pressure, no aggravation. I left without buying anything yet because I need to consult with the boss (my wife) but Megan knew a shipment was coming in soon and got my contact information so she can invite us back when the bike I liked arrived. What a wonderful experience! Stopped here randomly late in the day to check out the kids bikes on way home from a dr. appt. Megan (think her name, very friendly and warm), helped me and my son out- made sure the trek jet bike fit him. Mike in the back raised the seat for him with a smile, even though he was in the middle of assembling another bike. We live near another bike shop in westchase and its full of employees that can't seem to be bothered and act like you won the lottery if one actually comes out to help you on the floor. This place had excellent customer service, knowledge and what seemed like a genuine concern to help you. It's an experience like this that will make me come back for future bikes and happily recommend it to all my friends. read more

I waited in line for 15 to 20 minutes to speak to someone. The women behind the counter was polite and informed me i would have to wait my turn as a few customers were in front of me. As I was got closer to the attendant (2 people in front of me) about buying a bike, 2 more people came in behind me. A man and a women. The were addressed from the woman attendant as they walked in , that they had a few people in front of them. One being me. Then another attendant , a man, out from the back walked directly to the gentleman behind me asking if he could help him. Completely ignoring me and the fact I had been waiting 20 minutes in line. They have an amazing store. Every type of bike you could want. It is clean, well organized and the staff is very professional. Although i was not there to buy, i would totally buy bike there. The crank arm on my fisher was cross threaded. They could have told me i needed to to order a new part and i would have gladly done that. Before even seeing if they could order the part the tech said- "yeah i think I can re-tap that." told me my pedal was probably fine too. I put it all back together and i am on the road again. they saved me over 100 bucks. They are very helpful and very knowledgeable. read more

Easy 5 stars all day. Got there 30 minutes before they opened to buy my wife and I 2 beach cruisers, car rack and all the accessories. Store was opened, greeted and serviced by Patrick and George (Huey). Immediately felt like we were 3 brothers from another mother. Spent a few hours learning about what we wanted and needed exactly. Both guys were patient kind and naturally friendly and helpful. Another fine example of how business and excellent customer service should be executed daily by a business. Highly recommend. My wife and I recently upgrades our bicycles and decided on Gary Fisher Treks. We visited several stores in the Tampa Bay area. I am a big fan of Flying Fish Bikes but they didn't have the Giant model I wanted (they had to order it) and the guys at Trek of Clearwater made me a deal on a X-Caliber I couldn't pass up. The store is fantastic with a tremendous selection of bikes and accessories. The staff is all very friendly and knowledgeable. Ask for Morgan. I signed up for yelp just so I could do this, these guy's rock! Had a warranty issue with my fork, not only did they remedy it, they got me a serious upgrade with no cost to me! Hmmm, where do I start? After moving down here from MI 1 1/2 years ago, I tried 4 local bike shops and David's won my business. James and his team sincerely take ownership with any issues. In October I bought a new TREK Domane road bike and had an issue with the carbon wheels. They stepped up, worked with the manufacturer, and I ended up with a significant upgrade at no charge. James even gave me a new set of tires for my inconvenience. Fast friendly service. They organize group rides as well. If you're an avid road cyclist, this is how a "group ride" is done. Great place to buy our bikes!! Great discounts Our sales person was James and he did an awesome job from start to finish. (Considering we can be a pain in the butt when making a big purchase decision) I was looking for a recumbent bike due to my back issues.. They did not carry these specialty bikes at this location but they had them at another store. However this was local to us and James was able to show me on the website as well as make me feel comfortable enough to buy this bike sight unseen. I purchased a Terra Trike recumbent bike and my wife got a Trek road bike. She is only 5' and needed to be fitted for the right size. James did a great job. We opened up a credit line which was easy and painless.. David's World Cycle staff was also amazing when James was not working or busy with other customers. To make the deal even better James delivered the bike to our home.. He also gave us a little class about both bikes... look you can go to Walmart and pay 1/8th the price ( which we have) but your getting crap and you will be spending more time fixing them then riding ..Highly recommended read more

The staff immediately sensed my situation, pointed me right to the best product, and gave me a filled water bottle, free, so I could drink it right there. I bought a Trek beach cruiser several years ago at another local store, but this store is now the only Trek dealer. Just walked in and spoke with manager who was such a jerk. I brought in my seat and asked if they can offer any warranty or a price break on a replacement. "Do you have a receipt? We only warranty our parts for 2 years." Yikes. Obviously, a Trek seat. Horrible customer service for my first visit. The plastic seat mold is broken, but otherwise in perfect condition. Clearly not abused, but a design flaw. He was argumentative and acted like I was interrupting his day. He offered me a 10% discount on a $49.99 seat. A $4.99 discount. LOL. Nice. Based on this experience, I will be hard pressed to buy anything at this store. read more

will never buy from davids world cycle again. brought my wifes bike in order to change the wheel and rear derailleur. apparently their "experts" suggested the frame was bent, which it wasn't and insisted they would not fix the bike and we needed to buy a new one. total bait and switch. i did buy the new bike and returned it as soon as i took the same bike to trek st.pete store where they fixed it and verified the frame was untouched. when i visited the hyde park store to complain about the practices at the clearwater store they insisted that without bringing the old bike in they could not verify whether clearwater did anything wrong. first of all the only way to know if the frame is bent is by sending it to trek and on a $500 bike that wouldn't make sense considering its $300 to do it. save yourself the heartache and go to trek st.pete where you will be treated with fairness and respect. davids cycle world is filled with a bunch of commision hungry cycling wannabes. read more

My first experience at this shop will be my last. I went in for a tune-up and was informed I needed a chain and sprocket. That was fine since I do put many miles on my bike and I knew I needed them. I also needed brake replacements. It was the tune-up that was ridiculous. The store has 3 price levels of service and I chose the mid-range. The most expensive tune-up would have put my total repair costs over $300! When I got my bike back, I commented that they did not clean it up. The technician said, "My boss would not have been happy with me if I spent any more TIME on your bike." My bike was not a complete mess when I brought it into the shop; but on previous tune-ups at other bike stores I always received my tuned-up bike sparkling clean. On my first ride after visiting the Trek store, my rear-view mirror was knocked loose and my computer/speedometer was not working. I regret to say I will not be back in that store again. read more
