One of my favorite metal bands, Orbit Culture, kicked off their North America tour here and there was absolutely no way I was missing it. My wife, being the supportive queen that she is, came with me. In return, I'm pretty sure I owe her a Hilary Duff concert. Sacrifices must be made for love. This was our first time at Goldfield and we honestly loved the venue. Check-in was quick and easy, and we decided to upgrade our seats to get dedicated barstools along the top rail. Best decision ever. My knees are no longer built for mosh pits. I'm pretty sure I heard them pop just watching the chaos from above. The highlight of the night was our dedicated server. I think her name was Hannah... or Ana... or something close. She was the one who checked us in and gave us the green wristbands for the barstools. Absolute rockstar. Friendly, professional, and fearless. I say fearless because she navigated through packed crowds to bring us our drinks without spilling a single drop. That deserves a gold medal. Goldfield, give her a gold star and maybe some bonus PTO. She earned it. As for the venue layout, there really isn't a bad spot in the house. I loved the two upstairs sections on both sides of the stage. Great views, great energy, and you still feel fully immersed in the show. Only heads up: the bathrooms are small, and depending on where you're standing, your journey there might require cutting straight through the mosh pit. So plan accordingly and stretch first. So sad to go to a place like this and watch everyone get treated like it's the only club in town. My girlfriend and I bought the tickets to see the "Morgan Walken Experience" online, showed up in line at 6:40 only to have someone yell at us all about how there's no food served and no food allowed so eat before you get in. This was a pointless message. We're all, already in line. But, At first it was fair enough outside of the rude attitude like we were all cattle, but, all of us in line collectively dismissed it as someone having a bad day. The show was going to start at 7:00, so no problem, except the band didn't start for 2 HOURS later!!! After one hour, they appointed a guy with a guitar that was doing his best, but was clearly someone's cousin playing some originals no one knew. The MWE band wasn't great admittedly, but the establishment obviously was trying to stretch out the time to sell more alcohol and effectively soften the audiences judgement of the band at the same time. Most left after an hour (we're all tired and hungry after 2 hits of waiting it was now 3 hours). I walk my girlfriend to the car which is just in front of the establishment and go to step back inside for a moment to use the restroom only to be blocked. Once you leave, no returns - I was informed. I have the wrist band and he saw me walk her out and can see my car is running. I explain, I will only be a few minutes. "Nope. No exceptions". I explained the bend was two hours late as he well knows and we've all been patient, I'm 63 years old and I'm about to have an accident, what's the harm.? "Nope, no exceptions." Obviously, we will not be returning and hoping for change in ownership someday. We vote with our dollar. We communicate with our business. This place is about doing what's in the best for itself only. As long as people keep paying the admission and accepting the treatment, we are sending the message clear and concise, "yes, please continue to lie about the start time to sell more liquor, treat the customers like cattle with policies that should have been outlined before we bought the tickets, and don't accommodate a customer's request to even use the restroom even when there's proof (wrist band and the fact that he saw me leave), That is the kind of establishment we want in our community." My girlfriend and I are not going to make much of a difference whether we come or not, but voicing our experience and going elsewhere, is the best we can do to hopefully attract a friendly establishment to the community that is interested in earning good business AND providing a honest service. read more

