They did a great job cleaning but billing became an issue. We had agreed to 2 maids for $95/hr + tax for my move-in cleaning ~ 3.5-4.5 hrs of work @ $332.50 + tax. Then 3 maids came to complete the service. For 3 maids, the rate is $142.50/hr + tax ~ 2.75 hrs @ $391.88. I was charged less in the end, which I really appreciated ~ 3.5hr $332.50+tax. Recently, my girlfriend and I bought our first house. In doing so, we obviously had a lot on our plate, and the last thing that we wanted to deal with was having to go through and deep-clean our apartment that we'd been living in for two years. That's where Boardwalk Cleaning Co. came in. From the outset, I couldn't believe how easy and effective their service was to use. After setting up my appointment (which was during my working hours), I left a key under the door mat, and went about my day. To give a little background, I have a fairly old English Bulldog, who tends to leave a lot of slobber all over the place. Every time he shakes his fat head, I wind up with bits of spit on the wall. This presented a bit of a unique challenge in that the walls in this apartment were matte or flat or something, so they're incredibly difficult to clean without damaging the walls (I'd done it in a spot or two already... whoops...). To my delight, the slobber stains (is that what you'd call that?) were one of the first things I noticed were missing when I returned to my spotless apartment. Additionally, the couch that I'd not yet removed from the unit had been moved forward, and all of the junk that'd fallen under it over two years had been cleaned up. In all, they did an incredibly thorough job cleaning the place up, and making sure that I wasn't charged when I turned in my keys. It took a massive load off of me during a very stressful time, and I'm very grateful for that. I used The Boardwalk Cleaning services for move-in on a 250 square ft studio with very small kitchen, restroom, and closet. There was no furniture in studio. I figured it would take approx. 1 hours for 2 people to clean since it was such a small place. They advised me that it was a higher charge if it took over 1 hour (which it did). When I went back to the studio after cleaning, it look just okay. As I looked closer, some of the kitchen cabinets had not been cleaned. The floor between the stove and the cabinets was still filthy. There was grease stains behind the stove (they did tell me they could not clean wall due to paint, but you would think they would at least clean the grease from behind the stove?) The shower looked a little dirty so I went back and cleaned it with shower cleaner and a white towel and the towel kept turning brown after a few wipes, the bucket of water was dark after I finished cleaning it. Cleaning was poor for the money they charged. You would think 2 people and 1.5 hours would have been more than enough time to deep clean my tiny studio. Not worth $163 dollars :( read more

Don't go with this company!! They are not very good at all and they are very unprofessional. I have tried out a couple maid services and these guys were the worst! The ONLY reason why they have so many good reviews is because they give you discounts for them.....basically buying reviews. I learned that after they placed a card about this after every service. At first I thought how nice and then later I realized why. The first cleaning was good, but it went downhill after that. It took them three time to come out to fix their mistakes....like clearly not mopping my bathroom, wiping down the granite countertops in the kitchen and bathrooms (sticky stuck was left on it), and not cleaning the glass to an electric fireplace in my bedroom. If you want to come home to a place that is Spick and Span don't use them or you. So far the best maids I have found are Maid and Moore. I am going to try out another one to see if they can top them. If not, then I'll go back to them. I don't understand why it's so hard to fine a great maid service. It's like people don't care anymore. I would not recommend them. read more

We've been using Boardwalk for almost two years, first in our starter home and now in our new, bigger house in Pflugerville. At first, the level of service was amazing. They cleaned things I didn't realize could be cleaned and the house always looked amazing when I would come home. Recently, however, they've started slipping. We had them do a deep-clean a few months ago, which included the baseboards and cabinets, and they still managed to miss dusting the window sills and removing cobwebs in the light above the dining table, among a bunch of other small things. I called the office and was able to get some money refunded (and Juan in the office is always amazing and will accommodate in any way he can) but I would rather have had the house clean. The most recent visit was the there were hairs left on the bathroom floor and they still missed the same spots in the windows and the dining room (even after I specifically mentioned them from the last visit). It didn't even look like they'd wiped down the kitchen counters or vacuumed the master closet. Our house is not especially large or complicated (1960 sq feet, 3 beds, 2 baths) so I feel like cobwebs on the light fixture should be a no-brainer. Like another reviewer said, sometimes they would be totally amazing. More recently they've missed fairly obvious things and the quality just seems to be slipping. They recently increased their prices (which I don't begrudge, since everyone deserves to make a working wage, if that's what they actually used it for like they claimed), but for the price we pay I expect not to have to clean up after they've cleaned. So unfortunately, we're on the hunt for a new service. read more

