Really enjoyed my first visit to The Blue Fish Kitchen! The fish was fresh, well-seasoned, and had a thin, crispy batter that wasn't too heavy. The sauces added a lot of flavor, and the coleslaw was a nice refreshing balance to the fried food. Fries were solid too. The lady working was also incredibly friendly and welcoming. Definitely coming back!

We had an unfortunate experience at this spot, ordered for pickup through Yelp due to seeing good reviews, and it was the smelliest fish we have ever purchased from a restaurant. It smelled awful, we had to throw both orders away, and that was unacceptable and unfortunate. We had gotten fish tacos and fish and chips, based on the cost you would think it would be tasty and fresh but no it wasn't :( couldn't stand the awful smell so we had to toss it.

    Grilled Fish Tacos (Jan 2026)

Coming out of a sports tournament in Redwood City late at night and starving, the Blue Fish Kitchen was the perfect solution as we wanted a high-quality meal that also included seafood. Located in a gas station parking area, the bright yellow food truck was easy to find, and there were a good number of menu options along with a statement that the owner partners with local fishermen to ensure tasty seafood -- something we were eager to test. The owner was really nice and patient as we tried to decide how many things to try. Paying with a credit card was helpful as a lot of other places in the area mainly push for cash only. We sipped on fresh lemonade (with an excellent balance of tang and sweet) as we waited for our freshly cooked platters of grilled fish tacos and mixed fried seafood. There is also a covered seated area with a few plastic tables and chairs which was really convenient. The grilled fish tacos were wonderful, with a generous, beautifully cooked filet in each of the 3 tacos and topped with pico de gallo and plenty of fresh herbs, along with some chips, excellent salsa and some lemon wedges. The mixed seafood platter included a plentiful portion of fried fish, plump shrimp, and calamari rings--everything's was nicely fried and seasoned well, and went great with the house made tartar sauce as well as cocktail sauce. It came with French fries (which were on the softer side) and crispy, creamy coleslaw. Definitely coming back to the Blue Fish Kitchen!

Zucchini Sticks, Onion Rings, Mix Fried Platter

Over the weekend, I was craving some fried fish for an early lunch recently and stumbled upon this spot. I ordered the mixed seafood platter along with a side of onion rings and fried zucchini sticks to share. I would give the seafood platter a 5/5. Everything was fried nicely and the fish really hit the spot for me. The fried calamari were also pretty unique and had a great texture. The real standout for me though was the onion rings. They were lightly battered, perfectly crispy, and honestly some of the best onion rings I've had in a while. I'd definitely come back just for those alone. Unfortunately, the fried zucchini sticks were just not very good. Not only were they very mushy on the inside, they also carried a strange aftertaste that I didn't enjoy at all. Service-wise, the owner was very friendly and welcoming, and the food came out pretty quickly even though we were some of the first customers of the day. The ambiance is very casual since it's a food truck setup, but the fruit stand right next to it gives the place a nice local charm and makes it a pleasant spot for a quick lunch.

    Angel's Special

This place is great! I got the Angel's Special and the food portion was so big that it was seeping out the sides! It comes with fried fish filets, calamari, fried shrimp and fries, topped off with a humungous baja taco! Everything was fried to perfection and wasn't overly greasy either! The coleslaw side is a refreshing to have in between bites. Highly recommend!

Great customer service but the fish was sooooo bland I couldn't eat it . I don't think I'll return.

    The truck

Hands down the best grilled fish tacos on the peninsula. Fresh ingredients, generous portions--you get three large tacos that are both satisfying and light enough to feel like a healthy choice. The truck is parked along the marina in Redwood City, which makes the pickup spot even better. It's made to order, so if you walk up to the truck expect about 10 minutes. I usually order online and pick up, which makes it super easy. Fast, tasty, and consistent. This has become one of my go‑to staples for a casual meal that's healthy, flavorful, and always worth it. I kinda want some right now!

    Mix Fried Platter

I've had this food truck bookmarked for years! So glad that I finally got around to trying it. Parking in the Redwood City Marina area on a weekend was plentiful and the ambience really enhanced our experience: warm peninsula weather coupled with a great bay/water/pier view accompanied our meal perfectly! There wasn't a line and the food prep took about 10 minutes. Plenty of dockside public seating to be found and take in the views while we waited. We ordered the Mix Fried Platter and were pleasantly surprised by how much food was stacked in the box! Everything seemed to have been made fresh to order. By far, the winner of the platter had to be the shrimp. Lightly battered and decently sized/plump. The calamari was also pretty good as well! Wouldn't hesitate to come back if I'm in the area.