We had the best time at Goldfield Trading Post! It's a great venue, with bars on both levels. The band was amazing...Tainted Love is so talented! They sang all the great 80s hits and kept the crowd rocking. If you're visiting Goldfield, know that there's a free garage nearby so parking is a breeze. The lower level with the stage is standing room (which we really enjoyed...perfect for dancing), but there seemed to be seats with great views on the upper level. I imagine you need to get there early to snatch those up. There's no in and outs, but they do have a patio area if you need to grab some fresh air. The crowd was awesome but for the couple of guys that were getting froggy, security was on them and handled it within seconds. Great venue, phenomenal band. We went here for the Bayker Blankenship concert and Joe and Martina opened for them. Both did a phenomenal job and put on an incredible show. If it was the show itself, I would easily give them five stars because they both put on an incredible performance and concert. As for the venue, I'm a bit more mixed so I will break down the pros and cons. Pros: *The venue seems to be in a good location in the downtown area with a decent amount of parking. *The prices were reasonable for tickets. *I liked that they had two different price points for the experience you are looking to have and for what you are wanting to spend. The first floor is standing only, although you can get right up close to the action. The balcony area you pay a bit more and was seated and had a server assigned to the tables. *Our server and all the staff delivering food and drinks did a phenomenal job and were very friendly and attentive. *We didn't order drinks, but heard they were reasonably priced so that's good to hear. *They provided free bottled water to us in the balcony section. *They have a QR code for you to order food. I didn't think it was amazing, although convenient. Cons: *I felt the times could have been more clearly outlined. The show said it started at 7pm, although we didn't get in because there was a line until 7:30pm although arrived at 6:30pm and some people got in way later. Joe and Martina started at 8pm and Bayker Blankenship didn't start until 9:10pm, which was later than I and others expected. *What I disliked most about this place is that they scan your ID and take a picture of your face. I felt the picture of your face was invasive and excessive. I didn't like that and feel like I wouldn't come back to a place that requires taking a picture of you before you can enter a venue. *Due to it being a small venue, there were some hiccups like a couple of the microphones not working and the acoustics being off at the start, although this was quickly fixed for the most part (with the exception of one microphone not working on stage). *Wasn't the biggest fan of the food. It was an okay falafel wrap. Overall, an exceptional performance that we both loved. I personally didn't like the requirement of them taking a picture of myself before I could enter. It seems like they might have established this after problems arose, but feel there are better ways to deal with this than invasive measures like taking your picture before entering the venue to make sure it passes some test of theirs. For that reason primarily, I don't know if I would come back to this venue. read more

This spot used to be the old Ninja Sushi joint. Now it's like a small concert venue and I think it works! Came here to have a nostalgic night and see the Freekshow 25th anniversary tour. I hadn't been to one of these shows since 2006. It was hot AF outside and because the place was packed, it was insanely hot inside too. Like really bad. They provided free water so that was nice. Alcoholic beverages were priced fairly and staff was nice. I would go back but on a much cooler night. I would suggest getting a better ac system and some fans though because on a summer night, it was miserable. Sound was great tho and stage was awesome. read more

About 2 years ago I started going to concerts at Goldfield, and it is my favorite local place by far. I've been able to see many of my favorite punk and thrash metal bands play there, and I've never had a bad experience. It's awesome to be able to share my love of music with my kids, and it also makes for a nice date night with my wife. The bartenders and wait staff are all super nice and take good care of you. The bartenders were nice, but one of the security guards really needs some training or a totally different career path. I was at Micromania on 5/27/26. There was a security guard (dark hair, bushy beard and mustache, backwards baseball cap) standing on the landing of the stairs near the end of the bar furthest from the front door. At first I didn't realize he was a security guard because he kept playing around with his phone and watching the phone. Then I stood on the landing so I could see the wrestling action a little better. At this point he explains to me that I can't stand anywhere on the stairs in case someone needs to use the railing. OK, fine. Never mind that he completely ignores the gangly teenager sprawled all over the stairs that people have to walk around. Rather than tell the teenager to move, he decides to take pictures of the show and fix himself drinks from the bar. There were also kids standing all over the other staircase. I'm not sure if he really just didn't want me standing on the stairs or if he was too lazy to actually do his job. read more

FYI for customers ordering food at Goose Port at Goldfield Trading Post..... I attended a concert at Goldfield Trading Post on Tuesday, October 28th and was delighted the Bar had a QR Code to order food from Goose Port just a block away. This Goldfield does not serve food and they have a strict no ins and outs policy. I ordered a Vegan Burger by scanning the QR Code at Goldfield Trading Post. I received an e-mail confirmation along with a text confirmation stating that my order was received. The text stated that my order would be ready in 15 to 30 min. The bartender stated that I would receive a text as soon as my order was ready and I could pick it up at the bar. I waited close to an hour after receiving no update regarding my order. Note that it was impossible for me to call the restaurant because of the noise in the venue and I also could not walk over there because of the no in and out policy. I was stunned when I went up to the bar and asked for a status update regarding my order. They handed me a copy of my receipt and it said in handwriting "we are out of burgers and will issue refund in the morning". I was never notified via text, email or by phone that my order had been cancelled. In fact, by the time I learned that my order had been cancelled, it was too late to reorder a different item as the website was no longer taking orders for the night. I would have expected an e-mail along with a text stating that my order had been cancelled and a refund issued immediately. I checked my bank today October 30, 2025 and I have not been issued a refund. Also, I ordered tots with my burger and it would have been nice if I would have received the tots and got a refund for the burger. I would never order food from Goose Port at Goldfield Trading Post in Roseville. I have cross posted this review in hopes that others attending shows at Goldfield Trading Post will not order food from Goose Port. I called Goose Port today and left a message from the owner and I have not heard back. read more

