Very unique and awesome experience from start to finish! We are big foodies and always appreciate unique restaurants when we visit other cities, but Memphis doesn't always seem to appreciate unique culinary flavors and experiences. That's why I didn't put too much weight into some of the unfortunate previous negative reviews. I got a smoky Old Fashioned, and it was perfect. We ordered the burger, ribeye, bone marrow tacos, and salmon, and everything was cooked perfectly with presentation that was on point. All desserts are made by their own pastry chef and were delicious. Truly flavors you won't find anywhere else in town. We will definitely be back!! Memphis needs to support places like this if we want to keep unique, high-quality restaurants in our city. Really good experience here Sunday. Our bookclub dined in for this month's book meet up. Reservation was easy to secure. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated. It was fairly empty at the time which allowed me to really take in the decor. I love the design. The space is pretty open and didnt feel congested. The brunch menu is pretty straight forward. Fuego Vivo is the place you want to be at. From the aesthetic to the food to the service. I was able to get a quick reservation and it wasn't too crowded when I got there. It is a huge restaurant, multiple sitting areas. My waiter Christian was amazing, he answered any questions I had. He explained each menu item and told me what was the customers favorite. I ordered the crispy cream corn tempura for starters, it tasted like friend okra and chicken. Well seasoned, the shredded cheese gave it an extra kick of flavor. For my entree, I ordered the salmon and it was cooked to perfection, seasoned well and a crispy. I enjoyed every bite. read more

Came here as a last minute decision for our anniversary and had a decent time. There was no wait for a table so got seated immediately. My husband got an Old Fashioned and I got a Whiskey Sour (our go to drinks when we can't decide on cocktails). For food he got the "table side" Chicken Alfredo. It was good but there was nothing table side about it like I've experienced on the west coast so don't get your hopes up on that. It was still a good meal though. I got the wagyu filet with bacon Mac and cheese. The filet was wonderful but the Mac and cheese was dry and wayyyy too much bacon. Didn't try any desserts so will have to come back but overall it was a good experience. I love the ambiance. It reminds me of west coast restaurants and bars. Took wife and son for their birthdays. We had reservations, arrived early and were seated immediately. Scott was our server and he was excellent. Knowledgeable, attentive and very friendly. Cocktails were great. Had the empanadas and they were wonderful, especially the chicken empanada. Wife had canneloni, son had a steak and I had the chicken. All were very tasty and plentiful. No negative issues at all about our visit and will probably return for Father's Day. Really a wonderful place, beautiful property inside and out, and a great experience. read more

My experience was different compared to what I read before going. I believe other guests dined in right after their opening and experienced a less favorable experience. Our experience was amazing we dined in on a Sunday afternoon, there is plenty of seating options. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very open space between you and other tables. Our server was very attentive and patient with us through the entire dining process. The food was also fresh and flavorful. The only complaint was my sister said her salmon was a little salty other than that everyone enjoyed their meal. It's a great addition to the Memphis area. read more

Went for Easter Brunch. The decor is beautiful and the ambiance is top tier. Our server, AJ, was fabulous!!! We ordered chicken and waffles, breakfast tacos and the breakfast sampler. All of it was exceptional. Let me focus on the chicken & waffles thought. The chicken was so crispy and so was the waffle. It was served with a hot honey sauce that was fabulous. All of the portions were very generous. We also were served some delicious rolls when we sat down. This will definitely be in my rotation for brunch. The restaurant is beautiful, but when I went in March there were still things undone like doors for private seating areas and the stands for table side dishes that made me question if the opening was premature. I ordered the rotisserie chicken which is obviously smoked and it was very dry and no where near as juicy or flavorful as it was advertised. The corn appetizer is a unique dish a tad greasy. My cocktail was good and fruity. Most food was described as okay by the rest of our party, clearly we all had super high expectations. My friend brought in a cake for her birthday and was charged $35 to self serve and eat it inside, she was told she could take photos with it at no charge, none of this information was given to her when she reserved a table for 10 people, our server wasn't aware either and had to verify, which is unacceptable and unfortunate. I don't plan to return, the experience wasn't worth my money. read more

