This, only my third visit, was off-putting; I tried to get…read moreover it by the time I left, especially considering that Thanksgiving is three days away, but it's still sitting pretty shitty with me. It's a little past 8:00 a.m. and I received super loose (almost non-existent) coaching from Diane today; I guess she expected me to have memorized all the new exercises/stretches and their reps from last time. Maybe it's just too early for both of us??!!? I generally like to try to have understanding about things and find plausible reasons for bs. However, when someone is getting paid to be a PT coach, that's exactly what they better be. The real bonus was using a ball with a couple of small spots of schmutz from someone else!! When I told Diane that the ball was dirty, she asked me to clean it. I then specified to her that it wasn't from me and she again actually asked ME to clean it!! Then, she added that SHE could clean it, with a gentle voice suggesting that she'd do me the "favor".......naaaah, too late for that......Cinderella PATIENT, here, had already been prodded and will go ahead and clean up the slop that I was told to tend to.....isn't that what insurance pays this joint for? This is not a community pitch-in or family; I'm a patient/client and these things are supposed to be clean for my use and everyone else's!! We were among the first very few patients for the day. Who knows how long that ball had been dirty like that. IT'S THEIR JOB AND RESPONSIBILITY TO KEEP ALL THINGS IN THE FACILITY CLEAN!!! I didn't know that I had to earn my keep here and then some. It made being asked to sanitize--AS SOON AS I WALKED IN--an extra joke. I felt like she really couldn't be bothered with me and I would've been better off not being there. Maybe if I were just a tad more important than her folding towels and chit-chatting with another patient, perhaps I wouldn't feel like I had just entered the beginning stages of being some sort of red-headed stepchild.

More often than not, Adam Moore is our assigned physical therapist but having hung out in the back personally, the entire team is great. Even the trainee I dealt with was very personable! What's great is Adam is geniunely out for your best interests and doesn't have you keep coming back more than you need to. He also told me last time that I didn't need to be referred to my primary doctor for future reference so when had nagging pain that wouldn't go away, I was able to call Sports Plus and get an appointment without wasting any money on a different doctor to get referred. He had her 100% pain free in 3 or 4 visits! I'm still pain free after my physical therapy but I've also got two worksheets of exercises and two bands of varying strengths so if the pain returns (because I'm old and that's what happens), I can start doing the physical therapy on my own without having to return. Even the front desk ladies are wonderful! It's never a good situation when you have to get physical therapy, but the entire team at Sports Plus does an excellent job at making a sucky situation much more bearable.

Carolina PT offered aqua PT which wood reduce impact stress (on said hip and other joints) to allow myself to reach my goals of recovery with less pain! Seeing most of my friends who have had replacement type surgeries have viewed the necessary PT representing some other acronym meaning "Physical Torture" but Carolina PT was far from that. Starting first with meeting Katie the Director and working with their great staff like Emma and others it was overall a fantastic experience and I reached my goals without the pain that had lingered after my previous PT experience. Thank you Carolina PT!

It is off University Blvd. This location is right off of the 205B exit on I-26. On the first day, I had an assessment. Megan, the person I worked with, put me through many different tests and asked me how dizzy or off balanced these tests made me feel. She also was checking my heart rate a lot. She asked me many questions about my symptoms, and asked what the doctors have been saying. She seemed to genuinely want to help me. We scheduled 5 future appointments that first day. It's nice to be able to plan in advance. They are open Monday-Friday. So no weekend appointments. Every appointment, Megan would give me homework to do. This would consist of different exercises. Some were like workouts at the gym, others were more like just turning your head side to side while you stand like you're on a balance beam (but you're not) - this was hard for me. They have this big machine there that's pretty cool. You stand in it and it tests your balance. They go through a few different tests, some where the ground you stand on moves, others where the walls move, etc. At the end, the results tell you how off balanced you are, which way you lean, and how you compare to others. Overall, this was a good experience. It's a lot like physical therapy but for people who are off balanced. I loved my physical therapist. She was so nice and caring. I would highly recommend this place.
