Fun & lively! Not bitter at all ***giggle*** Great place to grab a drink after dinner! Loved the cocktails!

Came in for happy hour and was not disappointed! Bartenders are friendly, ambiance is swanky/relaxed. Can definitely recommend the tin man and Boulder v 2.0. Even outside of HH, drinks are reasonably priced. A good place to go with a group of friends or dress it up for grils' night or date night. Fun spot- I'll definitely be back!

The guys were so helpful to us and the ambiance was not at all what we expected but in the best way. Super chill and laid back but darker and intimate compared to a lot of other bars. Would definitely make this a regular spot if we lived in the area!

Cool bar in a convenient area. Just by the free parking near Pearl Street. Nice ambiance and good drinks. Can get crowded and service can be slow. Would recommend, but it's just your average bar in Boulder. The red lighting is cool but can be distracting. They have a nice outdoor patio though.

James Lee makes the best God Damn cocktails west of the Mississippi, and if you disagree you can eat my shorts! The vibes? Excellent! The ambience? Great! The happy hour? Incredible! The service? Amazing! I am a ride or die bitterite, and I have drank enough Tin Men (the best thing on their menu) to kill a horse.

We made a trip to Boulder and read a few blogs that recommended The Bitter Bar so we decided to check it out. Y'all, the HH here is fantastic! Blue Velvet tastes like candy. It literally tastes just like candy so if you're into sweet drinks this is the one! The lavender flavor in Kiss the Sky was overpowering all the other flavors but I like lavender so it was good!! Tin Man was definitely my favorite! The flavors in it were mixed together perfectly. We also got an Old Fashioned (not pictured) and we felt as if it maybe had *too* many bitters. It didn't taste bad, it just was a little more bittery than we are used t. The space is so relaxing and chill. Music is on point. Staff is very friendly + knowledgeable. We went during happy hour so total for 4 drinks was ~$38, 3 HH cocktails, one normal. Would definitely come here again!!

I'm very new to Denver/Boulder, but the cocktails I had at Bitters Bar were the best I've had in the area so far.

Only a bit more laid-back than Chicago cocktail lounges, and a helluva lot cheaper.

I think the best thing about River and Woods is the interior and exterior decoration. It is very clear that a lot of thought and time was put into the atmosphere here. From the cute door knocker to the bathroom wallpaper, the theme is well-executed. The food was a bit disappointing. The blue oyster mushroom appetizer was extremely salty. I thought it was just me but the rest of the table agreed as well. My trout was well-cooked and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The chicken was also salty although cooked well. I did not try the burger but I was told it was salty as well. The prices of all the items were quite high for what I thought was presented. Service was good and thankfully our waters were filled frequently for how much water we were drinking due to the high salt content.

I'm quite the foodie and cook for multiple friend groups so I was skeptical. When we walked in on a Tuesday evening near closing time, I noticed the Bib Gourmand plaque on the wall, mention of Michelin star sister restaurant, Alma and at least 6 parties still seated. Let's talk about the food now. Our party of 3 ordered alot which included: -camote (that ricotta and fennel pairing-oh my!), -caesar salad (huge portion and the BEST I've ever had; even better than any tableside caesar) -yellowtail carpaccio (many renditions of this in LA, but this made me want to eat the whole plate and slurp the sauce!) -tostada (incredible. I wanted more) -carne asada taco (divine cut of meat, hands down the best I've had), --- -pork taco (my husband ordered it and said it was the best he's had) -red snapper (I've had this all over Baja Mexico w very fond memories, but THIS one was a tip the bowl kind of dish) cooked to perfection w abeautiful flavors in the sauce. - mushroom entree. (ordered by our friend, and had a few bites. This dish was way larger than I expected! it looked like a garden box of shrooms. Flavors were delightful. We finished every crumb on our plate. I was extremely surprised with every dish we had, as I found myself swooning into another dimension of pleasure and slight jealousy with every bite. I haven't been WOWED by Mexican flavors at all (in LA or OC ), but only since my trip to Tulúm. I can taste the intention of each flavor combination, freshness of the corn, I really can go on and on. I can still remember being impressed beyond belief, and saying out loud, "THIS is what I want Mexican food to taste like". Prices were so reasonable. Entree portions were hefty and fullfilling. Staff was friendly and knowledgable about the menu and brand story. Hoping and wishing that one day they'll open up a location? chef's kiss to this place. Will try Alma and others when back in CO.