I did find the Texas Roadhouse vibe and layout have the mosh pit right off the bar makes for some frustration, but they got us in and out of the venue quickly. Everyone was friendly and the drinks came out quick. Sound was fantastic and the mosh furiously raging all night made for a lot of fun. This review is for Goldfield Trading Post as a concert venue only. I have partaken of the bevvies, but not of any food offerings they may have. The short of it is that I love coming to this smaller but still decently sized venue for shows, and the only flaw is the tight space getting through the crowd if you need to go from one side of the floor to the other, between the (full, yes) bar and the stage. With the way this place is designed, there's no way around this and I get that. As bottlenecks go, I prefer this venue greatly over their J Street Downtown sister space. I prefer to post up in the right side balcony here because the view overhead is so spectacular if you can get there early enough to be at the railing. My friends and I were just here for Holding Absence's first headlining tour (we were the first in the US to give them a sold out show too, props Sacramento area fans!) with Casey and Capstan this past weekend, and a little over a year ago, I came here for Counterparts with Dying Wish and SeeYouSpaceCowboy. Both shows were fantastic. They have a really nice sound system, and the staff and security are cool from what I've personally experienced. They have a wide floor plan that offers as good a view as possible even for short people honestly, without crap in the way to obstruct the stage. If you're gonna mosh, space is limited and it gets wild. I'm old and have back problems, so go be extra for me, take care of each other. Drinks are not as expensive as other local venues, which is always a plus. They are smaller plastic cups, but not weak pours. Bartenders are cool. Bottles of water are $3. Tickets are sold through SeeTickets, which has an app, but will also provide ticket barcodes that scan directly from your confirmation email. I paid $20-$30 for each ticket. I have not used the app. They start at GA, but VIP is available. From what I gather, this is a seated area on one or both balconies. For one show I saw this set up on the right balcony, but not the other, which meant I had a perfect view that time. The other time, I could still see decently. They have two small screens in the balcony areas, so you could watch that way if it's too crowded. There are windows up here you could open for air, but they don't have screens, so do so at your own risk. Bathrooms are small, and run low on TP, so plan ahead there. It is a fight through the crowd to get to the bathrooms unless you are already on the left of the stage. They have a large smokers pen outside which you enter and exit using a glass slider. The venue is pretty cool by design in a lot of ways. It fits in well in this area of Roseville and I hope it continues to draw people in. As I said earlier in this again much too long and rambly review, I prefer this location to the one closer to me. Parking: This area of Old (ish) Roseville is kinda dead in spots so it shouldn't be an issue to find parking a few blocks from the venue. There is *free* street parking on Vernon and on Atlantic, which runs behind the venue. Be wary of the traintracks; if you aren't used to the area they can send you in circles if you're driving or walking in from certain directions. Do not mess around with driving tipsy over here between the trains and the PD, it's not a good idea on top of what is already not a good idea. Use rideshare or carpool with a DD. read more

Came by here on a Friday night to watch Kelsey Hart and Restless Road. The doors opened promptly at 7pm, and staff were very efficient at getting everyone through security and checked in. The bartenders and staff are very friendly and welcoming. They get a lot of really good acts through, but the place is laid out and managed so poorly. I don't think I wanna go back again. Two examples : first, there's no walking lanes like ace of spades downtown. That means if you wanna get a drink or go from one end of the floor to another during a show, you literally have to squeeze through a full crowd to do it. Second, last show I went to I told The ID check guy that I'm happy to get a wristband, but that I don't drink. He thought for a minute and then took my picture with his cell phone and put a band on my wrist anyway. It seemed really odd that they're taking patrons' pictures as they walk in the door. I'm in my 50s and would not be confused with a teenager trying to drink illegally. I wish this place luck and hope they figure things out. So when people have to rebut my opinion, it only shows the childishness of their being. Telling me that if I didn't like it then don't go. Guess what, I won't! It was very cold, windy and rainy that night. My tickets said doors open at 7:00 pm, then why did we have to wait in a block long line at 7:45. By the time we were even close to the door, the band had already started. Why do we have to contend with people buying 3 and 4 drinks at a time and spilling half of them. Hell, not even longer than two minutes when the club is completely sold out the bartenders are great. They are fast. They are accurate. I took my daughter to see Escape the Fate and Stitched Up Heart; what a fantastic concert! She was right in the front, pressed against the gate; like an old man, I chose to get an assigned seat with a server that brought me all the drinks I needed to enjoy the music. The bands rocked! First time here to see Joey Belladonna's Beyond Frontiers and we had a great time. A good height for the stage and a relatively short distance between the stage and the downstairs bar (maybe 10-12 people deep). We hung out in the seating upstairs (back section) during the opener and then made our way down to the floor. The bartenders were very quick in terms of service. We made our way to within a person or two of the front of the stage (the padded columns can block the view, but are a nice back support if you are there). The sound was great and the venue projects digital signage for the band. Beyond Frontiers was great and Joey Belladonna really enjoys the Journey songs (he teased a Dio tribute band during the show). I was little surprised to be kicked out after the show on a Saturday night (we were outside by 11:30 PM) read more

