I was so excited to come here for karaoke with my friends. The BLVD is the only place that I know of with karaoke rooms. Otherwise, I usually find myself traveling going out of town to sing with my friends. This was my first time renting a room at the BLVD, but it was not the best experience. The Singa system that they use has a decent catalog of songs to choose from, but the ones that we were hoping for wasn't available. Additionally, the system lags when trying to queue a song. It messes up the tempo and the display of the lyrics for a song that's currently being played. The speakers sounded awful, so we had to take time out of our hour to have that checked out. The worker who fixed the speakers encouraged us to speak with the front desk, so we could get some time back for the maintenance. We were assured that we would get some time added, but that did not happen. We even double checked with the front before the original time expired. Afterwards, we waited for a while to see if it could still be resolved. My friend ended up speaking with the manager who explained to us that there were some technical issues on their end when they tried to add some time. I appreciate that the manager was transparent and asked us how she can improve our experience. While we could not be refunded, we received a gift card equal to the amount that we paid for our karaoke session. I'm hoping to come back to the BLVD for a better karaoke experience next time. read more

We recently visited during a company team building and even though I'm not a very good bowler, it was pretty fun. The last time I visited The BLVD was a few years ago and not a lot has changed since I last visited. I do have to say that this is a great place to hangout at for family or friends and even for a team building. I love video games, so arcades are definitely a must when I visit places that have arcades. I think the arcades are a bit outdated and they need better games. I don't think they are horrible, but I would love to see a better variety for all ages. I think bowling is a super fun idea and I would love to come back just for that to up my bowling skills. They have a good amount of lanes, so you can guarantee you'll be able to play. Food was good. They have a good variety of options even for vegans/vegetarians which is great because I know a lot of people that have food restrictions, but they also have a good variety for the others that don't have those restrictions. The place is nice and neat. My only complaint is the token system. You won't use 100% of the tokens you buy because the games are charged at different prices and I think they do that on purpose so we can keep refilling those game cards, other than that this is a great place if you're looking for something to do. read more

I booked this place for my son's 10th bday. The booking process was easy. Shannon and Shayla were very responsive and answered my questions quickly. It made the whole preparation very easy. Carlos was really nice and helpful! The setup that he prepared was really nice. He was always available when we need help. I think just the bowling hours were alil short because everybody were having a great time. Maybe extra 30 min included in the package would be great so we have extra time to chat with the visitors more but nonetheless, we had a great time! We would be booking here again. read more

