My daughter surprised me with a Mother's Day massage last Saturday. I was very excited and looking forward to it because my back has been hurting. The girl behind the desk, I think it was the owner was very polite. She explained the whole process to me & let me know if I need the therapist to go softer say softer and if harder go harder. So she gave me an American girl massage therapist. While the girl was very nice it was not the best massage. Massage was very painful. I had to keep telling her go softer. Like over 6 times. The face massage was nice. Legs , arms , & back super painful. Next day on Mother's Day I was getting ready and I noticed bruises all over my body. Especially on my legs. I definitely want to come back my daughter loves it her and always has good experiences. I will however ask for someone different.

Came here twice in one week lol, so it's safe to say I love this place :). Both times, the pressure was perfect, and even though I was worried about the hot stones, it didn't burn me at all and it definitely helped my muscles relax more. I got the full body massage both times, and it was perfect. They concentrated on my upper back which is where I usually hold my stress, and also massaged both legs, arms, hands, and even head, face, and shoulders. For 75 minutes, it was only like $93! What a steal :) I will definitely be back

Finally found a great spot for a relaxing massage! It's a bit of a drive, but absolutely worth it. They started with warm stones, which felt amazing. My husband and I booked last minute, and they were kind enough to accommodate us. My masseuse, LeAnn, was fantastic--she focused on all the areas I needed and really helped release the knots. My husband had Hannah, and he said she was great too. We both left feeling so much lighter and totally refreshed. Definitely planning to book again in a few weeks!

My experience here was absolutely amazing. I've been to other Asian massage places where you keep your clothes on and you're rubbed down through a towel. Nothing beats skin contact with warm stones and aromatic oils. They have a variety of scents you can choose from. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and thoroughly explained everything they offered as well as how long each muscle would be massaged for. My massage was life changing!! Lol. I'm going to bring my husband next time!! read more

I just had a hot stone back massage and facial and OMG! I love this place. The hot stone massage was awesome with aromatherapy. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Fred, who also did my facial. He explained what everything was before just jumping in since it was my first facial. I can tell he has a passion for his craft and really took the time to invest in his practice. The place is calm, relaxing, and clean. I really appreciated the customer service. I was able to call yesterday and get an appointment today. For sure will be a returning customer. read more

Fantastic place! I love getting massages but hate waiting for an appointment, so I have tried out several walk in massage places that I was not very impressed with. I went here on a friend's recommendation and have had nothing but great experiences! I have had the shoulder/neck massage several times, each with different therapists, and it was just as good each time. Clean and comfortable, and they use a disposable sheet, which I appreciate. I'll be back for sure! read more

REALLY enjoyed my foot massage. The receiptionist spoke very clear English and was very thorough in explaining everything to me. Honestly because she did that I was able to relax a little more. Like that they have private rooms. The guy I got was very good. I don't like hard massages and he did great at doing a happy medium for me. I also had a bee sting on my face and he was so cautious about that area. Will definitely be going back, and I most certainly recommend them! read more

It's official, this will be my go to massage place in Modesto! From the front desk receptionist to the masseuses, services rendered was professional and superb. Moon, my massage therapist, was amazing. She knew where all the knots and tension was in my body. Not only that, she took the time out to constantly check-in on me to see how the pressure was. Most Asian spa places do not do that. Further, the place was VERY clean and they use top of the line products. Ambiance was beautiful and relaxing as well. I have massages all over the world and have to say, this place belongs on my top 3! We are coming back for sure and I suggest you all try them out. You will not be disappointed!!! read more

This is my first time to come to New Experience body spa and I love the service that I got. The lady who massaged me, Alisa, is really good. Love their foot massage package, very reasonable price and just for additional $10, I got extra 15 minutes massage in my back (which I've been complaining for almost two weeks now). Now Im relieved. This place is a gem. My boyfriend and I went for a couples massage. We were able to get an appointment for the next day, we got the 75 min massage for $65 and got an extra 5 minutes for paying with cash. The pressure was perfect and they asked a few times. They used the hot stones and warm rags to wipe you down so you don't have that slippery feeling when leaving. When we left they gave me a rose and box of chocolates for Valentine's Day. read more

We decided this morning to take a road trip and get massages along the way. Because we are from out of town and hadn't made a prior appointment for two people, it was a struggle to find a place to schedule a last minute appointment that would accommodate both of us. After many failed phone calls with other massage spas, we discovered The Body Spa in Modesto. Not only was the front desk that answered the phone a complete doll, she was able to push our appointment out when it took longer than expected to reach our destination. Upon arrival, we were greeted with sounds of waterfalls and smells of lavender to soothe our tired traveling feet. We picked out our aromatherapy oils we wanted for our massages and I felt like we were treated with the full experience. The massages were great! read more

i came here one friday evening with my mom to get a massage for both of us. since we wanted a room together we had to wait a while until the next available room was ready which was no biggie! the young lady at the front of the counter was very nice and explained the process since the massagers don't speak much english. she does have a very low voice so you have to pay close attention to what she is asking or telling you lol. you first pick your package, then you continue to pick a oil aroma for your room. my mom got a neck and shoulder massage and i got a full body massage. my mom really enjoyed her massage but suggests if you have an injured shoulder or more of a chronic situation to be careful since the pressure could feel uncomfortable. as for me, my massage was great as well! they were very professional and made sure you were okay the whole time. i did wake up pretty sore from my shoulders since she went pretty rough around that area but at the time it felt good so i might just get a lighter pressure next time. after wards they ask you how everything was and offer you some complimentary water. i definitely recommend if your looking for any kind of massage since they have many options to choose from! and at reasonable prices. read more