We were clients of Boardwalk Cleaning for a year and a half or so. At first, the level of cleanliness was amazing! It was easy to schedule cleanings, and I'd come home on a cleaning day to a beautiful, sparkling home. It was totally worth the $107 we paid for our 1,500s sq foot home. Over time, the consistency left something to be desired. Yes, there were still the absolutely amazing days. There were also the, "I thought the maids were supposed to come today" days. Occasional cobwebs in corners aren't big deals, and we're pretty reasonable people. But one day we noticed that the maids had completely overlooked the kitchen cupboards. That's pretty much house cleaning 101, so we decided to cancel our service. Like most things, YMMV. Our search for a consistent cleaning service continues. read more

I found them when I was selling another house and needed a move out clean. A company, not worthy of even mentioning, came to clean without brooms! Then tried to charge me an extra 2 hours because they "had to pick up all things from the floor by hand". I was referred to boardwalk, who came out and finished the awful job the first company did. The house we bought had maids who had come out that the seller hired... we asked Boardwalk to come out and clean because again, another company just didnt seem to have done that well. Boardwalk came out and did an awesome job. So after these experiences, for the first time ever in my life, I decided to set up monthly cleanings and I could not be happier! I wish I could afford to have them out more than once a month. It makes my heart SOOO happy when I came home after they have been there. I have to wonder, given all the glowing reviews, if this place is under new management. I'm new to Austin and I have an infant. This means I have little reference for which cleaning companies are reputable, and little time to research/call around. So when the house started to look like a furball and a dust bunny mated, I turned to my good friend Yelp to help me out. A week and a half ago, I filled out Boardwalk's online form and got an email a couple of days later from Facundo, telling me he could schedule me for this week. I called the number in his signature and spoke to Kyra, who scheduled me for this afternoon for a basic cleaning. She said I'd get a phone call 30 minutes prior to the team arriving. So when no one had called or shown up by 3pm today, I called the main line. Apparently I'm not on the calendar at all! He also stated the maids were there for 3 hours, which we paid for, but in reality it was 40 minutes shy. Rude. Not helpful. Dirty floors. We will never use them again. I hope you don't either. UPDATE: We did use them again. The house looked spectacular. We always clean for the maid, but I was thoroughly impressed with the performance of Brenda and her team this go round. Update: a few days after Boardwalk cleaned the house we started seeing roaches in the kitchen. We do the dishes and clean the kitchen religiously every night and have never seen a roach before. We had pest control out today and they confirmed it was a very recent infestation. Obviously it would be very hard to prove with certainty that Boardwalk brought the roaches in, so I'm not doing that, but it does make me wonder. If they had cleaned a house with roaches and disturbed the roaches during the cleaning, I could see it being very easy for a few roaches to hitch a ride with their cleaning supplies to the next house. read more

It was incredibly clean, smelled amazing, and honestly felt like a brand new apartment. It was the little things. They rolled my place mats, they folded my blankets, and made it feel like I had a personal maid service tailored just for my apartment. I have 2 cats and a dog and they were 100% okay with that. I had Boardwalk Cleaning out to clean my new apartment before moving in. I was underwhelmed by the cleaning job the apartment complex had done, so Boardwalk did a 'Make Ready' clean for me. They are extremely friendly, I worked with Kyra to schedule the appointment and she was very responsive to all my questions. The cleaning crew arrived on time and they were very friendly. I was pleased with the cleaning job and inquired with Boardwalk about monthly cleaning service (twice a month). I was disappointed with the price per visit for the monthly service. My apartment is 679 square feet, and they wanted nearly $100 per visit. Maybe I'm just naive to the cost of cleaning service, but I felt that was a bit excessive for such a small apartment. I'll probably use them once or twice a year for a deep clean. read more

