    Meatloaf dinner
    Steve C.

First visit since they have changed hands and renamed the restaurant. Came here for dinner, restaurant was very dimly lit; it was a stormy night and too dark inside - I had to use my phone's flashlight in order to read the menu. Chairs seats were worn and uncomfortably hard. Had the meatloaf dinner and upgraded to a side of brussels sprouts. The meatloaf and mashed potatoes were very good, but the brussels sprouts were not as they were overcooked and flavorless. They have a handful of craft drafts along with a full bar. Service was excellent.

Have you heard my poem? "This is the only bar in town, that has my drink ready when I sit down". BB Tavern in Freehome, GA, is a great restaurant in my little hometown. I call it my hometown because I've lived here for 27 years and moved from Atlanta. John Michael King is the manager & bartender at BB Tavern! JM is amazing! A lot of people depend on reviews and that's the way the world works these days. However, if I never did another review, John Michael King would continue to serve at the highest level every single night I come in. They have the best servers, the best food and this place is full night after night. Shhhh! Don't tell anybody. You won't be able to get a seat if you do!

There were some hits and misses but overall it's okay and worth a visit. If you are hungry start with the nachos. The thick chips held up nicely and there was plenty of toppings throughout each bite. It was a generous serving. I would say they were the highlight of the meal. The pico was bland. They were out of the pretzels that was one of the reasons I came in for. Maybe next time. The brussel sprouts were a little undercooked so the flavor was good but they were a little hard. The side of sweet potato fries were tasty and decently seasoned. I would order them again. Overall the service and food were alright. I will come back at some point to try a few more items. If it's better than this visit I will update. Some items are reasonably priced but overall a little pricey.

We checked out B&B Free home for dinner. They had live music and great vibes. We started with the brussel sprouts, mozzarella sticks, and diablo shrimp. The appetizers were delicious! The brussel sprouts come with bacon. The mozzarella sticks were delicious with the sauce. The diablo shrimp were great and the jicama was refreshing. For the entrees, we got the grilled salmon and the chicken & shrimp pasta. The salmon was amazing and came with grits and asparagus! The pasta was alright. For drinks, we got the Heart of Gold and the Bourbon Smash. We got 2 rounds and the 1st round was delicious and the 2nd round was alright. I think different bar tenders made it. My faves and what I would highly recommend are the mozzarella sticks, diablo shrimp, salmon, and the drinks.

First time trying this place. For appetizer, we tried the Buffalo Chicken Nachos. The chips were big and crunchy. It held the toppings well when eating. The flavors meshed well together. The drinks we got were the Smoked Chili Paloma and Fig-N-Tini. Loved both. The B&B Blues Burger was a bit too sweet for me. The Spicy Jack Smash Burger wasn't spicy. Both burgers were charred on the edges- a little over cooked. But the good thing about the burgers were they were juicy. The blueberry cheesecake was delicious. Some part of it was too sweet (I think it was the topping) but the cheesecake was just right. Love it. Our server Martha was super sweet! I loved how she recommended things along the way. It helped us out a lot as new time customers. She was super welcoming. The ambiance was nice! I love the live music. The music brought me back! He made me feel like I was at a concert. Great performance and he's funny too. Looking forward to trying the other items on the menu next time!

B&B is one of my favorite places in Cumming. Good consistent food, fun drink specials, and BRUNCH! (yes, this is a theme in my other reviews) They typically have themed dishes for holidays like St. Patrick's Day and Cinco de Mayo. Check out their website, it's up-to-date and full of upcoming events. Menu options are good for all types of eaters. Everyone is friendly and you feel right at home when you walk in. I love the long table right in the middle of the restaurant. It's good for a big group, but also gives small groups to sit next to each other and get to know each other. Usually, there is live music during the dinner hour, which keeps the atmosphere lively. If you need a space for a larger party, they also have an event space right next door. It's as beautifully decorated as the restaurant side.

I had heard many good things about the menu and could not wait to try out several dishes. We tried a couple of appetizers. The pimento cheese fritters were incredible and I loved the sauce it came with. We also tried the Parker house rolls, which were perfect for dipping in our shrimp scampi. We also tried the burrata caprese which was absolutely phenomenal. My daughter, the birthday girl had the summer into fall pasta which was very light and fresh. We also ordered a couple of drinks from the bar. I had a champagne supernova and my daughter had a lavender lemonade. For dessert, we had whiskey chocolate pecan pie and buttermilk pie. Our server was friendly and attentive. You cannot go wrong eating at this establishment. It's perfect in every way.

Was told it would be a 20 minute wait (we were there around 6:30pm) which was fine given that if we left and tried to go anywhere else, it would have taken that much time anyway. Several others came in after us and were told similar or longer times. Hostess mentioned to us that it was crowded inside because it was so hot on the patio. After all the others kept arriving, I happened to ask if the patio was closed and she said no, to which I said we were actually fine sitting out there. Then, all the other parties waiting said the same thing, so we all got seated immediately. Hubby had the special which was meatloaf. I had the burrata salad with added grilled chicken. Mine was the perfect size for a light but filling dinner. My husband said his was good too and even recommended it to a lady who asked about it from a nearby table. He even got a free cupcake for his birthday. Service has always been very friendly. Ambiance inside can get rather noisy, but the patio was better even with cars and a plethora of Amazon trucks going through the roundabout. Temp actually wasn't too bad. Fans, shade, and a little breeze helped. Glad I asked about patio!

Our table slanted down a bit, and that was a little awkward but the benefit was that condensation rolled to the end instead of into our laps. Also my chair had two metal dog bowls underneath that made a racket whenever I moved the chair. Our server was friendly but over shared often. For my meal I had the salmon with bourbon glaze. It was cooked properly and had good flavor. The lettuce leaf under it was different; I think I could have done without. The fish came with my choice of two sides and I picked the green beans and the cornbread stuffing. Both were quite salty. The green beans were not very green and overcooked. There were two elbow macaroni mixed in. The cornbread was mushy and covered in gravy. It tasted fine, I just would have preferred more texture. Both beers were very good. I had a sour to start that was like a very tart pink lemonade. The pink color came from blueberries but I'm not sure I detected any blueberry flavor. My second beer was That Coconut Porter and it was mellow and smooth with good coconut flavor and nice dark color. There was lots of street parking and many shops and restaurants in the area. A band began playing in the taproom next to the restaurant at some time. Also a large outdoor space that was full of kids running around playing as I was going home. Looked like a fun place for everyone.
