Blueberry hot cakes
Lok Yi L.

I love the blueberry hotcakes! You could taste the crunch outside when it's hot and soft inside. Better than many famous brunch places Friendly service - staff is helpful and friendly. We were sitting in the patio area, love the environment. Trees provided a nice shade.

Cobb salad w/ steak & calamari

Review for Tuesday night. This restaurant was highly recommended by our hotel front desk. We really enjoyed our food. I had Cobb salad with steak, and my husband had some kind of steak and my daughter had blake house burger. We also had calamari, a dessert which was cheesecake and chocolate cake. My daughter said her burger was delicious and cooked to perfection. Amazing dining experience..

Cheese cake was suppos to come with the Turkey

Ordinary food (Sysco food) at extra ordinary prices. Friend ordered a glass of milk $5 ($6.78 AT&T), a mocktail $14.00($18.98 AT&T), Sysco Small slice Cheese cake $12.20 AT&T. I ordered the Chichken $27 ($36.61 AT&T) my reciept attached. At those prices we should have went to the Keg. The food was very ordinary. As for the service half the time we had a waitress the other time the owner was serving us, understaffed.

Thanksgiving turkey dinner
Danielle B.

My friend and I had Thanksgiving dinner here and we were very pleased with our meal. From the moment we walked in, the staff were extremely polite and friendly, and they were able to accommodate us even though we didn't have a reservation. They were serving a traditional turkey dinner with all the fixings, such as mashed potatoes, stuffing, roasted vegetables and cranberry sauce. Nothing overly fancy, but that's exactly what we wanted! So many restaurants try to "elevate" a roast dinner and it doesn't always work out. I absolutely love a traditional roast dinner, especially at Thanksgiving! They served a caramel pecan cheesecake for dessert that was exceptionally good. Very creamy texture and not overly sweet. I'm not usually a fan of cheesecake but this was delicious. I would recommend this place based on service alone, but the food was also good.

Hazelnut Banana Pancakes (+ sausage)

I came on a Saturday for brunch, not too busy. Easy to miss if you're just driving by, the Blake House really is a converted old house. Brunch is only available weekends, but the lunch menu is still offered. I ordered the Hazelnut Banana Pancakes, with added sausage (3 for $2), and my date ordered the Blake House burger. The Pancakes come with 3 pretty large pancakes, covered generously in Nutella, topped with a few banana slices. Didn't need to add any additional syrup. I liked how the edges of the pancakes were almost crispy. Quite a big portion for one person; a bit too much sweetness for me. The burger was very average. I liked how you can customize it, and it comes with a tray of mayo, mustard, relish for you to put yourself, but otherwise there wasn't much special about it. Service was alright, and price is very reasonable.

Disappointed. They have such great reviews on Yelp and Google but nothing I experienced was above average. I tried the cocktail hour springs rolls $7 for 3 cut in half. They weren't bad but the seasoning was a little different. Didn't taste like Asian spring rolls. The pastry was nice and flaky and the sauce was delicious. Thier lava calada was delicious. Strawberry puree and pinacolda yum! The chicken sliders were bland its supposed to come with mango slaw and only two had ONE slice of mango on them and the bread wasn't that soft. The mac and cheese was tasty and comes with a side of greens The burger party was extremely dense and dry. Thank God I added pulled pork. The mix green I got instead of fries were delicious but they charge an extra $1 I don't think I would give them another shot

Winterlicious menu

Decided to do a last minute Winterlicious night, we decided to try to call ahead to see if we could get a reservation. The person on the phone said there wasn't but to come and they would get us sorted. When we arrived it was pretty busy and we were given a choice between the bar table or wait for a table that was going to clear up in a couple minutes. As we didn't mind the bar table we headed there for our meal. We decided to get the salon and wild haddock fish cake and the traditional horiatiki Greek salad, Cabernet braised lamb shank and the vanilla cheesecake and baked toffee banana bread pudding. The food came quite fast, it was an ok portion for the appetizers. The fish cakes were good the jalapeño aioli had a big kick to it. The braised lamb shank was delicious with a great helping of mashed potatoes and beans. The dessert was delicious and highly recommend either one if you can't decide to try each! The restaurant was busy the entire time we were there but wasn't incredibly loud either at the bar. My one thing was that to check your receipt as the way the winterlicious $45 is spread out some items were lowered to add up to it but we were almost charged the normal price of the fish cakes which made the total not add up. It was an easy fix and overall a great nice restaurant for the value we paid for.

Turkey Dinner take out. Good portion size
Chloe O.

Picked up turkey dinner($27 + tax) for Christmas dinner. It was my 3rd time I had turkey dinner from here( Dined in twice, 1 take out) I know this is exactly how I want my turkey dinner to be. Tukey done right, veggies crunchy, not overcooked or overseasoned, craberry sauce from real chunks of cranberries, and carrot cake to finish! I had to work yesterday and today, having just-reheat-ready-to-serve-but-decent dinner was very nice. There are still two more days to order this special dinner!!

Ordered their signature house burger! I can see the quality of food, but flavor wise is quite mediocre. They are on Summerlicious if anyone wants to try. The portion is large, one appetizer one main course one dessert on the Summerlicious menu can be a lot.

My delicious club sandwich with chicken and gouda

Very nondescript outside facade - no sign telling you what it is other than a small "BSC" (for Bovine Sex Club) painted near the door. Hard to miss though as the exterior is made up a punk rock style sculpture of rusted bikes & other assorted ephemera. The interior is similar, visually. Great sound system & chill vibes pervade throughout. Weirdly the stage is right in the entrance of the club, on your left, with a long bar along the right side, heading back. Great, crowd, great location in cool area with lots of restaurants & plenty of parking - both on the street up to 2 hours & extended parking for a flat-rate of CA$20 (~$14 USD) from 6:00pm until the next morning, just 2 blacks away.

Are the beer cans running out? It's possible. But, it's a dive in the way of the old dives. And the acoustics for bands are... not great. But they are a sign of what once was. Without attempting to try to present a front of a time long gone, The Bovine simply exists today as it once did in that time long ago, before Smokes stickers, before iPhones, back when people would just go to a bar to talk with those they didn't know the morning prior. This was first on our list, located in the Scotiabank Tower on Adelaide. We got a nice corner table, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting, not too loud but not library-like either. The music, mostly UK fare like their cuisine, played an acceptable volume that my friends and I didn't have to raise our voices. We were seated very promptly, and our server took care to attend to my friend's allergy. She even asked to change my friend's cutlery when another server brought the wrong salad. My appetizer was a hot-smoked salmon pâté, which was ok by itself, but eaten with the pickles gave it that taste I wouldn't forget. I chose for my main the Petit Roast Dinner; the cut was excellent, full of flavour and juicy to boot. The gravy for said cut just brought the roast to another level. The sides were delicious as well, especially the crispiness of the potatoes. A clean plate was the end result! Finally to finish the meal, I chose the chocolate banoffee cheesecake - I never pass on any cheesecake when it's offered. And it didn't disappoint! The banana brûlée was an interesting touch, while having toffee sauce drizzled on the cheesecake was a first (and not definitely last) for me! All in all, it was a nice introduction to The Rabbit Hole, and I can't wait to go down there again!