I moved to Manteca two years ago when I found The Body Spa. I had back surgery over 15 years ago & so I am very particular with where I get my massages from. Since I started coming here I refuse to go anywhere else. All of the therapists, staff and services offered are wonderful. The prices are great & everyone I have sent here love it. Last year I was pregnant & came 3-4 times a month for prenatal massages, and after I had my baby, I came right back. Everyone here is wonderful and I highly recommend coming here. Great place, My Fiancee and I had a one hour massage done together, it was awesome. Only thing is while the lady was doing my feet and legs I fell asleep and well snored for a sec. She had to reach over and nudge me. LOL I thought it was awesome, We both came out feeling really good. this is NOT your cheep thrill type of place. Really don't know what's so special about this place except that they use hot stone. Me and my wife both love getting massages after reading great reviews I decided to give it a try..I went with the 60 mins foot massage. The therapist I had didn't know what she was doing she missed most of my pressure point and was hitting or pressing on my bones...it was very uncomfortable. The decor was not inviting/relaxing and it's kind of dirty, especially the restrooms and the music was way too loud but all of that wouldn't matter if the therapist was good. I've tried several Asian foot massage places in modesto and this one did not stand out from the other. It's just my honest opinion!!!!!! read more

Specialties

The Body Spa is providing you with more than the typical shop. We blend Swedish deep-tissue massage with an Asian-style massage so you'll leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. All of our massage therapists are specially trained to ensure that you get a consistently effective treatment every visit. We wanted to offer our clients as many helpful services as possible, so we added skin care to our repertoire, too. You'll find all types of Dermalogica products right here at our spa -- and we're here to help you figure out which ones are best for your skin.

Here at the Body Spa, our massages are different than other shops. We have blended together Asian-style massage with Swedish deep-tissue massage. We use aromatherapy and hot stones in every massage, too.

Meet the Business Owner: Fred A.

I am a licensed massage therapist and a licensed esthetician. My partner and I opened this spa together in 2012. We have continued to improve and grow the business. We recently launched the skin care part of our business and are very excited to bring you the Dermalogica brand. I am currently attending the International Dermal Institute to acquire all the latest knowledge of the Dermalogica products.

You need to call and make appointment. They book quickly so I wouldn't suggest walking in without an appointment. The climate has changed so you might have an opportunity for walk-in service.

I always get the upper body massage. I was told by the staff that the price was based on time which is a half-hour for this type and is $35. Hope this helps.

I had been wanting to get a facial for awhile now but knew they could be costly. However, I gifted myself one for my 31st birthday and it was well worth it. The whole experience was wonderful. For starters this isn't your cucumber on the eyes, face massage, basic facial. Fred takes his time to address your true skin concerns and gives it only what it needs and nothing more. My sister and I both received customized facials. There's no pressure to add on unnecessary treatments which is refreshing to say the least. One of the best family owned and ran businesses in Modesto. You'll walk out of there feeling like a million bucks and your face will thank you. Update!! I went to submit a review for the massage a friend and I received today and notice my previous experience was never submitted! Hands down the best massage ever. They apply the exact pressure you ask and your body needs! Super professional. Exceeded our every expectations! Will be returning customer most definitely. Amazing massage. I sit at a desk all day and have a lot of tension in my traps and upper back. David knew right where to apply pressure and work out the knots without me having to say a word. I went there two weeks in a row and he was able to completely change the way my neck, upper back, and shoulders were feeling. I do light pressure and it is absolutely perfect. Staff is super considerate and really professional. I love coming here - I know I will have a fantastic experience each time. Best massage place in this area, and I have been to more than a few looking for a relaxing time to let go of stress!! read more

I'm VERY impressed with this spa.. I've passed by many many times and never really knew they were there. They are a family owned facility. The staff has been great from the initial scheduling. It is very clean inside . I got a 60 min Body massage which was AMAZING. They also helped me choose the facial I needed according to my needs. I just had to ask recommendation and they were very informative. This is my new go to. Highly recommend! They are also a great gift to give. They offer e gift cards through their website. 10/10. This is the best place to get a massage when you need one. LeAnn is my favorite! The staff is absolutely wonderful and always make sure you are comfortable and always covered. The receptionist Amanda is wonderful and speaks English to help communicate any needs during your massage. The owners are a husband and wife team and they are awesome as well.