Ambience - this isn't the best place for a business dinner. very quiet/romantic and i felt like our group was out of place there, but no one looked at us oddly. It felt more like we might have been interfering with their romantic vibe as we were talking business. The restaurant and staff present a very inviting atmosphere. Food, this is where i was disappointed. the Bread at the beginning was very good/ with salted butter. I ordered the salted radish appetizer and it honestly just felt like salted radishes on top of a puree that i didn't really care for. So would put this as a 5/10 in terms of rating. I got the rabbit, which was recommended as being the best entree option. i have never had rabbit previously and wanted to try it. I thought it was OK, but not very memorable. It did taste like dark meat chicken. however the chick peas they were served with were underdone (crunchy in texture) and simply not that good. Our dessert, blueberry Tres Leches, was the best of the 3. My dining companions had a variety of things (striped bass, meatballs), but no one was raving about their food. Service was quite nice. would give this more like a 3.5 out of 5, as the atmosphere and service were good. Sadly won't be returning.

However, the kitchen fails to deliver quality or good tasting meals, despite the well-sourced food. The menu is prix fixe. 2 appetizers and an entree, or 1 appetizer, entree and dessert. The salmon tartare was salty, too salty. The kefta balls were over salted as well. The onion tarte shell was so hard it could barely be chipped away to eat. When we mentioned this to our server, the response was we get more complaints about the tarte than any other appetizer. I was surprised to see that the appetizers were all served at the same time, so by the time, I ate the cold salmon, the warm kefta, besides being salty was also cool - might have been more appealing if warmer. The rabbit entree was dry, overcooked and tasteless. The accompanying garbanzo beans were undercooked, crunchy and too salty. The food highlight was the family style vegetables. Beets, onions, asparagus were alright; the sugar snap peas which still had strings were not as good. The dessert were disappointing as the rest of the meal. The macaron was brick hard, so hard, we had to ask for a fork and knife to chip hunks off of it. Tasteless. After we departed, my dinner companion said she wished we had sent the dessert back, it was so hard and inedible that we left most of it. Bramble & Hare has a few things going for it: Service was spot on, attentive, helpful and friendly. The wine list is very good. Ambience is pleasant and the dining room is quiet. I really wanted to like Bramble & Hare as the farm to table concept appeals, but with the poor food preparation, this is a tough restaurant to like.

Maybe rightly so as their specialized ingredients are harder to get. We sat inside this time though we used to go mostly mid summer and sit out. The patio was jam full last night so we ate inside where it was quite empty early evening during happy hour. My husband had the happy hour special of the evening, a very large serving of large mussels with grilled sourdough and a lucious broth. We also had some small plate tapas and I mostly grazed those. I love Bocarones and they do it so well though for me last night, the peppers were a bit too spicy. But I got the majority of the little fishies, my husband the peppers.. We also had the tortilla papas and the charred Hazel Dell mushrooms which were excellent. The little salad topping on the tortilla was full of specialty greens like fennel fronds and pea shoots. The mushrooms has a warm egg yolk on top to stir into the dressing which was tasty. We finished with their flan which was as good as my Spanish born neighbor made in my youth. I had a very nice tea with it. I was originally going to knock off a star for pricing but honestly, I don't think they have much option these days. My husband and I were only in Boulder for a few days but we went back a second time since we knew it would be safe for me and we both enjoyed it. I had a pork chop off the specials menu the first night and the vegan cauliflower steak the second night. Loved both, but especially recommend the cauliflower steak. Keep in mind it's tapas style, so your food will show up in the order it shows up, not all at once. Getting second drinks was a little slow as the place got more crowded, but the drinks were good. Non alcoholic cocktail options looked good too -- my husband ordered something off that list but subbed in regular alcohol and was very happy with the results. If you have strong opinions about wine, you might want to google the wine list ahead of time; the wine menu lacks descriptions and the waiters were a little less fluent in pairing recommendations there.