Heard so much about this place and would always miss the truck. Finally found it on Middlefield rd at the am pm in Redwood City on a weekday. The gentleman was very friendly and nice. Got the fish n chips and some churros since everyone has been raving about it. Fish n chips was ok for me. It lacked seasoning and wasn't flavorful. The fries on the other hand were really good and seasoned great. The churros were good, but I'm not a fan of cream filling especially in churros so that's the only thing I didn't like about the churros. The food wasn't memorable, but service was great.

If you're looking to eat some delicious fried seafood with a beautiful view of the bay, definitely check this spot out. It's a little out of the way unless you're working in the area or sailing your boat, but it's worth it. We came on a Sunday and spotted the yellow food truck along the water in parking lot. We ordered the mixed fried platter for $22, which came with 3 pc fried shrimp, calamari, and 2 of pc fried fish, french fries, coleslaw, and lots of sauces (ketchup, cocktail sauce, sriracha mayo). The food came out within 5-10 minutes and the service was friendly. Some of the seafood tasted more freshly fried than others. However, the shrimp was my favorite... lightly battered and piping hot. The fish was good, but not as fresh and flaky as I've had at other places. There are plenty of outdoor picnic tables and spots to eat. It was the perfect sunny day to sit, relax, and enjoy the view of the beautiful bay. It was the most relaxed I've felt in a while!

    Shrimp Quesadilla
    Elayna N.

4.5/5 so rounded up to 5. Visited this spot during PortFest. Very unassuming truck. There was a short line but service was super fast. We split a shrimp quesadilla (huge) and got a watermelon and pineapple agua Fresca. Shrimp quesadilla 5/5 The shrimp was perfectly seasoned and tasted so delicious with the melted cheese and green salsa. Wish there was slightly more shrimp though. I'll be back for another for sure as it was just very tasty! Agua frescas 4/5 These were tasty but $7 each made them pretty pricey. There's also no ice included so it doesn't taste as good and refreshing as it could be. Overall, I wanna try more things as their portions are huge and good is tasty!!

calamari and fries were amazing, generous serving, crispy outside and juicy inside calamari. Cole slaw was super tasty, flavorful enough yet light. Came with all of the sauces and lemon by default. Loved the $4 churro as well, fresh and piping hot vanilla sauce inside so be careful!

Found this hidden gem, wasn't real sure what to expect but the fish tacos were exceptional. The flavors were great, the fresh fish was awesome and the fact it was grilled and not fried, made it even better. As a chef it takes a lot to impress me and this one hit on all notes. Keep up the great work.

This unassuming Mexican restaurant is elevating flavors and using the freshest produce in the best way possible. I ordered the ceviche trio and was delighted with the presentation large fresh prawns with avocado, ( I think ) Serrano chile salsa with cucumber chunks and purée, cilantro and tomato may have been my favorite. I also loved the Dorado- tropical mango forward mahi mahi with habanero chiles, red onion, ripe tomato pico and tajin seasoning. The traditional Pescado with rockfish and a limey tomato taste with lots of cilantro accents was also delicious. I kept loading the large, thick chips with the three different masterful concoctions, shocked by the way the fruit and vegetable aromas shone and the fish smelled of ... not fish... just freshness and maybe a hint of sea salt. I sat near the bar and watched delicious cocktails being made with fruit purées and so many different kinds and brands of tequila, mezcal, rum and vodka. I definitely need to bookmark this place for a girl's night. I ate my fill and tonight, I shall perform my greatest culinary trick/hack. We found the flavors to be good, but the chicken was incredibly dry. The paella was good. When we order paella, our favorite part is the crusty, flavorful part that is burned into the pan. Unfortunately, the paella at Bahche is served in a different pan than where it was cooked, so the crusty part is missing. The advantage for them to do it this way is that they can cook it in large batches and serve it quickly when ordered. Although we did kind of miss that component of the meal, we liked that they had both chicken and salmon in the paella, making it more substantial. They must have done a shift change when we were there. Some restaurants will introduce the new server, but we did not experience that during our visit. After we finished our meal, we had to wait awhile before our server appeared. It seemed unusual because the restaurant did not seem very busy at the time. It might have been because we were seated outside rather than in the dining room. Overall, we found Bahche to be a nice place for casual dining, especially if you have a dog.
