Quick pit stop with my ladies.

The Blue Moose Tavern was great! In such a cute little town, where everyone including the staff was welcoming. The atmosphere is cozy, with a stage for live music and lots of great seating. Our food was incredibly cheap, and delicious too - your standard yummy bar food. We want to come back in the evening for drinks next time!

I would recommend doing the mount dewy loop and then stopping here for pizza and a beer because it makes for a perfect day. There is an inside and outdoor patio, both with amazing ambiance. I had an amber ale with veggie pizza and not only was it delicious, but such a great deal too! My server/bartender was very cool and great about checking in with me throughout my experience. This tavern definitely has a dive bar feel, which I love. It seems like a local spot!

We stopped here on the way to the ice castles in cripple creek! What a great bar with the best options! The food was great and service was wonderful. The waitress was able to handle so many people at once and it was a cozy place!

Friendly service, good food, great beers, and a clean restroom. What more do you want? Big screen tv? Got it! Patio dining? Got it! Go check them out!!!

Stopped in after our drive through Pikes national forest. Old town ambience and stripped down menu. Had The wings and Slope pizza. Wings are fabulous and the thin crust pizza was enough for 4. A mix of diners and day drinkers. You can do either. May post pics later. Good service too.

A hidden gem of a dive bar/restaurant. Martie was such a sweetheart and holding it down on a busy Sunday. The curds and truffle fries were so good! We will be back.

Lucky to have found this in the middle of nowhere. Super cool inside, and food was pretty cheap as well!

We were on the hunt for a cold beverage and a nice place to sit, and this is honestly the only place in town that we found that satisfied our criteria. We walked in and it was a little bit confusing that you were handed a menu, but had to go claim a table and figure out what number table it was, and then come back inside to order, it felt very disjointed. We noticed that it was happy hour, so chose two beverages that were listed, and they were out of one of them. My brother ordered a tap beer, and they never brought it out, we waited quite a while and then he went back inside and got it. It was a little bit confusing, since they had been so adamant to go figure out what table we wanted, and then they never brought out what we ordered. We probably would have ordered several drinks but since it took so long we decided to move on. The (I think) owner was outside, tending to the patio, and enjoying the music. It was a little overbearing, but I think he was just passionate, giving gifts to the children and being hospitable. The best part was the very good live music, and the large water they brought to our table. I also enjoyed the people watching since it's right on the street.

My wife and I have been coming here for years. However today was the first time we decided to come during the summer. It's just too busy with tourists in the summer. The seating is all outside which I didn't think would be good. We like to come during the offseason when there are less tourists. All the seats are indoors and quite cramped but cozy. So today we decided to see if there was a wait. Yes there was but only about 20 minutes. Turns out the outdoor seating is great, almost like one of those rainforest restaurants except this is all natural. The food was great as always. The staff was comprised of the normal folks who are here in the winter plus a few people that I have never seen before. They all busted their butts to make sure it was a good experience. Keep in mind this is a very small town with limited resources. I'm extremely impressed with the level of service we received. To top it all off there was a guy there with his guitar named Phil Volan. Phil added another level of ambiance that I didn't expect. If you are planning on a visit be prepared for a wait but you should have a memorable time.

This visit brought me in for Mother's day brunch and it's evident that the establishment is under some major construction but this didn't deter from our feast. It seems the hotel could use some repairs and touch ups and so it's good to see that is underway. The buffet provided a wide variety of options from omelette station, breakfast items, seafood options, prime rib carving station, loads of sides, salad bar and more. My favorites were the au gratin potatoes, Brussel sprouts, and Mac & cheese. The dessert options were very limited as most items had run out and weren't refilled, but I was too full to care. Service seemed a little curt, but was sufficient. I don't think I would ever make a true judgement of a dining establishment based on a buffet experience so I'll have to go back for a regular service to truly explore what the Cliffhouse has to offer these days. Hopefully it is full of excellence as it once was. I'll be back.....

After visiting the town we stopped back to check and the veranda was not that busy and there were empty tables. After checking with the hostess again we were seated at a table. The handmade cocktails looked delicious so we each tried one (yum). The salads were prepared beautifully and were very tasty. The entrees were not too big and the appetizers were too small to be shared. If you are ravenous maybe this would not be ample but it was perfect for us on this evening. The wine list is small but good as well and the service was excellent.

If you're sitting at the bar you can see the window where your food comes up -- our salad and fries both sat there about ten minutes before anyone brought them the ten feet over to us. Not a huge deal, but it's a little cruddy sitting there thinking "I'm pretty sure that's ours" and waiting. The ambiance is very dark, with a lot of stairs up and down -- you head into sort of a basement-type area. Everything I saw was clean and nice. It's a cool, funky spot to take a date or hit for happy hour, so the vibe and ambiance are definitely spot on for that. Signature cocktails -- all fine. Not the best thing ever, but solid. I'd have them again. Side salad -- good. The ranch is made in house and very flavorful, and the salad was actually loaded with veggies. French fries with garlic aioli -- a bit of a letdown. We didn't even finish them. They came out okay, just a little dry, and the aioli itself wasn't very good -- we didn't really like it. Pro tip: The entrées looked pricey, which is why we stuck to snacking at the bar -- and after the fries came out, we were fine calling it there and eating elsewhere. Overall, would recommend for happy hour, and would return.
