The fitting went great. The people working there at the actual Nordstrom are pretty awesome. Other than that, though, my experience was terrible. My suit arrived, not fitting remotely close to the measurements entered into their system. So much so that I didn't understand why I had to be fitted in the first place. My wedding party suits all had similar problems. My best man didn't even receive the belt that was supposed to come. My dad got the wrong type of pants; he selected regular fit, and they sent slim. He almost couldn't even put them on. My father-in-law's and my brother-in-law's shirts were both way too long. Incredibly frustrating. read more

I would not recommend The Black Tux, especially for a wedding. We rented tuxedos for a 14-person wedding party, and nearly half the group experienced issues -- including missing items, incorrect sizing, billing errors, website inaccuracies, and last-minute deliveries. While customer service reps were polite, most problems required multiple phone calls and follow-ups to resolve. For a service that promises a seamless, low-stress wedding experience, this was the opposite. The groom had no visibility into groomsmen orders, changes confirmed verbally were not reflected online, and some groomsmen did not ultimately receive what they ordered. Based on both the experience and the company's response afterward, I would strongly caution couples to look elsewhere. read more

Pretty close to a train wreck of an experience. The black tux is simply not prepared for brick and mortar experience and should just keep to online (which, honestly, is pretty decent with strong customer service). I came w my fiancé (now husband) to try on for our wedding...it started with sitting down with the associate who could not figure out how to get the computer to work...I knew more about the Black Tux software than he did, etc. We were then escorted into a small enclave dressing room, told they have only one tux to try on and then we can "look online for what we want".... This was a d+ experience at very best. They didn't even tie the bow tie on my fiancé-- they just kind of flung it around his neck. Then, after their saying we need a neck extender, they didn't have one of course. Luckily we had 70ish days left before our wedding so somewhat enough time to look into other options for the entire groomsmens' party. The Black Tux has a pretty good hold on the market but there's definitely room for competition because if you look at other reviews of brick and mortar, they're pretty abysmal. read more

We were supposed to receive the tux my husband order today (Wednesday) now the system is telling Thursday but FedEx says Friday. Now my husband isn't going to be able to try it on till late Sunday. We leave for a destination wedding early AM next Wednesday. I wish the wedding party had gone with Men's warehouse at least the items are on-site instead of being sent from another state. It is just sad to see another company claim that that was to fit their clothes to "everybody and every body," and then be completely left off. Recently I was at The Black Tux showroom at Nordstrom Barton Creek to get a Tuxedo. They have everything that a bridegroom, grooms-men, father-of-the-bride may want to look in style. The employees are knowledgeable and very friendly. I recommend booking an appointment before coming in. They work in hour slots and if you just stop by, while they're in the appointment, they can not assist you. You can risk it and hope that maybe someone did a no show or cancelled, but scheduling first is best. I love this place for a rented suit. read more

I used black tux for my wedding. Super easy experience from start to finish! I had my measurements from a wedding the year before, but I went to the black tux store (inside Nordstrom) to get measured again. I picked out the style I wanted and they sent me a whole suit to try on at home. Once I found the size and style I wanted, I was all set! My suit came 2 weeks before my wedding and everything was good! I had my groomsmen use black tux as well. Customer support was with me from start to finish and helped me when I needed to order some different sizes. Once your event is over, you put it back in the box and send it off! Much better than buying a whole new outfit. Definitely recommend! read more

