I can't say much about this place since I only had one drink and took it out to the pool area. The bartender was cool and made me the perfect drink, just how I like it. The place is nice and bright, super clean and aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. Find it inside the University Waterfront Plaza Hotel on the ground floor to the right of the check-in desks. Next time, I'll try out some of their food options. Pricing is average and service was good. Nice variety of alcoholic drinks and the bar area is pretty! I was in the area for an event and of course I had to stop by. The Delta Bistro & Lounge was a regular spot for my friends and I for years. The hotel (and Delta Bistro) has easy parking right in front of the Stockton Area and usually has plenty of spaces, unless there's an event going on. I always sit at the bar here, they have comfortable seats, TVs on the back wall and the bartenders are great. I was so happy to see our favorite people still work here and I was able to catch up with Kris and Raymond and order a couple drinks as well as my favorite- their Buffalo Chicken Salad. I always add green olives to the Buffalo Chicken Salad, and if you like spicy I recommend asking for an extra side of the buffalo sauce as well. Other than the salad, they have a tasty burger and I like their sandwich options as well. The bartenders make some great drinks, I always trust them when I'm in the mood for a cocktail to surprise me with one of their creations. When I'm in more of a beer mood, I always go for the Lagunitas IPA. While I typically sit in the bar area, they also have a dining room that's great for bigger groups as well as outdoor seating in their courtyard. We were here for a concert at the Stockton Area which is walking distance from this hotel . We parked for the event and walked around waiting for friends to show up . I had to use the restroom and they told me the closest one was the Hotel. So my husband and I walked in and realized they have a nice bar area . Wish we would of came here earlier to wait for our friends to arrive. The bartender Chris was super friendly and attentive . They have TVs and a nice seating area . We sat at the bar had our drinks and hung out for a bit . This is definitely a great drop for a drink before an event . Very convenient since it's walking distance. My family and I chose to eat breakfast at the Delta Bistro since it was right downstairs from our room. It was around 10am, and there was only one waitress working. There were definitely too many customers for that one waitress to take care of herself. She was very busy and it took a long time for us to receive our food (around half an hour). We ordered the pancakes and two omelettes. I didn't try any of the pancakes but I enjoyed my three egg omelette. Considering that it was food at a hotel restaurant, the price wasn't horrible, and the portions were pretty big. I do wish that the could have had more waiters working. I felt bad for the one waitress that had to take car of everyone on the patio and inside. read more

Inside the Plaza Waterfront hotel is Delta Bistro with modern decor, a huge nice bar with big TVs that are handy for sports and the restaurant somewhat tucked away in the back, on the water. The hotel has a nice courtyard on the inside so the views are nice all around. Food wise pretty solid, perhaps more 3.5 than 3.0 stars but relative to expectations for a hotel restaurant things were fresh and the service was very good. Nice fairly broad menu. The turkey burger was solid, the side salad very good, the fettuccine alfredo was huge and very nicely prepared, not too heavy or too saucy. The chicken sandwich was great and fresh. Overall, a positive experience, certainly not fine dining, but a few steps above bar food and as good as you're likely to find in any hotel cafe. The parking isn't great and they also have an extremely small menus now that Covid hit they only have a couple of dishes to choose from. But the food they do have was really fresh and portions were good and price was suited for what you ordered. The location of this restaurant is very convenient if you're staying at the hotel. We end up deciding to try their food during our stay. We ordered pizza that taste like just marinara sauce with little topping (supreme combo) on it. Not worth for the price of it. The onion ring, mozarella chesse stick and fries are just ok, typical taste and there's nothing too special about it. Similar to those frozen food you can buy at the grocery. Their breakfast buffet ($17.99) is not worth to pay for at all. For having the pancake, scrambled egg, bacon and sausage. The food is blant, dry and there's nothing you can add on to make it tastier like even a salsa or special house made sauce. Server are not attentive on the buffet area even if there's a fly roaming around. The service was just ok, friendly server. The best part of the meal was the mimosas, which you had the option of orange juice, cranberry juice, and prickly pear juice. Service so terrible it had us searching for exact change at the end of our meal. Arrived to wait out a hockey game. It took us 10 minutes to get a table despite the restaurant being empty. Upon ordering it took roughly another 45 minutes to get a pizza and 30 minutes for a beer. The beer was mostly delivered to the concrete outside as the waitress spilt most of it troddling over to us. Had absolutely no shame handing it to us after us witnessing that. Meanwhile, our pizza was delivered by another member of wait staff who asked if we wanted ranch (yes). Then our waitress brought us pepper and cheese like 10 minutes later. 5 minutes later (15 minutes after the food) our ranch showed up with utensils delivered by wait staff two. At this point we've been there two hours and had to ask a third wait staff for the check. He comes back 20 minutes later and tells us they can't figure out who served us. We point her out. Another 10 minutes goes by and we get the check from the fourth wait staff who told us our original waitress is with another table....just gonna put a "?" on that one. This is the point that I asked my girlfriend to see if she had $0.70 in her purse. She had $0.75. So, if you're wondering, the $0.05 tip was because we didn't want to wait an hour for our change, not because we left a tip. Food was meh. It wasn't bad, just meh although my GF ended the night with a stomach bug. Was it from the pizza? Don't know but it can't be ruled out either. read more

