Once we went inside, we met the owner, who was really nice and shared that the space was originally an optometry shop and that the coffee shop was his wife's passion project. I thought that was such a cute concept, and you can definitely see the optometry theme throughout the shop, from the aesthetic to the drink names, which have fun eyewear and eye-care puns. I ordered the Rose Matcha with almond milk. The matcha itself was okay and could have had a stronger flavor for my preference, but I really enjoyed the rose flavor, which came through nicely without being too overpowering. Additionally, the price was a little expensive for the amount plus milk alternative change. Overall, it was a cute and unique coffee shop with a fun concept, and I'm glad my friends convinced me to stop by.

They use high quality beans which is nice. All the staff are friendly and hardworking. There are not a lot of seats inside the high can be tough - but if that's the case we take our drinks to go and stroll around or there is seating over by the parking garage. Parking nearest the shop can be an issue but it's a short stroll from the parking garage thankfully Any drink I have had from Here has been tasty and consistent which I appreciate . I have never had to throw a drink Away

It's a small spot, but it was definitely poppin' when I walked in, so I knew it had to be a good coffee place. I placed my order, and it only took a couple of minutes to come out. My first sip had a nice taste of actual coffee with just a hint of blueberry. It wasn't overly sweet, which was a big plus for me. Overall, I really enjoyed it and would definitely come back when I'm in the area!

They open at 7 am, and it's right on my way to and from work. The vibe is so chill and relaxing in the morning. It's a coffee shop where you can just hang out and unwind. They always play awesome music. The staff and owner are amazing! Everyone's always smiling, and the positive energy is fantastic. Such a great atmosphere before heading to work. Good vibes all around. They have these delicious breakfast sandwiches on croissants, ciabatta, or wraps. You can pick from a bunch of condiments, proteins, and cheeses. They've got smoothies, coffees, teas, fresh juices, cookies, muffins, mini-cakes, fresh fruit, fresh fruit juices, banana bread, pastries and more. But my absolute favorite? Boba! Yep, boba at 7 am! There's something for everyone here! Give them a try, you'll thank me later! #mortimerthebear #coffeeshop #sylmar #goodvibes #AnniesSweetOven #goodeats

The menu is very overwhelming, so I asked if they had matcha since I honestly couldn't find it on the menu. They have three kinds, original, strawberry or banana. I ended up grabbing a strawberry matcha with almond milk (.75) strawberry purée ($1) cold foam ($1) if I would have known of all these up charges I would have just stuck with a basic matcha. But I must admit my $8.43 drink was actually worth it, the matcha had that bitter taste and the purée/cold foam tasted homemade. Service was great, I told them it was my first time here which it was; hence me being overwhelmed and the barista offered me a free cookie, I got the chocolate chip. They have a variety of drinks, smoothies, coffees, boba and teas. Some pastries (no gluten free) but they did have some vegan options. They also serve sandwiches, wraps and salads. I also saw a mini fridge with to go items as well. Inside had seating with two small tables outside. Small parking lot, but street parking near residential area.

It seemed as though there were about 10-12 tables inside, and all the employees work with one another to wait on the tables. We showed up around 10:45am on a Saturday morning, and to our surprise there was no wait. We were sat immediately and ordered a cappuccino and Arnold Palmer to drink. Then, I ordered the Salmon Benny with home potatoes, while my partner ordered the Churro waffle combo. It did take about half an hour to get our food, but it was well worth how fresh everything tasted. My salmon benny came on an everything bagel with cream cheese, and the salmon was served cold (in a delicious/ good way, not like it was frozen. I just wanted to make a note of this because usually when eating a salmon benedict the salmon gets warm from the temperature of the english muffin and egg). Then, the home potatoes had onions, and bell peppers and I kept commenting on how fresh the bell peppers tasted. My partner had the churro waffle with eggs, sausage and bacon. They really nailed the churro flavor of the waffle. Both our plates were completely devoured with no leftovers to take home. For our two drinks, two entrees (and the added combo to the churro waffle) it ended up being $53, which we found to be extremely reasonable for the quality, portion size, and service provided. The only thing I would mention was the parking lot gets a little crowded. They share a parking lot with the other stores in the plaza, and there were several spots open only because there were a lot of bigger cars who were over the line. No fault to the restaurant itself, just something to be aware of.