We have had two experiences with the Black Tux inside Nordstrom. The first, as a wedding guest, was phenomenal. The gentleman who helped us was an ace, and my fiance and I were SO pleased, we knew we would come back for our own wedding. We returned for our wedding fitting, and it was our mistake, but I thought my fiance had an appointment, but he had not. We arrived and while there was not one customer there, they told us they had no availability that day, and it would be nearly 2 weeks. We left, and they called and told us they were mistaken and could see us later that afternoon, so to avoid traffic, we turned around and were going to have lunch in the area and wait. After much waiting, they called us back again and said they were once again mistaken, and there was in fact NO appointment available that day. When we did return for our appointment, the saleswomen was SO cold, flat, and less than helpful. She just kept saying "it's whatever you want", and gave no suggestion for pairings. When we found out they were out of the tie we wanted, instead of offering to help us look in the store, she said "just go look over there, you'll find one". I got to have my wedding dress shopping and fittings, and my fiance was looking forward to his own moment, but we left feeling as if our business meant nothing, and now we'rent sure this was the right way to go. Our wedding ended up getting affected by the pandemic and we were only given the option of a credit for later, which we're hoping pans out ok. This was not the level of service we have come to LOVE and seek Nordstrom out for specifically. Do not do business with this company!! Received my order for my Son's weeding and got someone else's order than 3 of the groomsmen received there order also incorrect. We called customer service,all calls are outsourced to out of the country so you can not understand there English!!!!! We called and canceled our order of 12 groomsmen. We all had paid the 200 dollars per tux but then we were told they were charging us 40 dollars per tux for a re stocking fee. What a nightmare!!!! Do not do business with this company!!!! They make huge mistakes and then want to charge you for there mistakes. We went to Men's warehouse and they were exceptional from beginning to end. I had a wonderful experience with using The Black Tux for my groomsmen for my wedding. The clothing and accessories are great quality for a very reasonable price point, and I love how many options there are to curate the exact look that my fiancé and I wanted. Unfortunately, we had to postpone our wedding due to the pandemic, but our groomsmen had already paid for their tuxes. I reached out to The Black Tux to see if there was anything they could do to help, and they were able to issue credits for each of my groomsmen that would last a year after our original wedding date. Now, when the groomsmen need to reorder for the new wedding date, they won't have to pay a second fee. I highly recommend The Black Tux for the quality, variety and customer service! read more

Similar to Samantha A's review, the associate who helped us was AWFUL. I believe his name was Raul and he was so difficult to work with. My husband (fiance at the time), had used the Black Tux before for many weddings and knew he wanted his groomsmen to rent from there. We were excited that Austin had a showroom inside of Nordstroms, because it was geographically very convenient and two of his groomsmen were on the larger side, so we wanted to ensure they could get decent fitting tuxes. First off, we were very surprised by the limited assortment that was in the showroom, ultimately we were told it was primarily for sizing not for styling. Secondly, I know it clearly states that only 2 people can be measured in an appointment, but when we arrived, we told Raul that if possible, could we squeeze in a 3rd. He agreed and confirmed "if there was time." Overall, Raul was not helpful. Could not give specific details on the differences between the tuxes and got rather upset when we asked for additional sizes to try on. Anyway, sure enough 30 minutes in our 45 minute appointment, 2 groomsmen were done and we assumed he would accommodate measuring the 3rd, but Raul would NOT do it. He said his next appointment was waiting already (even though he confirmed we had 15 minutes left in our appointment) and gave us attitude. Showed up to the showroom after an hour and a half of travel. We waited for someone for an hour and fifteen minutes. Turns out there was no one there to fit us and no one had called to tell us. Drove the hour and a half home and will not be using them for our wedding. Save yourself the time and work with someone who can be bothered to show up. read more

Had a very solid experience with The Black Tux! My brother-in-law set everything up, all I had to do was follow the instructions and it was very simple and straightforward. The way it's set up, you're supposed to provide your measurements and do everything online, and then they send it all to you in a box in the mail. I hadn't worn a tux in years, though, and didn't have my measurements, so I scheduled an appointment to go in in person and get measured. I'm glad I did too because I have odd measurements! My appointment was quick and easy, got measured, tried stuff on, and made sure to go over everything that would be included in my box. It arrived a week or so later as scheduled, everything included that we went over. I was worried things would be wrinkled, seeing as it's a tuxedo packed into a small box, but everything was actually fine. Very sharp looking tux! Afterwards, I packed everything up, and used the included shipping label to send it all back. Very efficient process, and quality threads - would highly recommend! read more