I've been to a lot of venues and this is probably been the worst. The bartenders were exceptional and very kind however other parts of the staff including security, we're absolutely unprofessional and very rude. When we showed to join the rest of our group, we found our friend was playing outside the sliding doors , still on their property and having extreme stomach pains. She doesn't drink, nor does she take any drugs and was an absolute pain. The staff was total jerks about this whole situation, mostly the security and the staff just pretend like nothing was happening. This was around 7:00 p.m.. after our friend hauled off in an ambulance, her best friend went to stay with her the hospital. We decided to try and enjoy the night, but again had trouble with the staff. My friend asked if we could go upstairs since there is hardly anybody up there even though it was VIP seating, and she was told that she could go out there since there was many people up there. We were up there for close to an hour, when we had some young waitress Girl come out and tell us we had to leave from the upstairs and then I was VIP. My friend proceeded to tell her that the latest security said it was fine if we went up there, which is why we all went up there and gave up our table right there at front row. We were harassed and they ended up kicking my friend out because they called her a liar for saying she could go up there. This is the absolute worst venue I've ever been to I will never ever go back. They didn't offer food their staff is completely mature and unprofessional and I'm not surprised why this place has a bad read more

Let me preface this review by saying that I came here for the dancing which was advertised heavily at Country in the Park the weekend before. This place has so much potential. The interior was very well done, right on theme. Love that there is an upstairs if you want to just chill and a downstairs where you can be a part of the action. Bouncers, security staff, and bartenders were all very friendly. That being said, we came to Goldfield because they advertised they had dancing. We tried to call multiple times to confirm if there was dancing, start times, etc. and no one answered over the course of a week. We also emailed the "info" email on their website and it bounced. When we arrived, there was a concert so you couldn't get into the bar until the band was done unless you bought a ticket ahead of time, and the band wasn't done until 1050, so we had to kill time at one of the few bars that were still open in the area since we arrived around 930. Once we got in (around 11pm) it took them 30-45 minutes to clean up the floor and the bar from the concert crowd, so dancing didn't start until about 1130. There are concerts almost every night, so it doesn't seem like dancing is really something they're focused on. When dancing finally started, it was very disorganized. The dance leaders are up on stage to theoretically help lead the dances, but were seldom on the same page as far as what dances were being done, what direction to start, and when to start--it was nearly impossible to follow. My friend and I are very experienced country line dancers (well over a decade) and even we had a hard time trying to figure out what dance they were doing. Their confusion led to people on the dance floor all doing the dances in different directions, causing people to bump into each other and frankly, it was a pretty frustrating experience. We've been to countless other line dancing bars across the country that follow this formula of having dance leaders on stage AND in the crowd, and it can be really amazing and fun, but only if all staff is on the same page. Additionally, the amount of ridiculously drunk people present was a lot to deal with. Having to dodge VERY drunk people on the dance floor was not ideal. We saw several people getting literally carried out of the bar by their friends. Stoney's Rockin Rodeo blows this place out of the water if you're looking for a dancing night. TLDR; very cool bar, looks like it would be a good live music venue, but not a great dance venue. read more

