11/22/25 Zach was craving a burger so we decided to try out the Godfather's Burger Lounge in Belmont. We managed to get a parking spot right across from the street. We got there around 6PM and we were seated right away. It's a small and lively place. Alan helped us that night. Here's what we got: - Untouchables' burger (his) - Soprano's ultimate burger (mine) - Chicken crisps (to share) We were kinda skeptical about the chicken crisps, but they turned out pretty darn good. Perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside. The burgers also came out pretty fast. The fries that accompanied the burgers were fluffy inside with a slight crunch. The burgers are biiiig and smelled really delicious. The burger itself is good, but for mine since it had mushrooms and those were sitting on the bottom bun, it got super soggy so my burger fell apart. I just had the Anka Sliders with a side salad, and the house dressing. Yu-um!! I ordered three and could barely finish these little gems crispy bun. The meat was cooked to perfection. Godfather's is a burger shop with flair and a burger shop with personality. A restaurant with a mixed identity offering American burgers, Italian calamari, and a night time vibe. It can be confusing, but the burgers here are solid! Staff was nice when we visited right at 11am on a Sunday. While we were the first patrons, to our surprise, two more tables filled up quickly with locals--always a good sign. The burgers had personality. Not just on the menu, but also flavor and taste. I'm always in search of the perfect burger, and the raving reviews really got me intrigued to come try it! I also really like supporting local businesses. This place is a tiny burger place in San Carlos that was super duper busy! To be fair, the place is quite small and crowded with street parking only. When you first walk in, don't be alarmed if you're bumping into others while going to the host desk. Fortunately, for my bf and I, we were seated within 10 minutes, even with the crowds. I will say, the table we were at was centered inside the place and the table was oriented differently than the others. This made it difficult for other diners and servers around us to walk. After ordering our food, it took about 15-20 minutes for our burgers to arrive. I noticed that we weren't the only ones that waited for some time, but I guess good things come for those who wait! When our burgers arrived, they looked amazing! Definitely a generous portion, especially being a 1/2 lb burger. The toppings were also super generous. BURGERS: Soprano's Ultimate Burger: 5/5. I loved how it had grilled onions with bacon and mushrooms. Clearly hefty but the toppings were all delicious. The fries were also perfect! Crispy outside with fluffiness inside. Director's Cut Mushroom Burger: 4/5. Again, a hefty burger. This burger came with mushrooms and fried onion strings. It was a bit more difficult to eat... I was wishing for more sauce! Flavor was good overall. For both burgers, we got medium well, but the cook on each burger were completely different. The Sopranos Burger was an expected medium well (pinkish) while the Director's Cut Burger was well done (no pink). I was surprised with the inconsistencies we saw in the burgers. It made the well done burger slightly drier than the medium well one (hence why I typically get medium well). Because if that, I have to ding one star from the review. Overall, I do like the place! I just hope that the cook could be more consistent next time I visit. read more

Upon entering, I can only describe the decor as vampire chic, red and black motif and dark like walking onto the set of from Dust till Dawn... I ordered the Godfather burger with pepper jack cheese and a side salad with the house dressing, which was a very good vinaigrette. The burger was juicy and charrred to medium expertly, the bun was good and the veggies were fresh and crisp. A good solid burger. There was a waitress, a grill man, and what seems to be the owner in the corner of the bar as back up. It would have been nice if he greeted the customers for a more personal experience. We were visiting friends in the area and suggested this restaurant. Parking is on the streets surrounding the restaurant. There are pictures of the actors from The Godfather. It is a pretty small place inside but there is also a bar to sit at. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and given a booth. Menus were brought over. They have a good selection of beverages and many different kinds of burgers (of course). We ordered the Godfather's Cheese Burger with Blue Cheese and our friends ordered the Fresh California Burger. They come with fries or a salad. Also had a couple of beers. The burgers were cooked perfectly. The size of the burgers was good and was very full at the end. Really enjoyed this place and it is close to 5 stars; the only reason it is not 5 stars is because I felt there wasn't enough sauce on the burgers to taste and too much vinegarette sauce in the house salad... if the sauces could be balanced out a bit more then the food would be 5 stars for sure. So good and a big portion too! For the burger I ordered the Sopranos burger with half salad and fries. It tasted incredible. Cooked perfectly! Only downside was it was a little sloppy as the bun completely fell apart, but other than that everything was perfect. Salad was fresh and the dressing was light and not overpowering. The fries were perfectly fried, hot and just the right amount of salt. The also have this godfather sauce I think it's called, highly recommend. Only street parking but I've never had much of an issue finding a spot. The restaurant overall is pretty small, but I typically haven't had to wait long if I come during prime dinner hours. Every time we have a craving for good quality burger, we always head over to Godfather's Burger Lounge. We have been coming here for years and know what to expect. Burgers are always cooked to perfection. My Soprano had a decent size patty with a nice pinkish center and very juicy. The bun size was just how I like it, and the garnishing was just right. Godfather's burgers do not need ketchup, mustard, or barbecue sauce as they are great by themselves. Aside from burgers, we also had the calamari, beer battered jalapenos, and wedge salad which we enjoyed. I was surprised with the calamari as it was not prepared the way it was served before. Fantastic food- more than just burgers.... There are a dozen burgers with different spices, condiments, cheeses, and sauces, make it the way you want it! I like guacamole, thin sliced onion, cheddar, lettuce.... You can have salad or fries, both choices are fresh and delicious. You'll get your meal quickly and made-to-order. I got myself the Godfather's Burger with medium rare patty and pepperjack cheese and wolfed the whole thing down. Washed it down too, since they have a decent selection of beer. The restaurant has a Godfather movie theme to its decor. The guacamole burger was good. The burger was juicy though I would have preferred a char. The sauce never came with the meal. Burger was very undercooked, not medium rare, it was raw. I can taste that the onion rings were fried in very old oil. You don't realize it's not a huge place from the street. This fact isn't helped by the thematic decor of a dark tin ceiling and black curtains. As first timers, we all went with the Godfather's Cheese Burger, French fries, and order of onion rings. I got a strawberry milkshake. The burger patties were unfortunately overcooked and dry. This is hands down one of my favorite sit down burger places in the Bay Area. Usually, I settle for a fast food burger place like in n out, but I come to Godfathers to get their garlicky truffle fries and one of their burgers. Today, I tried the guacamole burger, which had half pound patty, cheese, guacamole, crispy onions and other toppings. The fries are very crispy and so garlicky that my breath smelled like garlic the entire night. I like this burger because the meat is juicy, and you get a sizable portion.