Rental Tux Nightmare. Making a reservation for a tux fitting was only the easy part of this process. We made an appointment for 6pm and arrived early about 5pm to see if we were able to be seen sooner. The appointment was for a groom, two groomsmen and a father of the bride. We were able to find a female sales associate who told us we were unable to be seen early due to her coworker not available at that time. And asked us to move out of the chairs so she could see her appointment. About 530pm we were greeted from a male associate, who then asked us all if we had made an account which we hadn't been aware to do so. We had to put in our measurements which was odd... He did not sit down with myself (the bride) or groom to ask us what kind of tux we wanted or had envisioned. He rushed the two groomsmen to the back for fittings. At this time a couple arrived and we overheard them speaking to the associate stating that, they received their package and only got a couple items and NO TUX. They had spent an hour and a half on the phone with customer service and had found out that the tux they had ordered is not available IN THE WHOLE COUNTRY and were never notified. At that time, I was very uncomfortable to order from this company. We spoke our concerns to the male associate and he stated he understood. He said we could pay in full and call customer service ourselves to see if the tux was available and MAYBE guarantee deliver. We left and did not order from this company and never will. Awful customer service. They need a better system on notifying customers of non availability. That being said, for this company to be located in Nordstrom, I expected better. read more

I rented my tux for my 10 year wedding anniversary party. Made an appointment at the Barton Creek Mall location inside Nordstroms to get fitted and it was super quick and easy. Got my suit a week or so before my event and everything fit perfect. The suit was a big hit and I had so many compliments. My fiancé and I visited the black tux today and had an appointment with Raul. He was extremely helpful and kind, he made sure to answer all of our questions. He also walked us through how to setup a registry online for the groomsmen and told us all of the details, even about the at home try out. If I could give no stars I would. Nothing against the company or Nordstrom's itself, however the associate who helped us has completely turned us off from using the company for suiting as a whole. My fiancé and I were very excited when we heard about the concept of 'the black tux' and the ease that goes along with it. As our wedding approaches within the next two months we thought we would make an appointment to see the material/style tux my fiancé would like to wear at our wedding in Paris. When we arrived the man we had an appointment set up with, Andrew, was extremely rude almost as if he had better things to do then help us. At one point I asked the difference between the peak lapel tux and the notch lapel tux and he replied "did you not see the peak in the first tux?!" In an extremely rude and condescending tone while rolling his eyes, then went on to slam the tux onto the rack as if in rage that I did not know the difference. Obviously I don't know anything about tuxedos, if I did I wouldn't have set up an appointment with an expert. I will not have someone treat me as if I'm an idiot and act bothered by my presence when I am trying to give business to a company and probably commission to the associate. Andrew also didn't help us at all, he put an iPad in front of my fiancé and told him to just create his outfit and order it. I have no idea the difference in styles, materials, fit, gauges of time in terms of how long it takes to get here or how long before I ship it back. Andrew didn't even take my fiancé's measurements he just guessed and made a little note and told us to order ourselves, he didn't even have my fiancé try on any styles to see look or fit. After he continued to be disrespectful to my fiancé and I we just got up and left because of his rude tone of voice and unwillingness to help, complete waste of time. My advice to the company is to hire better employees to represent their brand and not chase their potential customers away. The worst taste has been left in my mouth by this whole experience and I am just very let down by a company that has such good potential but obviously will not take off with staff like Andrew. Nordstrom's should truly consider dropping the brand if they will not staff with friendly people who do not look you in the eye, do not smile, do not act interested in you, and make remarks as if you are stupid. Unfortunately I'll have to take my business elsewhere and will ensure I do not recommend this company to any of my colleagues who are getting married in the future or need suiting for work.
