When I moved to Atlanta, (and traversed certain age milestones), I knew that like working out and fitting into my highschool size was sometimes easier than handling my blonde hair. After years of "blond upkeep", being "spoiled" with hair care, and even some years navigating through hair disaster recovery, finding that Perfect Hair Designer all over again in Atlanta, for my never ending beautiful blond hair needs - was going to be a makeover challenge. Hair grows fast . Though I was blessed like my mother (who died in her 70s without a gray hair) now into my 60s, my dark hair roots continue to grow out. I set an intention to attract the perfect colorist for my ever evolving blonde hair needs. It might've been Yelp or the Internet, but I remember calling five or six salons in the ATL area. Each one had an issue - couldn't get an appointment in time, went there to visit them and they were unprofessional. They didn't answer the phone and you just left a message, or some snooty person gets back to you. Hair stylist is a relationship! You want one for life! Number one. Easy Booking. Taylor picked up the phone right away. On a Sunday! He picks up the phone to speak to you personally or gets back to you right away. Number two. Professional. Taylor took the time to see if I was a good match for his skill set and scheduled an appointment to meet to see if if help me with my hair. Number three. Location. He's in a great spot good parking easy to get to in the heart of Atlanta. Number four. Talent. After meeting Taylor for a little while. It became clear that not only was he an artist - but he's also a "rockstar" in the literal sense. He usually has a few guitars hanging on the wall. (He started as a rock musician and he's also a fine artist, oil painter, and Photographer/videographer). That talent - I quickly discovered - extends right out to his hair artistry, as yet another aspect of his constant seeking for performance and perfection for every hair client. Number five. Specialized. Unlike many do-it-all hairstylist and colorists that I have met, he is a true craftsman and lifelong student in his specialty. Several times a year I have known him to fly across the country, just to take a specific training class, or to work with a specific stylist or product or company, just to pick up a new technique in blonde hair from other schools or experts. I'm writing this review as a warning- because I came across this man, Taylor, on Google- and trusted the ratings. I'll summarize the longer review below- do not trust this creepy, unprofessional, racist stylist (who brags about fornicating with college girls as a 34 year old) and claims he has been blacklisted by other salons because he was "too good". My scalp has actual blisters and half of my hair is melted off and broken at the root- so it will be years before I recover from this horror story. I wrote a long Now the actual events- I contacted "The BlondeBar" explaining that I needed to find a new bleach and tone expert. I explained that because I have fragile Norwegian hair, my previous stylist (who is now cutting eight inches off my beloved long hair), used a very gentle 10-15 volume bleach. Taylor scoffed and said that was just "wasting time" but I ignored my gut and heeded the desperation of long grown roots (if you know, you know. It's not a cute look) I arrived to my appointment at 2:00 and he rolled in about the same time. With a very odd look in his eye he asked me if I was "ops" and explained he had "many enemies". I was a little take aback by this but again, stupidly ignored my gut. I explained who I was and he let me into his studio saying now he remembered me. As I sat down in his chair we again chatted through my hair history- where he kept trying to convince me to foil my hair "to be blonde as fuck" because I was "too high of caliber" to be a just a bleach and tone. I said I preferred my look as again I am half Norwegian, and light hair matches my features well. Taylor then said he would order a car to go get bleach (like what?) and asked me what brand was previously used. I gave him two kinds and he came back with a random blue based bleach and a 50 volume developer (which he swears up and down he didn't use on me but the blister on my scalp and down my face say otherwise. Not too mention my melted off hair. Which has never happened in my 7 years since getting a platinum card. He haphazardly (literally shaking in the bleach unmeasured from the tube and squeezing the developer from halfway across the salon) mixed together my solution while explaining "Biden Bleach"- his concept of weakened bleach every since Biden was in office. Let's be real for a second here- I should have walked away right there. But I am a people pleaser and I again was very vain about have dark roots. So this is partially my fault- note to myself and every woman out there- if it feels wrong don't do it. If they seem like a creep and talk about women as sex objects- run and don't look back. Back to the hair though- so he starts applying a foamy bleach mixture to my head, which is a no no for two reasons. One- the back of your head has the most heat and processes faster so your front is done way before the top of your hair and two- a foamy/expanding bleach meant my bleach was getting overlapped. Both of these things are basic rules? At this point I was concerned- but didn't see the 50 volume- or I would have washed it off immediately and left. Once he had slapped the bleach all over my head he said he needed to leave for 5 minutes. This happened multiple times throughout the process and I was left alone while he did... whatever he was doing (he came back more manic every time but I did not witness anything). He came back and bragged about how he cheated on his girlfriend in hair-school, ghosted her for a month, then took her home when she was with another "rival stylist" in this area. He said that's why he's been having fake followers and reviews which messed with his algorithm. At this point my scalp is burning like crazy- which he said was just anxiety. In walks another client, so he takes me to the bowl to rinse. He checks my roots and says he will just tone over the yellow. Then he says we could do a second very short bleach and I would be platinum again. I agree (again what was I thinking? I didn't to be labeled as anxious and difficult- Taylor is good at getting you to believe in his "mojo") so again the bleach is slapped on and he puts his headphones in while he does a partial on another client "because she talks to much". I tell him my scalp is actually on fire (which I now know was blistering skin and not anxiety) and he agrees is rinse it. The other girl leaves to go to the bathroom and he comments