We had an unfortunate experience at this spot, ordered for pickup through Yelp due to seeing good reviews, and it was the smelliest fish we have ever purchased from a restaurant. It smelled awful, we had to throw both orders away, and that was unacceptable and unfortunate. We had gotten fish tacos and fish and chips, based on the cost you would think it would be tasty and fresh but no it wasn't :( couldn't stand the awful smell so we had to toss it.

This place is great! I got the Angel's Special and the food portion was so big that it was seeping out the sides! It comes with fried fish filets, calamari, fried shrimp and fries, topped off with a humungous baja taco! Everything was fried to perfection and wasn't overly greasy either! The coleslaw side is a refreshing to have in between bites. Highly recommend!

Coming out of a sports tournament in Redwood City late at night and starving, the Blue Fish Kitchen was the perfect solution as we wanted a high-quality meal that also included seafood. Located in a gas station parking area, the bright yellow food truck was easy to find, and there were a good number of menu options along with a statement that the owner partners with local fishermen to ensure tasty seafood -- something we were eager to test. The owner was really nice and patient as we tried to decide how many things to try. Paying with a credit card was helpful as a lot of other places in the area mainly push for cash only. We sipped on fresh lemonade (with an excellent balance of tang and sweet) as we waited for our freshly cooked platters of grilled fish tacos and mixed fried seafood. There is also a covered seated area with a few plastic tables and chairs which was really convenient. The grilled fish tacos were wonderful, with a generous, beautifully cooked filet in each of the 3 tacos and topped with pico de gallo and plenty of fresh herbs, along with some chips, excellent salsa and some lemon wedges. The mixed seafood platter included a plentiful portion of fried fish, plump shrimp, and calamari rings--everything's was nicely fried and seasoned well, and went great with the house made tartar sauce as well as cocktail sauce. It came with French fries (which were on the softer side) and crispy, creamy coleslaw. Definitely coming back to the Blue Fish Kitchen!

Found this hidden gem, wasn't real sure what to expect but the fish tacos were exceptional. The flavors were great, the fresh fish was awesome and the fact it was grilled and not fried, made it even better. As a chef it takes a lot to impress me and this one hit on all notes. Keep up the great work.

Hands down the best grilled fish tacos on the peninsula. Fresh ingredients, generous portions--you get three large tacos that are both satisfying and light enough to feel like a healthy choice. The truck is parked along the marina in Redwood City, which makes the pickup spot even better. It's made to order, so if you walk up to the truck expect about 10 minutes. I usually order online and pick up, which makes it super easy. Fast, tasty, and consistent. This has become one of my go‑to staples for a casual meal that's healthy, flavorful, and always worth it. I kinda want some right now!

I've had this food truck bookmarked for years! So glad that I finally got around to trying it. Parking in the Redwood City Marina area on a weekend was plentiful and the ambience really enhanced our experience: warm peninsula weather coupled with a great bay/water/pier view accompanied our meal perfectly! There wasn't a line and the food prep took about 10 minutes. Plenty of dockside public seating to be found and take in the views while we waited. We ordered the Mix Fried Platter and were pleasantly surprised by how much food was stacked in the box! Everything seemed to have been made fresh to order. By far, the winner of the platter had to be the shrimp. Lightly battered and decently sized/plump. The calamari was also pretty good as well! Wouldn't hesitate to come back if I'm in the area.

Heard so much about this place and would always miss the truck. Finally found it on Middlefield rd at the am pm in Redwood City on a weekday. The gentleman was very friendly and nice. Got the fish n chips and some churros since everyone has been raving about it. Fish n chips was ok for me. It lacked seasoning and wasn't flavorful. The fries on the other hand were really good and seasoned great. The churros were good, but I'm not a fan of cream filling especially in churros so that's the only thing I didn't like about the churros. The food wasn't memorable, but service was great.

If you're looking to eat some delicious fried seafood with a beautiful view of the bay, definitely check this spot out. It's a little out of the way unless you're working in the area or sailing your boat, but it's worth it. We came on a Sunday and spotted the yellow food truck along the water in parking lot. We ordered the mixed fried platter for $22, which came with 3 pc fried shrimp, calamari, and 2 of pc fried fish, french fries, coleslaw, and lots of sauces (ketchup, cocktail sauce, sriracha mayo). The food came out within 5-10 minutes and the service was friendly. Some of the seafood tasted more freshly fried than others. However, the shrimp was my favorite... lightly battered and piping hot. The fish was good, but not as fresh and flaky as I've had at other places. There are plenty of outdoor picnic tables and spots to eat. It was the perfect sunny day to sit, relax, and enjoy the view of the beautiful bay. It was the most relaxed I've felt in a while!

4.5/5 so rounded up to 5. Visited this spot during PortFest. Very unassuming truck. There was a short line but service was super fast. We split a shrimp quesadilla (huge) and got a watermelon and pineapple agua Fresca. Shrimp quesadilla 5/5 The shrimp was perfectly seasoned and tasted so delicious with the melted cheese and green salsa. Wish there was slightly more shrimp though. I'll be back for another for sure as it was just very tasty! Agua frescas 4/5 These were tasty but $7 each made them pretty pricey. There's also no ice included so it doesn't taste as good and refreshing as it could be. Overall, I wanna try more things as their portions are huge and good is tasty!!

calamari and fries were amazing, generous serving, crispy outside and juicy inside calamari. Cole slaw was super tasty, flavorful enough yet light. Came with all of the sauces and lemon by default. Loved the $4 churro as well, fresh and piping hot vanilla sauce inside so be careful!