Decided to treat the kiddos for some food and fun. It was still earlier in the day so there weren't very many people. To start we stopped for a quick bite in the restaurant. I opted for the Italian with a side of tots. This is a solid sandwich and was put together really well. Quality bread with great flavor and perfect level of spice. The tots were equally delicious. We shared a fried onion bloom which we all enjoyed , very tasty. The waitress was nice enough, but even though it was early and there were no other diners she still acted as if there's somewhere else she'd rather be. Overall we all enjoyed lunch. The whole family had so much fun in the arcade. I also really liked how there was a nice variation of different arcade games and machines. The kids also had so much fun on the rope course. Unfortunately I didn't get the employee's name, but I would also like to give a special thank you and honorable mention to one certain young man. It was so sweet that one young man (noticing that my daughter was clearly a bit nervous about being on the ropes) was actually encouraging her and motivating her by shouting "you can do it!". Had a great experience at the BLVD on Buck Owens in Bakersfield, CA. Took my daughter to play some games and she had a great time. When she went to redeem her tickets for prizes, one of the employees named Adi was very nice and helped my daughter with all the questions she had about the prizes she could get. Came here with friends on a Saturday night for bowling and drinks. Bowling was fine and it's a fun atmosphere with more going on than a typical bowling alley. However the service was extra slow with our lane being dirty and having to ask for someone to clean it up before we started and then it taking a long time to get drinks at the bar. I've been to this location a couple of times now. I didn't have the best experience when it first opened, but I decided to give it another chance and came back for the bowling--and it's always been a hit. The seating is comfortable, the lanes and equipment are in good shape, and everything feels well maintained. The beer has always been good too, with nothing to complain about there. I haven't tried the food yet and haven't checked out the arcade since it opened, so I can't speak much on those, but if they're kept up as well as the bowling area, I imagine they're solid. Our first visit and we had a great experience! The hostess, Sam was really helpful! I asked her what she liked, she recommended the wontons, they were great! $11 for 5 of them. Then when our server had a lot of tables Sam took our drink order. My daughter and I split the steak sandwich, grilled onions on the side because she didn't want them. So mine had extra onions and it was delicious! Other kid had a kids pizza and she liked it, it looked very good! Husband had asada fries, but subbed tots, he liked them. Today I had a group of friends join us for bowling, food and great association! Shawna was very kind. Told me they were short in staff but they would take care of us. I asked her if we could move chairs into our section if they're not being used and she said yes. She accommodated the needs of my group and I truly appreciated. David our waiter took our orders, brought us our drinks and took care of my group. We were over 40 friends. I requested for only him to wait on my group because he was doing a great job and I communicated well with him. We all did our best to work with him and he in turn took care of us I also appreciated De'Antay for coming by to make sure everyone was okay, needed drinks or refills. Where to even begin? This was our first experience at The Blvd. To start off parking was, difficult even though inside it didn't seem overly busy. We came to celebrate a birthday with a group who had already booked 3 lanes for bowling. We paid separately for our shoes and were told to wait on the side for our shoes. There were baskets of shoes and no attendant to guide us so we assumed the baskets were shoes that we just paid for but about 5 minutes later in the chaos of the front area were told those baskets are dirty shoes and to go wait at the lanes. When we got to the lanes there were baskets of shoes there but no one told us they would be so that was confusing but all was well. We began our games, though the selection of balls is small. They're all the same color and size - with only about 3/4 variations I saw. We had a wide age range playing so it was difficult to find balls for the smallest players. Now ordering food was chaos. Absolutely chaos. No server came over until about 20 minutes into the first games. When they did we told them we were paying separately from the group and they started a "tab" even though I only planned on ordering once they took my card and came back and handed it to me. It took quite a while for the food to come out but once it did everything we got was very good. The Haggard Burger was exceptional with the bbq sauce that they had. However, it took a long LONG time to get a side of bbq sauce since it was kind of scarce on the burger how they made it. I mean a long time like- I told my husband to just start eating or it would be cold and soggy. He was 2/3 of the way done by the time they brought the sauce. My eggrolls were delicious beside, and quite a good dupe for the Chili's Southwestern Eggrolls. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her soup and bread bowl but we were NOT told the bread bowl was $5 on top of an $8 soup. That's kinda wild. We were also not told when we finally got my tab that they just decided to add an $11.18 tip to the tab even though they switched our server out halfway through and we rarely saw them. I don't appreciate sly additions without forwarning. Especially since I wasn't the person who booked the group. Thankfully it was removed. Upon leaving after using the restroom we were just about to the lobby / front register area and we saw a cockroach. Now that I'm here I see I'm not the first Yelper to see these kinds of things and to be honest that's disgusting considering I paid $66 for 3 items of food & 2 drinks. So overall- would I come here again? Mmmm I don't know. The food is good. The bowling was fun. The atmosphere was LOUD. The service was - slow and poor.... But I may give them another chance in the future when it isn't so busy, but it's a steep cost in these times and I didn't even book the lanes! Woof!! Simply put, I believe The BLVD is Bakersfield's version of LA's Lucky Strike. With food and drink variances, the concept is practically the same. One can opt into certain packages that includes bowling, food and access to a private lounge. We celebrated my kid's 16th birthday party and I decided on the Extreme Adulteen package for $290 (not including taxes, service charge, and any other add-ons). This package does include: 1.5 hours of bowling, choice of one food option (went with chicken sliders), unlimited side (fries), unlimited sodas (up to 3 kinds), a party host, and a $15 game card for 10 guests. I thought it was a good price point for the service and the food quality we received that day. The party host we got was Mo. She was excellent! Courteous and diligent, she set-up the area in advance, got food out nicely and all the shoes for the bowlers. She also was on hand pretty much the entire duration of the party for any additional requests, like alcoholic drinks (not included in the package). Without even a second thought, she even offered to put up a screen to shield the other side from our view to make the event space even more private. Mackenzie was the event assistant who helped me with all my questions about the packages, add-ons, and contract leading up to the event. She was excellent as well. The only reason I'm giving the BLVD a 4rating is because of the rude, young guy at the cashier desk (curly hair with glasses). Upon checking in, which we did well in advance of the start time, he got pissy with me because he was looking at an old list for the parties booked. He dared to argue and insist that my name was not on the list even though I showed my contract copy on my phone. Without even reading it, he was not helpful at all. The event manager finally came out of the office. She literally had to tell him that the list he was looking at was not even the right date. Dude definitely needs a lot more coaching or better yet, he needs to be in an area where he's not dealing with customers because he doesn't know the first thing about CS. A very stark contrast from the service I received from both party host and event coordinator/asst. read more