on how flirty she is with him and that she is slutty but he has too much "mojo" to mess with. He sends her outside and begins to tone my hair in the chair. As the brush starts running through, my hairs strings and snaps like wet spaghetti into it. At this point we both knew. He started making excuses about how pretty I was and he only took beautiful clients, but my hair needed a different rhythm. Again I told him EXACTLY how to do my hair from the second text message we had to again that day- at any point he could have said no- this isn't his expertise. Ummm all I can say is what the actual.... I called this morning to get pricing on a full set of highlights and word for word this was what I was met with "Well how much of regrowth do you have because I'm not going to go cross country for your hair but if it's in the stratosphere than maybe. And I don't do old women's hair. I only do young women's hair because they're easy, you know? Old women just come in and start bitching." I wish I was kidding. I'm 27 years old so I don't even know why he started talking about old vs young? My fiancé was just staring at me in literal disbelief as he heard this conversation unfold. To say Tyler is amazing is an understatement. He literally transformed my brassy, dull, awful highlights I received at a nearby salon. I've been searching for the right colorist for over four years and I am continually disappointed no matter how much money I spend. I honestly don't even know where to begin with this review, I was looking at streamly forward to going to the salon as I have been platinum blonde for several years. I just moved back to the South and was looking for a specialist, I found Taylor and the salon through Instagram and was so excited to get my hair done here, I told all my friends about it and knew I was going to leave with the most beautiful hair. When I showed up they didn't have the products he had on dirty clothes which he had to apologize for...(him and his assistant left me there while they went to get product) he acted as if he did not know what I was there for, when we had multiple messages through Instagram stating that I just wanted my hair brightened up a little bit for my wedding instead he did a full root retouch/ a bleach and tone but he didn't even do that himself his assistant did while he ran in and out of the salon doing random things like buying flowers Etc although I didn't mind that she was doing my hair I certainly wasn't paying for her to do it I was paying for him because I thought he was the best in the area. The next thing that happened was he told her to not put olaplex in my mixture which is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard sense us blondes go so often for him to suggest that his assistant shouldn't put that in and should put sugar in place of that is ridiculous. I understand that sweet and low or sugar can be used to help the scalp not burn but you do not use it in place of olaplex. The salon had not been cleaned there was still hair and the chair from the person before me the floor was completely dirty it looked trashed in there even his assistant complain the whole time and says she hated his mess and that she was always cleaning up because he was so dirty, also she rolled her eyes at pretty much everything he said because he was so spaced out. Before I went in my hair color was perfectly even all exactly the same color I just wanted a little brightened up, when I left that's the complete opposite of what I got. When I left my hair was extremely fragile and pieces were coming out of my head oh, yes I understand anyone reading this may say well you are platinum blonde that's going to happen but I've been doing my hair for quite a while and I've never had this happen before it's because they didn't use the correct products and they didn't put care into what was being put into my head and mind you he didn't even or she rather didn't even pull the color through so for me to be losing hair is a little ridiculous and just to top everything off there were still some places with roots showing underneath and the whole back of my hair underneath when you pull it up wasn't even toned. My fiance who doesn't even know anything about hair LOL even seen the DraStic difference underneath. I sent a message to the salon they confirmed that what they did was wrong which doesn't get the Integrity of my hair back but at least he did refund my money so that's about the only positive thing I can say about him but that doesn't cover the cost of me having to do additional conditioning treatment because of his poor service and unprofessionalism. To be kind and not leave this on a completely sour note oh, I know he is fully capable of doing beautiful hair and I'm sure also that he could leave some Integrity to the hair but I would be cautious because honestly you just never know what you make it. The only way to contact him is via phone or Instagram so I also had a friend try to book with him and he cancels appointments last minute so I would say go here if you're willing to take the risk but don't let the awesome Instagram pictures full you into thinking this is some magical salon and he's the only one that can do beautiful blonde. read more

When I first moved to Atlanta I tried a couple of other hairdressers Until Taylor actually walked up to me in a coffee shop and talked to me about my hair. Taylor is really great at what he does. I moved to Atlanta from Miami Beach and year and a half ago and he's the only person I've let touch my hair since Mark at McAllister. I am Hispanic and have a different thicker and slightly coarser hair texture which can be easily damaged and Taylor has been very careful when bleaching it and taken me up many levels without damage. He continuously talked about all the "hoes" he fucks and degraded women, stories of him shoplifting, and how cool he thinks he is. This is the most unprofessional, weird salon I have been to. I say that because he posts videos of sparklers going out of his asshole, cringe-worthy freestyles, and selfie videos of him lying in bed naked listening to music. In addition, he invited me to his apartment and I have only gone to this "salon" once (which even if I went more than once, still NOT okay to ask a costumer to do). Plus, in the middle of the appointment he started playing his guitar in attempts to impress me or something. The "salon" is the size of a closet and an absolute mess. Taylor destroyed my hair! The placement of color was done well but he completely fried my hair. I have lost 3/4 of my hair which has broken off at the root since and the remaining 1/4 is extremely dried and fried. I have only gotten my hair professionally done and don't use heat.