About 4.5 stars. This place is the port of Redwood City Marina on Seaport Court off Seaport Boulevard. The trailer front faces the water; so when you get to the parking lot all you'll see is the bright yellow backside of the truck. There's no signage on the back side btw. My bestie stopped in for the fish & shrimp plate. Came with a tartar, ketchup, cocktail, some kinda mayo sauce, and another sauce with a slight kick but it was not hot though. Portion's BIIIIG easily split between two or for a really hungie person. Shrimp's slightly sweet, fish is (I think) cod, both with light breading. Calamari's the same no thick, heavy coating. Fries are just okay, nothing special he said. Coleslaw's nice, not soggy froggy or drowned in mayo. About $25 ishhhh with tax, I forget tho. The service was hella quick, no line when we went. There are benches and tables nearby with a view of the water if you want to hang out. We totally forgot to ask about malt vinegar gosh dang it, i would've been nice with the fish.Overall, light, pleasant, and I'd go back to try more stuff.

    Mixed Fried Platter

The order was processed quickly--about 10 minutes from payment to pickup--which was great. However, when we got home and my wife opened the plate, it was overflowing with fries. I would estimate about 80% fries and only a small portion of calamari, shrimp, and fish. The fish was also heavily breaded, cut in half, with very little actual meat inside, which was disappointing considering the price. My wife also mentioned that the fries were cold and didn't seem fresh. Overall, it was a bit disappointing for what we paid. That said, we're willing to give them another try in the future and hope the quality improves.

    Jasmine M.

Presently surprised by the amount of fish n chips I got. Service was quick even though there was only one person working when we went. There's some tables set up outside so you're able to sit down and eat

I think there were communication issues. there was some mix up with the tables and throughout the night after that our orders kept getting mixed up with not just one but two other tables. So we would see our food from afar being held in front of a group of servers where they would have a conversation over our plates of food for a few minutes then go to other tables, and try to give it to other tables before it finally got to us. The staff explained there was a mixup and due to that all the orders continued getting mixed up during our meal, but there was no acknowledgment otherwise or an attempt to make things right. I think because the group tip is already mandatory, there was no incentive on their end, perhaps. The bus staff are pretty available and responsive but limited in what they were allowed to assist with and the server was hard to flag down. Anyway onto the food. The clams linguine was flavorful. The crab Alfredo pasta had a lot of crab which was a pleasant surprise but a little lacking in flavor and a little on the sweet side with cream and crab notes. Cioppino was better than expected. Oysters were good and an okay price. Key lime pie was decent. I think 3.5-4 stars for the food (probably 4 at the happy hour rates!), 2 for service. Ambiance is a bit weird. Like somewhat upscale with some decor and high ceilings but not in others. Worthwhile to return for happy hour and may update review then!

It's fresh, it's chunky, it's a nice balance of other toppings - I was in love with it. We ended up ordering more chips (this time Chips & Salsa ($4)), because we had plenty of guacamole left over. The salsa was a nice roasted salsa, rich in flavor but not too spicy. The chips tasted homemade as well, as they weren't overly salted but had a nice crunch to them. They had plenty of homemade Aqua Frescas available, so I got the Strawberry Horchata one. I didn't realize they default to large ($7) from the start, as they also have small & medium. We started the meal with the birria fries which were pretty good. I liked the huge chunks of beef which were really nice and tender but I would have liked to see more inclusion of birria into the dish instead of just the meat, like maybe some of the consommé on the side to dip or maybe tossing some cilantro, onions with the cheese or giving it that fresh squeeze of lime. As is, it's fries with some melted cheese and the chunks of birria. Good, but not a standout to me. My personal favorite came with my tacos. I really liked the scallop taco which came on a jicama "tortilla". It was sweet but crisp and worked well with the fried scallop which was also done well and not over fried. I also really liked the huitlacoche which is a bit of a rare find. It's like corn and mushrooms had a baby. It was really tasty. Both of these completely outdid the pork belly taco which was honestly very good in its own right too. The only downside is that the price is about $8 PER TACO which is a lot so while I applaude the creativity for some, that's tough to choose regularly. Overall, food was good and the vibe was fun. It's a good option on Broadway in Redwood City (but yes, I also think you should choose La Viga first).

The papas bravas was a decent sized serving and came with an addictive sauce. The kale salad came with a piece of fried feta and the only fault I found with it... was that I wanted more fried feta bits! Salmon was cooked well, and I liked the accompanying veggies - seemed like a very healthy Mediterranean dish. The seafood pasta was also very good. Husband said the fish in his dish was cooked even better than mine. Lastly, they offered us a whole complimentary dessert. We were already beyond stuffed at that point, but who are we to turn down a coconut creme brulee? Another review said they couldn't taste the coconut, but it's definitely there. It's not overpowering, but it's a good balance.

It's hard to find good, non Asian food in this area. Most of the ones that are not Asian tend to be…read morerated good because of the amount of food they serve. Bahche is one of the rare exceptions. It has good ambiance, located in a nice area and has good service. We ordered several dishes and everything was very well made -- flavourful, decent serving size and yummy. None of the dishes we ordered were too greasy either. The octopus starter and the lamb chops stood out to me. The only negative I felt were the prices. We landed up spending about $250 for three. That's what one would pay for an upscale steak house with great service -- Bahche was not that good. That's why I reduced the number of stars by 1.
