Loved this place. It's deep in a beautiful neighborhood but there is plenty of parking. Service is so friendly. The cozy back patio is so relaxing, I could stay for hours. The wine selection is plentiful and they have some beer and non alcoholic options too. Diverse food menu. We had the Haven board and Haven bruschetta. Loved the bruschetta. The board was ok. We had to ask twice because it came out without bread and sauce for the chicken. I definitely will go back. Such a lovely place.

A neighborhood gem with soul, heart, and delicious taste. Tucked right into the charming Willows neighborhood, Haven Wine + Cheese feels like one of those magical spots you stumble upon when you're traveling -- except it's right here at home. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere envelops you -- warm light, friendly faces, and the perfect hum of music and conversation. The two co-owners, both locals, have poured everything into this place -- and you can feel it in every detail. From the thoughtfully curated wine list that hops continents, to the cheese pairings that make you want to high-five the chef (who, by the way, changes up the menu regularly and keeps things exciting), Haven hits every note. It's the kind of spot that works for anything: a cozy date night, a small celebration, a relaxed work get-together -- or just a glass (or three) of something amazing with a friend. The prices are refreshingly reasonable, and their wine club is a must if you love discovering bottles you'd never find elsewhere -- personally handpicked by the owners themselves. What do I love most? You can tell this isn't just a business. It's a love letter to good food, great wine, and the people who gather around it. The whole experience feels personal, beautiful, and intentional. Haven isn't just a place -- it's a vibe. And it's one Menlo Park is lucky to have.

OBSESSED!! Went here for lunch today and will definitely be back many more times. The place is super cute inside with a bar and some tables and then there's a large covered back patio outside. Tons of wines and tinned fish on the wall. Free parking out front. Staff was super nice and friendly. We had a tinned fish board with 2 kinds of fish. Their list is huge and has some really unique varieties. They also have a Spanish vermouth spritz!! I love these but they are so hard to come by. I wish they had more versions here but the one they do have is very good. My boyfriend had never tried it and ended up having 2. We also had the sorbet, which was very refreshing and another unique flavor with wine in it. Other than tinned fish, they had a small brunch menu with a soup, salad, meat/cheese charcuterie, waffles, overnight oats, something with eggs, etc. The other food I saw looked quite good but I think this place is mainly about wine, charcuterie & tinned fish. We were also told wine is 20% off if you pick a bottle off the wall to take home. Their selection looked very nicely curated with some different wines that I haven't seen in a typical wine aisle. Can't wait to go back!

We were able to check out Haven Wine + Cheese during their grand opening, and it was such an amazing way to be introduced to Lea, Sam, and the whole Haven crew! The first thing I noticed was the dream-worthy wine wall which showcases a large selection of bottles, with many being from wineries owned by Women and POC. You can purchase your bottle to enjoy onsite without a corkage fee, or take it home and get a 15% discount (not sure if this was just for their grand opening, but it seemed like this would be a regular thing). There was a nice selection of tinned fish, crackers, and home accents (beautiful wood serving boards, kitchen gadgets, travel bags for wine and snacks, and more), as well as a few local beers, and chilled wine in the fridge. They were still filling out some of their other offerings, but an extensive cheese fridge and additional artisanal snacks are also going to be coming to Haven soon. There were a few wines you could order by the glass, as well as a dinner menu which we will definitely be coming back for-the menu includes light bites/snacks (served all day), charcuterie and cheese boards, soups, salads, small plates, and desserts. I've got my eye on their mac & cheese and riesling sorbet! You can enjoy your wine and snacks at one of the bar seats, one of the smaller tables inside, or on their back patio, under an umbrella or while enjoying some sunshine. The atmosphere was so fun during their grand opening and you can tell that the whole community came out to support this lovely wine bar. Everyone working at Haven was friendly and helpful-you feel the warm, welcoming, family aura as soon as you walk in the door. We're not local to Menlo Park, but we will be making a point to stop by Haven for some wine, food, and good vibes! Congratulations to Lea & Sam on an amazing first day, and we can't wait to come back!

European cafe quality food featuring interesting selections like tinned fish along with gourmet cheese and charcuterie, curated wine and beer options, and friendly personal service on a comfortable and attractive backyard patio made for a lovely, relaxing, and gastronomically satisfying time outdoors on a gorgeous day. If you appreciate good food and wine, come and savor. They've only been open 3 weeks and we'd love to see them continue and go strong. There aren't enough places like this. I'll update this review as they involve. We look forward to returning.

Wow, this is such a great neighborhood wine bar! Came here after grabbing some pizza next door. Had a glass of white wine. Great service, beautiful interior. Next time I'll come back\, try some of the bites, and want to check out the back patio if weather permits.

Haven was such a fun surprise last night! The wine list is obviously amazing, the Haven board was delicious, but the service is what truly sparkled. Iris is an absolute gem, her recommendations were right on point, but it was her sense of humor that was perfection. Pro tip- order the Sauvignon Blanc and watch her face . I would honestly come back just to hang with her. Ambiance couldn't be cuter, awesome place to hang. Can't wait to come back!