I chose Boardwalk based on Yelp reviews, and hired them for a top-to-bottom clean in anticipation of bringing a new baby home this week. The cost was way above what I've ever paid for a house cleaning, but based on reviews, I was willing to pay whatever it took to finally get my house to sparkle. (Admittedly, my house was pretty dirty.) Boardwalk estimated 3-4 hours, and the field manager told me that if they needed more than 4 hours, they'd check with me before continuing. I said that was fine. We went out for a bit, then returned right at the four-hour mark to find the team already gone. I walked the house, and was disappointed to find many missed areas - cobweb, crumbs behind kitchen appliances, the washer covered in dried soap and lint, air vents caked in dust, missed floor areas behind objects, and an entire downstairs bathroom that had been completely missed. I called to let them know, and emailed a list of things I'd found. They immediately agreed to send out another team first thing in the morning. They arrived on time, and the field manager walked the house with me, agreed that the job had not been done properly, was very apologetic, and told me the new team would stay as long as it took to make things right. And they did! They pretty much did the entire house again at no additional cost, and the difference was like night and day. Even my husband said the house shone - and he doesn't say things like that often. :) While I do wish the clean had been right the first time, I'm very impressed by Boardwalk's customer service. Not once did they act annoyed at me calling them back out, and I can tell that it's important to them to leave their clients happy - which I definitely am. I have never used a maid service before, and chose Boardwalk for their high review marks and their $175-for-$200 deal. I was not disappointed. I own a duplex, and after an awkward call with another company where I had to EXPLAIN the concept of a duplex to the lady, I was grateful that Boardwalk's customer service representative was sharp and helpful. We set the appointment and I didn't think any more about it until the night before the service. I did some low-level picking up of my socks and stuff so they could get to the areas to clean, left fresh sheets on the edge of the bed, crated the dogs and left the key. When I arrived back at the unit, it was beautiful, clean, and the bed was made with the new sheets. I can't describe how nice it feels to arrive home from a day's work and see a house sparkling with no doghair tumbleweeds. Worth every penny. The follow up service has been a breeze to schedule, and I could not be more pleased with my experience. I would recommend Boardwalk without reservation. read more

Okay, seriously, the team has just left and I keep wandering through my home Julie Andrews-style, ready to burst out with "The hills are alive..." I am beyond thrilled with their work. We have a regular housekeeper who comes every week and we love her, but she does not clean windows and a few other things. I had begun to notice that after living here for 3 years (even with weekly cleaning) there were areas where the dust was getting heavy (mostly behind and under furniture). I called Boardwalk and explained the situation, that I just needed the extras of a heavy 'spring cleaning', the basics were already taken care of as my housekeeper would be here the day before they were scheduled. Juan had no problem with my unusual request, he welcomed my list and suggested a few other items. The team arrived on time (all smiles) with the list Juan and I had agreed upon in hand. I explained the situation to them, showed them around, and off they went. They were amazingly thorough, yet worked quickly and efficiently! My list included items such as: window cleaning, hand wash baseboards, doors, frames and handles, clean fronts of kitchen and bath cabinets, clean all air vents, ceiling fans, deep vacuum carpet borders and stairs (where all the corners meet), clean under washer/dryer, condition leather recliners, clean light fixtures over bath vanities, etc. WOW! What a difference cleaning those items makes! About halfway through the cleaning, a supervisor called and spoke with the team. When she became a little confused about the services I was having performed, she spoke directly with me. I truly appreciated her communicating with me immediately to get clarification. I am so happy with the results and the price was reasonable. I will have Boardwalk come twice a year to provide this service, as well as for weekly cleaning when my housekeeper is on vacation. I agree with Sharon P. I've used Boardwalk Cleaning for years and loved them, even recommending them to friends. But over the last 3 - 4 months, the quality has taken a nose-dive. First, they became very difficult to schedule; then they raised their rates significantly; then they started showing up later than the 3-hour window which meant that I was hanging around for 4 hours just to get my house cleaned; they stopped sending crews where at least one person spoke English resulting in two separate difficult incidents, one of which resulted in the cleaner yelling and lecturing me about something I had already told the staff about (I have frightened kitties that hide under the loveseat in my living room and don't want the cleaners to clean around it); and I've had to reclean the bathroom and redo the kitchen floors after they leave because they are not thorough. Very sad when a company you trusted changes for the worse. read more

**This was the first time I've ever used a cleaning service. They did a very good job, cleaning-wise. I hired them to come do the Moving Out special and was very impressed. The only thing (which is big in my mind) is that they tried billing me for more time than the cleaning crew was there, which I had to call about and they refunded the difference back to my card. They were very reasonable about that though, which was nice, just make sure to double-check your total. They also didn't notify me when the cleaning crew were done, which cost me an extra $40 because I knew when they got there, just not when they left (when I was talking to them about the incorrect billing). That part wasn't very good if you're trying to be somewhere at a certain time but want to make sure everything looks okay first. Hence, 3 stars. read more
