Took me a while to leave a review, but here I am. I've been coming to The Black Rabbit for quite some time now. I have to say, this is my favorite place to chill for drinks, for food, and for laughs. We are temporarily staying in Stockton right now with friends. I have no idea about this town so I relied heavily on Yelp to give me a great place to go for a quick date and some alone time. We chose the Black Rabbit and off we went! The area is really cool, located on a miracle mile near the college campus so there's lots of cool places around and pedestrian friendly. We ordered the asada fries but they told us they were out of the carne asada so we asked to just skip the meat but get all the other toppings, they made it for us and it was still so good - I would order it again even if they were out again lol! We also had the black bean dip and chips. I honestly can't say how good this bean dip was enough because it was so surprisingly good. There were 2 of us and both of these things really were enough for us for dinner. We also ordered some drinks: the relax canned hazy IPA and the lady in red to start. OMG I highly suggest getting the lady in red over and over. I almost got another one for my second drink but I diverted and tried the hibiscus mezcal sour. I hated this drink but my husband went crazy over it so it's a win still. We think it was because of the smokiness of the mezcal (I was unfamiliar with the taste profile of the mezcal) and the sweetness. My third try was the corpse reviver - it has an absinthe rinse and it's a gin based drink. The staff even tried to help me figure out my next drink to make sure I'd like it - I am not the biggest fan of sweet drinks so the corpse reviver was awesome for me being that the alcohol isn't sweet and it's all citrus was just what I needed to finish off the night. I've been living in Stockton for 5 years and I'm just finally starting to venture out. I was looking for a cute place with good cocktails and some light bites for my friend and I to enjoy on a Friday night. I came across this bar and I was pleasantly surprised. It's pretty small in the inside and not a lot of seating but they also have some tables available to sit outside. We were able to snag a table right by the door before it got too crowded. The bar menu is really good with plenty of options. We decided to try the bean dip, brussel sprouts and the chicken sa which. All three were amazing! We tried quite a few cocktails but I will say that the purple rain was my favorite. The ambiance is good, they played great music and the crowd seemed to be pretty chill. Found myself in Stockton for work on a random weekday and needed a late night bite to eat with my friends Katie and Sport. Saw this on the yelp app and decided to give it a try. We were all pleasantly surprised! Once we arrived the waitress greeted us and we were seated quickly. They took our drink order and once those were delivered we chose some food to share. I received a margarita which was super refreshing while Katie got the espresso martini (which was highly recommended by the server) and Sport went with the old fashioned. All the drinks were awesome but the stand out was the espresso martini. This was my first sip of one and the foam itself was incredible. Definitely a must try. Food wise we tried the OG Smash Burger along with the brussel sprouts. The burger was excellent with the carmelized onions, however, the Brussels were the highlight with the bacon and mustard caviar.