I brought my Seniors here for a final Field Day. The BLVD met our expectations and more. Our server Eric was awesome and attentive, even making accommodations for one of our diabetic students. The seniors got to bowl, play games, play laser tag as a group, and have a really great day. I plan to recommend this Field Day idea to future senior classes. They were all extremely helpful during the event right from set up to clean up.  I was able to drop off table decorations prior to the event for The BLVD to assist in setting up for me. This was our first time coming here. Our daughter's elementary school reserved The BLVD for their end of the year 6th grade party. We tagged along with our daughter. The kids were able to bowl and have unlimited play time at the arcade and play laser tag and the rope course. The BLVD served them lunch in a banquet room. Some kids had to sit outside of the banquet room though because there was not enough chairs. My husband and I purchased our own lunch. There seemed to be only one waiter attending the tables. I don't know if that was because the other waiters were attending to the children but props to him. He did a great job and he still was patient and kind to us. Food was delicious especially my chicken sandwhich! My husband thought it was a bit pricey, he even said gratuity is added on the bill which he dislikes. I thought it was reasonable. Been here a couple times. Only tried the food once though, the asada fries which were honestly really good. Never been to the bar area so can't really comment on that. They have a couple of arcade games which are kind of standard kid of like a Chuck E. Cheese. They do offer laser tag and bowling as well. Tried the laser tag a couple of times and honestly really fun, you do have to wait a while time a staff member opens it up though. The staff is friendly and our waitress was really nice. It was funny trying to find a penny but it created a good conversation why people find pennies worthless. We cleared the room and went to go play lazer tag. We are extremely frustrated and disappointed with my experience at **The Blvd**. What should have been a fun night turned into a complete waste of time because of their broken AI bowling lane reservation system and terrible customer service. We waited **over an hour** just to bowl. When we finally received a **text saying our lane was ready**, we did exactly what we were told and got in line. To be sure, we spoke with **three different employees**, and every single one of them told us to *stay in line and wait*. After all that waiting and following instructions, we were then told that **our lane had been given away** and that we'd need to wait **another 30 minutes**. That was beyond frustrating. No apology, no accountability--just "wait longer." It felt disrespectful and careless, like our time didn't matter at all. The system failed, the staff didn't communicate, and we were the ones who paid for it. This was supposed to be a fun outing, but instead it was stressful, annoying, and disappointing. **Bad experience. Bad customer service.** I will seriously think twice before coming back. read more

We took the kids to yet another birthday party here. (Sheesh this place is popular for kids parties). We come here often and I had about 13 cards with various amounts of tickets/credits on them. We hadn't been here since probably before Covid hit so a few things have changed. I like that they have actual games and not so many ticket games. You know the ones that just get you tickets but have absolutely no skill or anything involved. The kids had a blast playing everything from laser tag, to bowling and redeemed most of their points for a Hello Kitty snow globe. The hubby and I indulged in some drinks. The BLVD is such a fun place to hangout with family, friends, and significant others. It's a massive entertainment spot where you can bowl, play pool, do arcade games, etc! They even have a full sized restaurant and bar! I always have a blast whenever I come here. I went bowling with my brother and for an hour it was $30 (for a weekday bowling from open to 5 pm). We also had to pay an extra $5 each for the bowling shoe rentals and another $5 each for socks (ridiculous pricing but also we were dumb to forget socks). Nonetheless, it was a really fun experience! Went to The Blvd for the first time and had a great time and enjoyed the food. The staff is friendly and always checks that you have drinks and whatever you want. We ordered the 6-piece bone-in wings with chili-lime sauce, the Haggard Burger, the taco salad, and the Sunrise Burger. All the food was delicious.