I had the calamari, ribeye and bone marrow tacos, crispy layered potatoes and dirty martini. For starters, baby squid was used for the calamari. The best thing about the tacos was the fresh avocado. The ribeye and bone marrow was good but could have used a pinch of salt. The tacos were drenched in oil. I had to just eat the meat out of the last one. The potatoes were good and crispy. The drink was just meh. Overall, I'm willing to give them another try for the grilled octopus. We shall see? read more

The restaurant is undeniably beautiful, but the food and drinks were a major letdown. I'm honestly surprised at how bad an Old Fashioned could be -- it was watery and topped with a cheap cherry. We tried the Carnivore experience, assuming that as two women we'd have plenty of leftovers. Instead, we both left hungry. The steak was served cold, and the portion felt very small for what's supposed to be a signature experience. I will give 3 stars for effort. First, let me say; the decor and vibes here are magnificent! It was very cozy and gave me a very welcoming vibe when my husband and I first walked in. The drinks were fabulous as well. Now let's get down to why I'm only giving 3 stars. We got the campero experience for our apps, the presentation was set up and prepared really nicely. However, there was no flavor. Moving on to our entrees, my husband and I shared the carnivore experience. Again, presentation was nice however, we asked for our steaks to be medium rare. They came out in these charcoal grills and while it was being bought to the table, the steaks are still actively being cooked. By the time we finished one steak and moved on to the next, the steaks were fully cooked to almost well done. And not to mention, the experience was supposed to come with truffles sauce and our choice of sides. We didn't get neither. Overall, this is why I'm giving 3 stars and giving them grace because I came on opening night. I'm willing to go back in a few months and give them another try! read more

I'm a fan of Tekila, so I had high hopes going in. The ambiance and host staff were great, but from there things took a downhill turn. The service seemed a bit rushed, but otherwise ok. What was unusual though for a restaurant at this price point was the obvious corners that were being cut. I understand the elevated cost of goods currently, but this was too obvious and torpedoed the experience. To begin with the drinks were problematic at best. There was no garnish in one drink, and cheap Kroger cherries in an old fashioned that were a distraction. The excessive watery ice made that old fashioned a diluted pale mess. Moving on to the food, we had a steak and the lamb. In a nutshell, they were both very substandard at best. The steak was a good piece of meat, but was undercooked and served without a steak knife. The lamb is not really a chop, but an extremely small and thin (think Ritz cracker size) piece of meat that is buried in breading. There was so much breading in fact that the tiny piece of lamb gets lost in every sense. The sides were small and bland. I want to see this place succeed, and perhaps the best was to do that is to not cut corners and follow what has worked for Tekila. read more

Upon entering, I was quite amazed at the transformation from the prior restaurant. The ambience is quite good. The bar located in the center of restaurant is big and the service was great at the bar. They were there to make sure that our experience was good and we enjoyed the empanadas well that was the end of our enjoyment. We then went to the table where the service was horrendous and our server didn't check back with us hard at all. The meal that I received was a lamb dish and I'm Greek so I looked at that piece of meat and I looked it covered in cheese and couldn't understand or recognize what it really was and it didn't even taste like lamb when I finally got into it, but then there was some type of sad dish that was supposed to be a fried potato of some kind. I couldn't even begin to taste it it was tasted. It was terrible and overall experience of the food was a disappointment at best and Service. Can next came my wife's order who ordered a half of chicken we both thought we would split some of the lamb and I get some of the chicken but when I saw that bird, it was very small. I'd never seen anything like it to be a chicken and it was underneath a lot of lettuce and it was in a bowl and I couldn't believe what I was looking at. I said that was your half chicken. I said oh my God then the taste of that chicken it had seasonings that were not known to any of us and it actually made my wife not well once you went home and then as far as my cousin goes, he went with us that night visiting from out of town and he had tacos that were of beef in nature they said, but when you tasted the beef, it was extremely dry. The overall experience was really bad. The service was horrible. We waited 30 minutes to get our bill after they brought it after we were finished the meal and they should never check back on us. 4-3-26 We were there for dinner around 6pm. Upon going to front, the hostess told us that we had to have reservation only. No walk in, they were not busy. We were turned down flat for no reason. Just looking at there website and customers reviews. There is no indication that said reservation only on their website. Zero! Pretty much a lie on what was said to us. They are pretty prejudice on who they want to serve. I highly do not recommend this place. They need to shut down for good. read more