Stayed at the University Plaza Waterfront Hotel for their big 2012 New Year's eve bash. This restaurant is located in their lobby area and served an awesome New Years day brunch for those guests that got the room package. They served steak, eggs, fresh fruit, bacon, sausage, smoked salmon, cereal, fresh orange juice, coffee, buiscuts & gravy, croissants, pastries and pancakes. Each item was well prepared and very good. The service was excellent. I have been here a few times for dinner as well. Since the hotel switched ownership the quality of the service and food has improved ten-fold. Although a little on the pricey side, you get what you pay for and this place is pure quality. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a nice meal using high quality, fresh ingredients while overlooking the waterfront. read more

I lived temporarily at the University Plaza Waterfront Hotel so I've eaten at this restaurant quite a few times and tried a variety of items on the menu and the food has been consistently pretty good. For lunch, the Delta Rice Bowl is a great healthy option and I love the BLT sandwich as well as the Grilled Avocado sandwich. For dinner my favorite meal was the Chorizo and Prawn Cavatappi and the Chicken Jerusalem is also a great option. As I said, every meal I've had from here has been pretty good and I think the prices are reasonable for the quality of the food... it's surely better than going to any fast food spot. read more

We were in town for a funeral & stayed at the University Plaza Waterfront Hotel for 1 night. We ate here because it was so convenient & my kids planned to go swimming after. It was already a little late, we ate there 8pm & they closed at 9pm. We ate outdoors because it was a nice summer night & we were able play ping pong next to us while we waited for our food. My husband & I both got a gin & tonic which was very light. We got the bruschetta appetizer & it was good. We had the ceasar salad (good), pastrami dip (good), fish & chips & kids mac & cheese with fries (very small serving, more like toddler serving size, so my petite 8yr old daughter was still hungry). It was a slow evening (Monday) & there was only one waitress who seemed busy but was efficient. Food, service, location was ok. Prices were higher than should be. One negative thing was, despite how family friendly it appeared (outdoors with the large open yard, ping pong tables & fire pits) the college guests/residents were loudly cursing (distracting my 2 kids) & smoking cigarettes. Came here on Thursday night for my Gumba's birthday dinner. Thursday night is buffet night with prime ribs. The prime rib was cooked to perfection. I had three plates full. Service - accommodating and attentive. Atmosphere - Brunch runs from 10 am to 2 pm. My wife and I were there at 11. I expected more people but there were only about 5 or 6 others. Upscale feel without being uppity. You have a couple of seating options including leather chairs. They sit a bit lower than a normal dining room chair but we chose them anyway. After a couple of trips through the buffet, the chairs were a little hard to get out of. If only they reclined. Nice big windows that look out to the pool area and let in plenty of natural light. There's also a TV or two in case you want to catch a sporting event.