Overall it's a cool place, but a few things I thought were a little weird. While waiting in line outside, a guy was asking to show our tickets, and I said ours were at the will-call. He asked for which band, he was rather short and curt. It threw me off because the show had four bands so I said all of them, his question didn't make sense. So we proceeded to be scanned by security and then in we went. My understanding was that we would be admitted after going to said "will call" for tickets, as I had submitted a name and email to 'claim them' and figured that it would be confirmed before going past the entrance desk. I guess they just take your word for it, kind of misleading, just walk on in. What did annoy me was that I had a bag of leftovers from the Goose Port sitting right next to me, literally inches from my arm, and I looked and it was gone, some staff guy threw it out. As I was looking around, he said he was waving it around and tossed it. I did not see him do that, I was sitting right there, you'd think he would know it belonged to who it was close to or at least asked, it was not crowded, nor did I leave it behind. Bands don't start on time, they leave you outside in a line far past starting time and they don't let you in and out even though you've paid a lot of $ to see a band and you're a full grown adult. *This review is only for the venue, not the restaurant I went to my first show here and it was pretty good. I bought my ticket from the band and I was instucted to pick up my ticket at the box office. They don't have a box office from what I could see but there was a list with my name on it, so that was really easy. The venue is more long than deep, so more people fit along the stage rather than in front of it. There is an upstairs balcony on either side of the stage which is cool. Similar to the one at Ace of Spades if you've been there. When I went there was a sectioned off seated part at the very front of the balcony on one side, I'm assuming this was the VIP seating. There's a huge bar along the back of the venue on the main floor and another on the upper section too. So there's definitely a lot of bar space if you need to get a drink. I believe there's only one bathroom downstairs. This wasn't built from what I can tell as an actual venue so there are a few support beams that can block your view depending on where you're standing. The stage is open so there's a lot of side stage spots if you don't want to try to cram in front. My advice is get there early if it's a sold out show to get a good spot upstairs. Goldfield is right in the middle of downtown Roseville, so street parking is pretty sparse, but I believe there's a parking garage pretty close. I'm a fan of small venues and this a good one to catch your favorite band at a reasonable price. read more

Especially after closing the beloved Holy Diver in Midtown. Well this place has hosted some serious shows. Lots already. More spacious then the J st location. I always have a good time. Yes, you do have to kinda fight for a drink because it's so busy but they do have a upstairs bar that does relieve some pain and also catch the show from up there if you like. All floor pit in front of stage, full chaos may ensue. Outside smoker area separated by a glass sliding door you'd see at my mom's house. Kinda divey Sports bar nearby by for some pre drinks. We bought our tickets ahead of time, they were general admission so we were a little worried about having to stand the whole time (yes I'm old!). Thanks to some other reviews on Yelp, we got there when the doors opened and were able to hustle to the balcony, grab a beer and a seat. We learned that if the show has a seat upgrade available, you can buy a seat along the front row of the balcony online. These were all sold out when we got there, but they were stools with a counter along the railing. I took this pick just behind the seats so you get a great view. We were able to grab a little booth and sit until the show started which was great. They have a bunch of booths upstairs and serve food during the event. Some folks complained on here that the drinks are overpriced but I didn't think it was too bad. Servers were really friendly and helpful. Nice selection of beers and hard sodas. Overall, I thought this was a great small venue for a show and the band sounded great. If you're downstairs there is lots of room and if you're so inclined you can get super close to the band. read more

They oversell the tickets and you can't breath because there is no A/C or any airflow. If you like sweating or suffocating to death it's the perfect venue. Very uncomfortable. read more

First time at the Roseville location for the Yacht Rock band. The place is massive and gets packed. I'm too old to have drinks served in plastic cups. The food was ok -- wings, fries, honestly just needed something. But I had to ask 3 times over an hour ' where's my food?' The downstairs was packed so I highly recommend the 2nd floor balcony, plus that's where you can order food. The bartenders and servers we very nice. That's always makes my experience better. My deepest appreciation goes to the staff that went from no people during the pandemic to a place packed like sardines. Bravo!! read more

Update from my last review: I appreciate the offer of tickets to a tribute show to make up the missed Yngwie Malmsteen show that we missed because of how late the show started because of a tour bus issue they had no control of. But I also purchased the upgraded seats for an additional $50 that I paid Goldfields directly. It would have been the first time doing. We were hoping it would be a great chance to see if we would want to do it for future shows. They won't honor the seat upgrade that I purchase for the free tickets they offered us. I'm disappointed. At this point they have made extra money on us and the free tickets do not hold much value and more. read more