Four things: 1. Very loud with a constant club beat in the music that it made it hard to have conversation. 2. Tables were very wide, so to had to shout to your friends across the table to talk. 3. Most important for Celiac people or gluten Intolerant people. When asked what was gluten free the waiter really didn't know and did not offer to ask the kitchen. I asked about the chicken. He believed it was gluten free and said the spices on top should be okay. For gluten info for those who do not have the celiac or allergy, meats can be marinated in things that have gluten and many spices are cut with flour to add bulk or are cross contaminated in the factory. For desert I ordered was the chocolate cigar which the waiter said was gluten free. He serves it to me and then said just don't eat the ends where it is crunchy. So he should not have even given that to me. I cut off the ends and gave to my friend, but to my surprise, there was sponge cake in the middle. They know nothing about food allergies so don't go there if you have one. 4. My chicken entree and my friend's short ribs entree were both undercooked and extremely fatty and oily. He came home and was sick for two day from his meal and I had Celiac issues. I would not recommend this place. read more

My family had a reservation for a table of 8. After making them wait for over 30 minutes to sit down. They took them to 2 four tops. My mother asked where the table of 8 was, they said it was reserved for someone with a reservation. As if our group didn't ALSO have a reservation for an EARLIER time. They told her it was a fire hazard for an 8 top. The manager came out and started explaining to my uncle. My mother asked a question & he said "Excuse me ma'am! I'm explaining to the GENTLEMAN!" When my mother made the reservation and my uncle had nothing to do with it in the first place. Dismissing a woman in favor of a man is rude. She then grazed his arm by accident & he yelled out "Do not touch me! Back up and do not touch me!" As if my 5 foot nothing size zero mother is a threat. They refused to accommodate my family and treated my mother like dirt. They left & went somewhere else. Do not support this establishment. They'll treat you like a dog. read more

We went for reservations at 6 pm on Tuesday and ordered dirty martinis. They had absolutely no olive juice in the entire restaurant and only a few tiny olives left in the last jar of olives with no juice. It was early in the evening and no one thought to run to Kroger for olives with a full bar. Also, they made and served the drinks, which were ordered as dirty martinis, without adding any olive juice and without coming to tell us there was none to add, first, in case we wanted to order another drink. No one comped the drinks and said they'd take them back. No manager came over. The poor server even checked the kitchen and brought us mashed up olives to try to get some juice out. The food was mediocre, small servings, and overpriced for the size and quality. The graham cracker was strange as a side to carpaccio. Don't think I'll go back. I visited this place for my 16th birthday 2/4/26!! IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!! The server Myiesha was AMAZINGGGGG we loved her so much she took such good care of us, we could tell she was working very hard to make everything right due to the circumstances!! My reservation was for 7:15 we were seated promptly we placed our orders at the same time. We received our food one hour and thirty minutes later all of our food was rock COLD. My cousin ordered the shrimp pasta there was MULTIPLE PIECES OF PLASTIC in her food. The manager came to the table and wasn't very unapologetic!! This was my sweet 16 birthday and I received my food last after EVERYONE was done eating and it was cold!! My aunts were going to come back for the Sunday brunch but the stated they will NEVER be back!!