I drove from San Jose to meet up with wine drinking friends who wanted to check out Haven on their opening weekend. Lucky for me they carry sour beer!!! All the food we tried was unique, fresh and super tasty and reasonably priced. I didn't know gourmet tin fish was a thing but now it's my thing - bought 5 different ones to take home to try. Very inviting place, beautifully decorated and the back patio was cozy. My friend was so impressed that he spoke with the owners about booking his company's Christmas party . Definitely worth checking out... wish there was one of these in San Jose.

Great spot if you like tin fish and wine. I enjoy the collection of tin fish that Haven serves. They have a great selection of wines that will please any palate. The service is attentive and friendly. Haven is exactly what is needed in the neighborhood.

Such an amazing find! The ambiance is on point. The playlist was perfect. We ordered a bottle of bubbly and the charcuterie board. Exactly what we needed after a long day of virtual meetings. We plan on becoming usuals.

It cost $75 per person to dine here for their afternoon tea which isn't too bad I think. We got there on time with our cute little dresses on, of course. I wanted to do something different for her, so I booked the afternoon tea at the Four Seasons Hotel in East Palo Alto. So this cafe is right by their lobby. Once you enter the hotel, it is to the right, and someone was waiting for us immediately to sit us down, I'm assuming, because of our reservation. Of course, we were seated immediately. One thing I really liked about this location is that it is not crowded, unlike other afternoon tea locations. Our server was Chiqui, who was a nice Filipina lady. She started joking around with us when she heard me and my cousin speak Tagalog, which made our interaction more relaxed. She remained very professional and explained the whole menu to us, including how everything would go. We were given the menu, which had a variety of different tea choices. You also get to smell the tea leaves, which were set up in the middle of the cafe. I really liked this since it gave us the opportunity to choose which one we liked. You get to choose two different teas, and we asked for their recommendation on when to serve the teas. We ordered the jasmine reserve and green tea. For our tea blends, we chose the happy and green pomegranate. All the teas were really good. We enjoyed every bit of it, and the honey, sugar, and hot water, which were easily available, made it really good. The honey was really good instead of the sugar, honestly. The small bites included were very tasty and filling. By the time we got to the scones, my cousin and I were very full and could not finish them. We ended up taking some of the food home because there was a lot of it. I enjoyed the rock lobster and crab roll the most since I love seafood. We did order prosecco (Zardetto to be exact), which was really good and smooth. We also got some spring water, which is why our bill came out to $250. Also, I believe a 20% service charge was automatically added to the bill. All in all, this was an amazing experience. Chiqui was an amazing server who had amazing training, given how her service was impeccable. Shout out to her for making this experience an amazing one. I would definitely return here. It is very relaxing, not stressful, and not overcrowded. The only thing I would say is I wish my cousin had been given a nice birthday cupcake or something to that effect. I did mention on both our reservation and when we checked in that it was her birthday, but other than that, this experience was amazing, and I would definitely come back to do this again.

We were seated in the bar area at some tables. The bar is impressive. It's filled to the ceiling with different bottles. We felt like we had to try a cocktail to start. Our bartender was great and even went off menu for some of our drinks. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Once we were seated we got some appetizers to get us started. We ordered chickpea panisse, French onion soup, goat cheese mousse, and the apple salad. Everything was delicious. My favorite was the chickpea panisse. It looked like fried tofu, but it was so delicately soft in the center. The aioli that came with it was great too. My second favorite was the goat cheese mousse. It was beautifully presented and a good balance of flavors. For main dishes, we got a variety of things. We got salmon, hanger steak, flat iron steak, and poulet roti. Everything was delicious. I think the flat iron steak was preferred over the hanger, but both were good. I thought the chicken was delicious. It seemed braised with a lot of flavor. It was a generous portion with a large salad. It was very well done. We also got a couple of sides of macaroni and cheese. Those didn't disappoint. They came in hot iron skillets and were hearty and delicious. For dessert we got the mousse au chocolat. The mousse with ice cream was a great combination. The dessert was well balanced. Parker house rolls were fresh and tasty, although not spectacular. The wildflower butter tasted about the same as regular butter. 2. French onion soup was very pleasant, highly recommended. It had a strong taste of (1) something resembling wine must and (2) a meat stock, although I wasn't entirely sure. 3. Roasted chicken was good, maybe not as good as at Sekoya in terms of juiciness, but not dry either, especially with the jug of juice. The chicory salad served alongside it was delightful, however, and one of my favourite parts of the meal. 4. The duck was somewhat small and drier than the usual Chinese style. I did like the demi glace sauce and the rutabaga garnish. 5. The 12oz dry aged rib eye was tasty, with a beautiful crust, but the interior again was a little drier than I would hope for medium rare. Again, the bordelaise sauce was very good. We all loved the aioli that was served alongside the French fries. 6. The side of cooked beans was the main disappointment. The beans themselves didn't taste of much, and the dish as a whole was only rescued by the generous serving of marcona almonds. 7. The grits were decently good. Overall, the meal was an enjoyable dining experience and I would recommend Zola, especially as this style of cooking is becoming less common and squeezed out by restaurants serving more aggressively-flavoured dishes.
